" Great relaxing holiday. "

I stayed there with my family for two weeks, our party of people were spread within the age groups of between 18 - 30 and 55+
Albir Gardens is a clean, bright and open place, the staff, mainly spanish speaking, are all friendly and specially the Bar staff, who are always smiling and enjoying themselves. Whilst on previous reviews i have read that bar staff restrict the drinks to one per person, this is only true during very very busy periods, even then they are usually quite slack and dont usually mind giving more then one. however, i think some people may have read the notice stating that it was only one drink per person, and anticipated that these were the rules, i had no problem at all getting sometimes upto 8 drinks per time.
The food in the restaurant was usually very basic and I could only define it as Satisfactory there was medium selection which most of which stayed consistent throughout, it did have some variation over the time I had stay which included Italian nights, Mexican nights and other various styles of food.
For those that are Self catering, there is a supermarket across the road, which is always clean, tidy and contains just about everything you need ( especially the biggest selection of alcohol I have seen in some time! ) there are also a good selection of resturants a short walk away along the main strip.
Annoyingly my apartment was cleaned every morning at approximately 11am, whilst on holiday I personally like to have a lie in, but people who have been claiming they had no cleaners come may well have slept through the cleaners knocking and entering into the rooms. I had to ask the reception to cut down the amount of times my room had been cleaned as it was starting to cut into my sleeping time! However, the cleaners were usually very good, often cleaning up to almost spotlessness on most occasions - but occasionally it was a quick sweep, mop and replacing towels.
However, the hotel and the town of Albir is not really suited for the younger crowd of 18 - 30, Albir is a sleepy little town outside of Benedorm home to very few entertaining pubs ( Apart from the Dubliner across the road which stays open past 12, but is very expensive for drinks, on the plus side sells draft Guinness ) and is better suited for a quiet relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of life.
For those looking for more entertaining places, the Hotel usually host a childrens disco at 8:30 and then some form of adult entertainment after this. I found that a night in Benedorm was the best bet for the 18 - 30 crowd. To get to benedorm from Albir apartments usually costs about 12Euros and a Taxi from Benedorm usually costs about 10 euros. Most pubs and bars on New Street in Benedorm often had Promo girls and boys, these were the people to talk to and could arrange a free cocktail or a free shot, usually with free entry to the bar too. drinks can be expensive on the weekend, but during the week some places had special offers such as buy one get one free drinks.
On another note, there is Free internet wi-fi in the main lobby and the bar area, we were lucky enough to catch it within our apartment so this was always a plus point when checking emails and surfing the internet.

Advice: Beach is a good 10 min walk away from the hotel, it is a pebble beach but does have some great views

" We spent a week at this complex, and... "

We spent a week at this complex, and that was too much. The majority of customers there were spanish nationals, and any non-spanish were frowned upon.

Even the spanish children were aware of the foreigners present, and shouted comments in spanish at both ourselves and our children. The spanish parents didn't seem to care; either because they were unhappy to see foreigners in their resort, or because it is the way they always behave.

We found the staff very rude. On two occassions, I was left waiting at the reception desk while the two receptionists chatted. When I asked them to let me interrupt for a minute, one of them raised their eyes to heaven and said aggresively "What?"

The reason I was at the reception was to enquire as to why our room had not been cleaned in three days!

Definitely avoid Albir Garden Apts!

Always ask your travel agent for a resort that is mostly the same nationality as you. At least that way you can avoid any 'cultural' clashes! Our holiday was cheap, and we now know why!

" DO NOT STAY !!
it may look like... "

DO NOT STAY !!
it may look like a nice place..but when we got there.. checking in was a nightmre, the line was out the door, our rooms weren't ready, so, we had to wait 30 mins. when we got our room key.... we went to our apartment, it took us about 20 minutes to find it..
we got in our room: Block F 107
1) the air conditonig didn't work.
2) their was NO pots, pans, knifes, forks, cups etc.. in the kitchen!
3) the maid service was ridiculous, fresh towels twice a week
4) they let dogs and cats in the hotel!

for the amount of money we paid, we would expect better service
on the plus side, the facilities for children in the surronding area of the hotel were excellent

and luckily for us, we had a relative staying 5 minutes away in a villa, so we spent most of our time there

