Los Alisios Apartments Reviews
" 8/10 "
Submitted By: jobydunnentertainment is basic, snakes, birds,it just isnt long enough the average show was an hour,Gary (the entertainer) is a good guy to ask anything you need to know.
The best place to eat is the chippy next to talk of the town, the underground is next and peenny lanes do a fantastic sunday roast. For a great night of entertainment go to SABIS quiz night, usually in the underground or talk of the town, she is great!
the food on the complex was reasonably priced, and we ate in the restaurant quite a few times, however the buffet is a waste of time....we had a sunday roast for nearly 11 euros each,no roast potatoes and only 2 veg the whole meal was cold, even waiting for fresh to come out and that was cold, complained to rep...NICK...waste of time he didnt sort anything out,we had to talk to reception staff and as a gesture they gave half our money back, thanks for nothing Nick.that is why i gave a 8/10 score.

Submitted By: e.kirk81We always ate out so I can't comment on the food or on the entertainment.
The 2 issues with the hotel were the gardens were watered with something that smelt like raw sewage ever morning about 8am so we had to close all of our doors which was a pain as there was no air con. We had 2 buggies with us so used the ramps in the hotel rather than steps but the saftey grippers we all worn out so it a quite dangerous.
Corralejo itself is lovely it has something for everyone. The beaches are beautiful, we went to Wakiki most of the time because it was closer but did try the town beach near the harbour which is stunning. Both are so clear you can see the fish swimming in quite shallow water.
There's an English strip just off the main road that leads to Wakiki beach. The pubs were quite at night. The best 1 is the Talk of The Town, it's connected to the fryer which was good for a snack at lunch time. At the end of this road is Penny Lane, great for breakfast, full English just how it should be cooked.
The Plaza is bloody brilliant!! It has a Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Italian and Steak House. If you fancy 1 restaurant and your partner fancies another you can eat at any and order from any, the waiters sort the bill out. We did this a lot because my son loved the funny shaped pizzas at the Italian. There's also the 7 Pints Pub in the Plaza, park and small arcade. It suits everyone, adults and kids. My favourite was the Mexican and Indian, the portions at those and the Chinese are huge. My least favourite was the steak house, try the one on the side street near Poco Loco (Not Poco Loco though) can't remember what it was called but it was lovely. Prices ar very similar to home, the cheapest pint is in the English pubs, 2 euro but average is 3euro.
The harbour is lovely we ate and drank at Castaways for lunch and it was great. We tried another restaurant just as you get onto the cobbles on the corner, it was nice for steak and pasta.
We didn't go to the water park but did go to the market on the Fridays, it was good but just the usual stuff, leather etc.
I would definatley go back to Corralejo but not the accomodation although I'm not sure if I'd find another is such a good location.

Submitted By: Mr J AubreyThe complex is very clean with the gardens and avaries around the complex and the pools are very clean no rubbish around the only thing is the pools are freezing.
The apartment was very nice it had everything we needed and the maid service was fantastic they were round every day or second day to clean and give in fresh linen and towels.
Entertainment is good too with the kiddies disco in English and Dutch, Gary your a legend lol ! and there is either a quiz or a snake show, dancers etc
As we were half board we had breakfast and evening meal there and it was awful ! with reheats of the same rubbish every night, we would return but only self catering because we had to eat out a lot because it wasnt all that great.
Corralejo is a lovely town with the main street and all its shops bars and restaurants. The places we enjoyed the most were Jaipur around the corner from Dunas Alisios, Castaways near the harbour and for Lunch, Cafe de Paris at the end of the main street.
We would definetely return to Fuerteventura again.

Submitted By: Mrs Brigitte BROOMThe apartment had a little front garden where we sunbathed, like having your own private apt. We were next to the pool (the quiet pool) (supposed to be heated in 2009 but was extremely cold!). The other pool is busier (these properties used to be two separate ones but they are now one).
Only half of the apartments were full up so the place was relatively quiet and empty which suited us and we went over the Easter week.
We had food from the poolside bar which was lovely, no complaints there - recommended for quick snacks.
The evening entertainment was fine the usual quiz, snake show, singers etc but nice to unwind to.
These are not rowdy apartments, they are very quiet which was what we wanted.
Furteventura is a windy island, we loved Flag Beach and we loved walking along the harbour. Not too much to see and do a week was long enough. I would not return as I dont like windy resorts but its personal choice and we knew this when we booked.
If you want a very quiet holiday then pick Furteventura but not if you want the high life. We had a wonderful week.

The bathroom had recently been refurbiushed. The staff at the resort were allways very plesant and enjoyed some good banter with the reception staff. Great value for money for food ect, ate at the restaurant and was supprised by the quality, very good value!
Pool was always clean and no rubbish (the kids loved it)
Will be returning in october 2008!!!!
If people read some negative comments on this resort, please ignore them! with 3 kids we wouldnt stay in a dirty unsafe place, and this most certainly is not!
The only reason I have given a 9 not a full 10 is I thought the kids disco had not been as good as in recent years when a scotsman (cant remember his name sorry) did it.

