Submitted By: Ms C WalshEven the spanish children were aware of the foreigners present, and shouted comments in spanish at both ourselves and our children. The spanish parents didn't seem to care; either because they were unhappy to see foreigners in their resort, or because it is the way they always behave.
We found the staff very rude. On two occassions, I was left waiting at the reception desk while the two receptionists chatted. When I asked them to let me interrupt for a minute, one of them raised their eyes to heaven and said aggresively "What?"
The reason I was at the reception was to enquire as to why our room had not been cleaned in three days!
Definitely avoid Albir Garden Apts!
Always ask your travel agent for a resort that is mostly the same nationality as you. At least that way you can avoid any 'cultural' clashes! Our holiday was cheap, and we now know why!

" DO NOT STAY !!
it may look like... "
it may look like a nice place..but when we got there.. checking in was a nightmre, the line was out the door, our rooms weren't ready, so, we had to wait 30 mins. when we got our room key.... we went to our apartment, it took us about 20 minutes to find it..
we got in our room: Block F 107
1) the air conditonig didn't work.
2) their was NO pots, pans, knifes, forks, cups etc.. in the kitchen!
3) the maid service was ridiculous, fresh towels twice a week
4) they let dogs and cats in the hotel!
for the amount of money we paid, we would expect better service
on the plus side, the facilities for children in the surronding area of the hotel were excellent
and luckily for us, we had a relative staying 5 minutes away in a villa, so we spent most of our time there
Albir is a lovely place, and the theme parks are fanastic

" We returned one week ago from Albir... "
Submitted By: Mrs K JohnsonWe found the reception and bar staff very co operative. They worked their socks off with all the holiday makers! Ok, this is only a 3 star hotel and it is basic, but we enjoyed our stay. The appartment (H block) was cleaned every day. The air conditioning wasn't working initially but the reception sent someone to see to it immediately.(We had a heat wave 32-38c, so it was a god-send!) Our bathroom cupboard fell off as it was bumped by my hubby, they took it out of the way immediately but it wasn't replaced.
The all inclusive buffet was delicious, and catered for all tastes, loads of English food, pork, beef, lamb, chips every day, loads of veg, roasts etc...plus rice, pasta dishes, salads galore, fruit, puddings, yoghurts, ice cream etc. No one on here can complain about the food!!
We had a day trip to Valencia which was lovely (extra cost), and a free blanket trip too. We used the local buses (number 10) to Benidorm (opp side of road to hotel) and to Altea (same side) Enjoyed it all really!
The pool was quite busy, but it was adequate for a 3 star, clean and lots of sunbeds (although they are single moulded type, so not so comfy!)
The entertainment wasn't that good, if that is what you rely on when on holiday. It was fine for the kids.
We flew from East Midland airport on BMI planes. Thay are most comfy with good leg room!
A good place for a family break, but not the place if you expect luxury accomodation and entertainment!

" Just arrived back from this resort.... "
Submitted By: Mrs J NewlandsWe went with 4 adults & 5 children.
On the whole it was very good.
A few pieces missing from one apartment but this was rectified very quickly.
The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis.
The facilities were very good and the area was very nice.
Very close to the shopping and not too close to the rowdy side of Benidorm.
I would definitely recommend Albir Gardens for a very quiet and enjoyable family holiday.

Submitted By: Mr J LloydIt is a very well laid out resort that allows for a hgh level of privacy, without huge mutistory buidings. Each seperate 'block' is no more than 3 floors high and has easy disabled access to the lower floor of each.
The pool and lounging area is very large for an accomodation of this size and moreover is very very clean and always tidy. There is also an indoor pool and health spa facility which is very handy indeed! This is my only gripe though as oe of the jacussi's was a little grubby, but this is no fault of the hotel just the users who simply do not shower before entering.
All in all i would recommend this hotel to anyone, yes its not a 4 star but it offers good comfortable surrounding with a pleasent atmosphere in the restraunts, bars and also the pool area. The facilities are all good and free to use and enables a good easy holiday.

Albir Gardens is a clean, bright and open place, the staff, mainly spanish speaking, are all friendly and specially the Bar staff, who are always smiling and enjoying themselves. Whilst on previous reviews i have read that bar staff restrict the drinks to one per person, this is only true during very very busy periods, even then they are usually quite slack and dont usually mind giving more then one. however, i think some people may have read the notice stating that it was only one drink per person, and anticipated that these were the rules, i had no problem at all getting sometimes upto 8 drinks per time.
The food in the restaurant was usually very basic and I could only define it as Satisfactory there was medium selection which most of which stayed consistent throughout, it did have some variation over the time I had stay which included Italian nights, Mexican nights and other various styles of food.
For those that are Self catering, there is a supermarket across the road, which is always clean, tidy and contains just about everything you need ( especially the biggest selection of alcohol I have seen in some time! ) there are also a good selection of resturants a short walk away along the main strip.
Annoyingly my apartment was cleaned every morning at approximately 11am, whilst on holiday I personally like to have a lie in, but people who have been claiming they had no cleaners come may well have slept through the cleaners knocking and entering into the rooms. I had to ask the reception to cut down the amount of times my room had been cleaned as it was starting to cut into my sleeping time! However, the cleaners were usually very good, often cleaning up to almost spotlessness on most occasions - but occasionally it was a quick sweep, mop and replacing towels.
However, the hotel and the town of Albir is not really suited for the younger crowd of 18 - 30, Albir is a sleepy little town outside of Benedorm home to very few entertaining pubs ( Apart from the Dubliner across the road which stays open past 12, but is very expensive for drinks, on the plus side sells draft Guinness ) and is better suited for a quiet relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of life.
For those looking for more entertaining places, the Hotel usually host a childrens disco at 8:30 and then some form of adult entertainment after this. I found that a night in Benedorm was the best bet for the 18 - 30 crowd. To get to benedorm from Albir apartments usually costs about 12Euros and a Taxi from Benedorm usually costs about 10 euros. Most pubs and bars on New Street in Benedorm often had Promo girls and boys, these were the people to talk to and could arrange a free cocktail or a free shot, usually with free entry to the bar too. drinks can be expensive on the weekend, but during the week some places had special offers such as buy one get one free drinks.
On another note, there is Free internet wi-fi in the main lobby and the bar area, we were lucky enough to catch it within our apartment so this was always a plus point when checking emails and surfing the internet.
Advice: Beach is a good 10 min walk away from the hotel, it is a pebble beach but does have some great views