Albir is a lovely place, and the theme parks are fanastic

Reading some of these reviews of this resort has made me want to leave my comment . we came to albir gardens 6 years ago and we had a ball the entertainment was brilliant the staff wereso helpfull and amazing, it was a holiday which i never forgot . It was so good that this year we decided to revisit . WE found the complex had been maintained to the same highest standard some of the old staff were still there the entertainment was better than before . The pool area is spotless with 3 pools to enjoy a poolside bar and a snack bar for food . The receptionists were so helpful and professional. The buffet restaurant was delicious wot more can i say i would have no hesitation in recommending albir gardens as a great holiday resort for families or couples and i wiill definately return with my family.

" We returned one week ago from Albir... "

We returned one week ago from Albir Gardens.
We found the reception and bar staff very co operative. They worked their socks off with all the holiday makers! Ok, this is only a 3 star hotel and it is basic, but we enjoyed our stay. The appartment (H block) was cleaned every day. The air conditioning wasn't working initially but the reception sent someone to see to it immediately.(We had a heat wave 32-38c, so it was a god-send!) Our bathroom cupboard fell off as it was bumped by my hubby, they took it out of the way immediately but it wasn't replaced.
The all inclusive buffet was delicious, and catered for all tastes, loads of English food, pork, beef, lamb, chips every day, loads of veg, roasts etc...plus rice, pasta dishes, salads galore, fruit, puddings, yoghurts, ice cream etc. No one on here can complain about the food!!
We had a day trip to Valencia which was lovely (extra cost), and a free blanket trip too. We used the local buses (number 10) to Benidorm (opp side of road to hotel) and to Altea (same side) Enjoyed it all really!
The pool was quite busy, but it was adequate for a 3 star, clean and lots of sunbeds (although they are single moulded type, so not so comfy!)
The entertainment wasn't that good, if that is what you rely on when on holiday. It was fine for the kids.
We flew from East Midland airport on BMI planes. Thay are most comfy with good leg room!
A good place for a family break, but not the place if you expect luxury accomodation and entertainment!

" We just arrived at the airport on a... "

We just arrived at the airport on a hot, sunny, day in october. We got our suitcases from the collecting bay in the airport then went to get on our coach, that took us to the hotel. It was quite a long ride and the coach was warm, we just wanted to get our suitcases in our room and hang out sunbathing round the pool, if only it was that easy. We got there and we went to check in and the reception. Firstly the reseptionist spoke a different language and had to wait for someone and when someone finally came they told us that our room was'nt cleaned and that someone was still in the room. Then we was told we'd have to wait, we only thourght that we'd have to wait about five, ten muintes at the most, but no we had to wait for about and hour and a half. Something else that really anoyed us that a big group of germans came in after us and got served before us. After waiting around and having to go back and to complaining that we'd waited for ages they told us that we could'nt get the room we was suposed to have, instead they gave us a different room. The room was ok it was very basic with just a sofa bed, a tv and small dining table in the living room, next to the living room was a small kitchen consisting of a small frige, microwave, and a table top oven that was indeed very small, so we had to cook meals seperatley which was a pain because there was four of us in one roon one adult, two teenagers and a child. There was also a bed room leading of the living room for two people with two single beds. The bedroom was ok except most nights the people upstairs would bang and you could here them walking around which was a bit annoying when you'r tying to get sleep. The next day we went and sunbathed around the pool, the pool was freezing cold, there was bits in the water, wasps near by attacking you and dead wasps in the water. The larger pool was closed of because there was a flood a few days before, and there was sand and mud around the pool which made it very slippery and i slipped twice, the outside pool toilet had bugs in it and when i say bugs i don't just meean small ones but massive ones to.The pool bar was shut and it looked like it had been shut for ages because all that was in there was boxes and just junk really. We thought that it could'nt get any worse untill we was just about to cook when we were unably to due to the reason there was no pans and hardly any plates and bowls.Later on in the evening we were getting ready to go out when we noticed there was a cat at our balcony door, as our room was on the ground floor we did'nt really think about it untill the next morning when we got up and there was about three cats there at the door, near the end of the holiday we could'nt even open the door as there was about ten cats there at the end. There was no air conditioning and both jacuzzi were closed, the service was poor the food was extremly pricey and so was the drinks and the snacks. Also the maid knocked then walked straight in, i personally would'nt go to this holiday resort again and would'nt recommend it.