Submitted By: Mr H Lloyd-HughesThe people at Reception are just excellent. They are friendly and extraordinarily helpful and efficient. Our special thanks go to Jayne Neale who has worked there since we first came seven years ago, she is from UK but lives in Fuerteventura permanently with her family and what she doesn't know about the town and the island isn't worth knowing. She is a gem.
We had two light bulbs fuse and a missing sink plug, these were dealt with immediately within the hour, what more could you ask !
Currently there is no shop on the complex but I believe that is a temporary thing; in any case, there are supermarkets just a stroll away at the top of the high-street and you can stroll to the town centre easily, on the flat, in fifteen mins.
Alisios is not a luxurious place but all the important things are good there and it gives very good value for money. We don't use the restaurant facilities at all so cannot comment on that side of things.
The best eating place by far in Corrolejo is called 5th Avenue but almost all the restaurants serve good food at reasonable prices. The Steak House and La Mama are highly rated. Autos Martell offer excellent car hire rates, if you go for two weeks it is nice to have a car to visit places like El Cotillo , Los Mollinos and Ajuy , away from the busy touristy areas. Driving is easy, the roads are mostly excellent and there is very little traffic. Watch your speed, there are police on motorcycles ! Be aware that your car insurances are void if you drive on any of the unmade non-tarmac roads.
Its a lovely island, Corrolejo is a lovely little town and Dunas Alisios is a good and convenient place to stay.

Submitted By: Miss L HirstStaff were very friendly. We were self catering so never ate in the complex.
10/10 for entertainment, especially the African footprints you must see this.
Pool was a bit chilly although it was ok when you got in. Apartment very clean, cleaners in every 2nd day changing towels, bed sheets and washing the floor.
I would return to this complex again, had a brilliant holiday, didnt want to come home.

Submitted By: Ms A AttrillThe apartments were clean, tidy and reasonably well appointed if a little basic. After reading the comments on this site I was beginning to panic about the cockroaches and burglaries, however no thefts that I am aware of and only the odd cockroach that was seen running around outside.
We felt every-one was very friendly and polite. The cleaners came in on regular basis, with clean towels and sheets. The pool was cleaned on a daily basis with the floor area being disinfected and then the sunbeds unstacked and put around the pool.
I personally didn`t feel the shopping experience was anything close to good, Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote is far better. The BEST place to eat was The Plaza Steakhouse which is set back slightly on the main strip. The staff were very friendly, pleasant, and polite all without being pushy. The food was the best!
We flew out with MyTravel airways which we feel have very comfortable planes with generous legroom and fantastic staff. We cannot be so complimentary of Thomas Cook however. They have obviously squeezed as many seats in as possible as the leg room is well, what leg room.
My husband is an average 5ft 10inches but was unable to close his legs due to the seat in front, I am only 5ft 4 inches, and my legs were touching the seat in front! Fortunately our flight home was delayed as some customers had been advised of the time change from 18.35 to 15.25 and some were not. Had this had not been delayed by 7hrs due to a mechanical fault then our flight would have gone without us.
However, if I wanted a very quiet holiday just sitting around the pool all day, then I would certainly consider the Los Alisios apartments and complex.

Submitted By: Mary bThey are in a good position about 5-10 mins to beach and even nearer to the main street. It is a nice small complex but ideal for children as you can keep an eye on them.
The apartments are quite spacious and a nice touch is the items they put in for your arrival. These were toiletries etc water tea and coffee so you could have drink on your arrival.
There are some changes this year as both Los Alisios and sister complex Dunas Caleta are merged. Los Alisios is now Dunas Alisios and the reception at Dunas Caleta is where you go to check in, as Dunas Alisios doesn't have a reception anymore.
The pool bar at Los Alisios started closing at 6o'clock in the evening but they must have had a rethink as it is now open till 12 again, but I don't know how long that will be for (hope it is still those times in Nov.
There are some good restaurants i.e. Slowboat11 on left had side going down the main street. It is in a square along with every type of restaurants are. An Indian called Bombay set back down behind the petrol station. La Mama follow the street where the taxis park down at the bottom of main street La Mamas on left had side only small downstairs but you can go upstairs.

Submitted By: Mrs S CockbainThe place is infested with cockroaches. Although the Canary Islands all have this problem, our rep Sean was totally dismissive as to why it was so bad at Los Alisios. We had a dozen or so (that we found) in our apartment over the duration of our holiday, but some of our neighbours found a few every day. There were also lots we noticed around the Los Alisios & Dunas Caleta pool areas. Each apartment is armed with a jumbo can of insect spray - use it! - and spray each night before you go out as it does help keep them at bay. If you want a sunbed by the pool, be prepared to put your towel out EARLY.
It had been 9 years since we last stayed at Corralejo and its changed so much since then. Slightly reminiscent of Blackpool, it’s now full of shops selling “tat" for us visitors & places that offer a full "English" breakfast. Avoid the Netta supermarkets which are a rip off and head further into town to Hyper Dino. For music you can't beat Rock Cafe on the main strip which also does excellent food, Rock Island for Acoustic Music & Imagine where Eric Sypestyn plays everything from Abba to Zappa! A day of Baku Water Park is also a must and great fun!
Would I go back to Corralejo - probably not, and certainly not to these apartments! But the weather did make up for it - 108 on our hottest day - don't use anything less than 25SPF as you'll burn to a crisp!

This is the first time we did all inclusive and we were please with our choice. As the euro wasn't value for money this year it was well worth the all inclusive deal.
The entertainment suits us as there is a mini disco which our kids love and Garry the entertainer makes you feel welcome and at home.
The apartments are basic however they are all a young family needs.
It's very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool areas are spacious and there are always enough sunbeds. Los Alisios is central to all your amenities.
If you are a young family then you will love it here. However both sets of our parents who are in their 50s and 60s have also been with us and have also said how much they enjoy it.