" A close friend of mine stayed here in... "

A close friend of mine stayed here in May. He discovered that €1,100 was stolen from his safety security box which was situated in the reception area. When he reported this to reception he was told that this does not happen. When he asked for CCTV footage of the area he was told there was none and they would not call the police for him. He reported the robbery to the police himself and was informed that another couple from England had had a large sum of money stolen from their safety deposit box also.

Avoid at all costs.

" Just arrived back from this resort.... "

Just arrived back from this resort.
We went with 4 adults & 5 children.
On the whole it was very good.
A few pieces missing from one apartment but this was rectified very quickly.
The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis.
The facilities were very good and the area was very nice.
Very close to the shopping and not too close to the rowdy side of Benidorm.
I would definitely recommend Albir Gardens for a very quiet and enjoyable family holiday.

" What a lovely place to stay. I have... "

What a lovely place to stay. I have actually had the peasure of this accomodation now on no less than 4 occasions. I am lucky enough to have spent a large chunk of my life on the Coasta Blanca as my parents own a villa in Altea (A quaint little market village just 4 miles down the road). Within Alfaz del Pi lies an ex pat cricket club and this is the reason for my stay, together with about 25 others at the Albir Gardens Apartments.

It is a very well laid out resort that allows for a hgh level of privacy, without huge mutistory buidings. Each seperate 'block' is no more than 3 floors high and has easy disabled access to the lower floor of each.

The pool and lounging area is very large for an accomodation of this size and moreover is very very clean and always tidy. There is also an indoor pool and health spa facility which is very handy indeed! This is my only gripe though as oe of the jacussi's was a little grubby, but this is no fault of the hotel just the users who simply do not shower before entering.

All in all i would recommend this hotel to anyone, yes its not a 4 star but it offers good comfortable surrounding with a pleasent atmosphere in the restraunts, bars and also the pool area. The facilities are all good and free to use and enables a good easy holiday.

" This is a late reveiw after our... "

This is a late reveiw after our holiday in August 07.On arrival at Albir Gardens we were in two minds about what the hotel had to offer. It didn't look very welcoming on the outside and looked like it needed a big makeover. As we were signing in we noticed the hotel was very crowded. We went to our room which was very clean and looked very modern which suprised us.The hotel rooms were simple the best thing was the air con (especially in 40 degree heat!) and a TV with eurosport and BBC1 on!! there was a kitchen,a dining table, sofabed, seperate bedroom and a balcony which was a good size. The hotel rooms were cleaned nearly everyday with regular bed and towel change. The hotel service was excellent and staff friendly. There was entertainment nightly which always stopped at midnight so people could get some sleep!! (even though the thunderstorms kept you awake anyway). The swimming pool was VERY crowded and very noisy with lots of foreign people almost no english at all which made us feel very alienated, the swimming pool area was also too small to accomodate the amount of people in the hotel. We had an amazing rep with mytravel called Richard he was extremly helpful and would do anything for you, he was a very friendly person and made us feel very comfortable where we were (What a legend!).Albir itself was ok the transport system was good with taxi and bus stops right outside the hotel. The beach was very nice although it was a long walk from the hotel. There is a supermarket opposite the hotel which is very good, and a restaurant we recommend called Bistro Maya Albir Mexican restaurant serving really good food and the waiters were really friendly. It is right near the beach and is worth the walk!Albir is very safe with lots of police around and a safe environment. The bad thing about Albir is the weather it was very miserable and overcast for about 4 days of our holiday which suprised us as it was August.Albir is nice but not traditional enough. Overall the hotel was ok and Albir was a bit disappointing we wouldn't go bck to Albir but do not let it put you off Spain as it is a really nice country! I hope this reveiw helped.

" Excellent hotel staff very friendly,... "

Excellent hotel staff very friendly, lobby and bar area always clean. Pool cleaned on a daily basis, plenty to do in and out of the hotel. If you visit this hotel recommend hiring a car and travelling a little bit more as there are plenty of excellent sites to visit. Plenty of bars and restaurants, easy to reach Benidorm for night life but excellent in the day. Would recommend this hotel to anyone really was good.
