Nice apartments, quite clean but needed a decent fridge as ours wasn’t cold enough and didn’t keep foods very well chilled. Pool area was excellent and there is an excellent inexpensive snack bar and bar by the pool. Get your place by the pool early to avoid disappointment (well worth it).
Excellent restaurants nearby, shops and beach about a 10/15 min walk, hotel staff were excellent. Try not to get a room to close to entrance as entertainment goes on into the early hours and is quite noisy (unless your looking for a lively holiday!).
We were in it for a relaxing holiday, which was superb, but if you want a lively holiday this is for you as well. The night entertainment was very popular and packed out every night.
Best holiday I’ve had for a while

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Albir Gardens and loved it. We booked a late deal on the Internet and read some of the reviews on various sites, the reviews were mixed.
So we went with an open mind, from the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly; we met the night security guard who helped to carry our cases to our apartment.
The rooms were small but clean and adequate. We stayed in a ground floor flat and did not see any cockroaches. The pool area was nice and there were always sun beds available. My kids aged 5 and 7 loved the disco and most of the entertainment. Some of the shows were excellent and some a bit poor.
We went out into Albir more in the second week and it is a lovely place. Most of the meals we had were very good value. Ours and the kids favourite place to eat was the American diner. The tapas bar also did really good paella. We also found a nice pub called Casablanca run by a couple from Darlington.
We couldn’t keep our rooms on the last day but the showers were working and they provide you with towels. Take a trip to Terra Mittica it is awesome. We would go back tomorrow if we could and we only came back today. Albir itself is quiet but friendly and Benidorm is only an 85-cent bus ride away on the number 10 bus from the hotel. We hope to go back next year.

A great week away, allocation on arrival, we were happy with the apartments, food, value and entertainment. The only downfall of this holiday was the price of alcoholic and branded soft drink prices in nightclubs/bars. 3 euros for beer, 3 euros for spirit and 3 euros for soft drink (250ml) or water(250ml). So that’s 6euros for a spirit with mix, you get the idea.
The shopping in Benidorm is worth the trip alone, with lots of Spanish designer clothes, and much cheaper than the UK. The Theme Park (Terra Mitica) is amazing too, again, great value for money. Highly recommended.

Reading the last June 2004 review I am very surprised me and my boyfriend went June 19th for my 21st birthday and we really enjoyed it ok the hotel did have a light hanging from the wires and the freezer was so frozen we spent 2 hours defrosting it! but apart from that nothing too major. One thing though there is no air con so make sure you get a fan better of buying one only 9 euros in Benidorm shops. Very expensive to rent from hotel. We found the hotel staff friendly and helped us find our way around.
To be honest I thought the Airtours reps were useless they didn’t know where anything was only interested in what excursions they were promoting!
Benidorm was ok same old shops everywhere you look if your planning to eat out make sure you visit Tony Romas the food is gorgeous and not badly priced we paid e45.00 for two three course meals and drinks it gets really busy so get there around 7pm.
Mundomar is well worth a look its a sea marine park fantastic dolphin shows.

Myself and my boyfriend went to Albir Gardens in June 2004, when we first arrived I was very surprised at how small the rooms were, no way would it have slept 3 never mind 2! The room was run down and in need of repair, the electric sockets hung of the wall on the light attachment was swinging. The fridge was rusty, dirty, and had to be forced closed.
When we went down to reception to hire a key for the safety deposit box in our room we were told it was out of order but we could rent one in the reception, I found it funny that there wasn’t one box in the entire complex that was in order!
It was just as well we didn’t have kids with us as all the entertainment is in Spanish including the kids disco. They have their own entertainment staff, which means not the usual Airtours things, which the kids enjoy, the entertainment staff also spoke very little English and mimed to the songs.
We were on the third floor but still had problems with cockroaches, however it wasn’t until we were talking to couple and young child who were on the bottom floor that they told us they were constantly killing them in their room. For older children their entertainment were two pool tables. The pool area was well kept and I think the pool was cleaned regularly although we didn’t use the hotel much and really only slept in our rooms. A taxi costs about 8 euro into Benidorm and Benidorm was great.
Some of the reception staff were not helpful at all, and when we asked when we arrived if we could keep our room on the last day we were told to come back on the day, we did and were then told that we should of came the day before! We had to leave our rooms at 12pm and our coach didn’t leave until 11pm (a very long day). They did however have a room to put our luggage in and told us there were showers if we needed them, but when we did want to use them we were told they were out of order! Surprise surprise.
When the coach finally arrived we were last to be picked up and there was no room for most of the people in our hotel and had to squeeze in awkwardly with our hand luggage.
I personally will not be returning to Albir Gardens and suggest that anyone thinking about it should think carefully and perhaps think about accommodation in Benidorm!!!!!!

Albir Gardens is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. There was entertainment laid on every night, a great pool area, everything you would look for on holiday.
The apartments were clean and tidy albeit a tad small, but who goes on holiday to sit in an apartment!
There was a buffet available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, basically you would not have to leave the apartment complex if you didn’t want to for all your food and entertainment (which was also excellent).
Its great for kids and older people. I would definitely recommend it.

Family orientated hotel, rooms bit on small side but acceptable, beautiful gardens and pool area. Staff generally helpful, easy access to Benidorm, Altea and Albir beaches. Plenty of excursions available. Locally, great variety of very inexpensive restaurants and bars, to suit every taste!
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t too good, it rained! But we had a very enjoyable holiday and were able to make plenty of sightseeing trips.

Albir Gardens, Wow. All I can say about this holiday is that it has something for everyone it really does the staff and management are so kind and considerate. The pool was nice the pool area was nice everything was clean and tidy and the food there was amazing too.
There are busses like every 5 minuets even after 6 folks that take you to and from Benidorm but the taxi fair is not that dear too great scenery well worth going.
In the future I am hoping to return there it was amazing would just love to live there.
10/10 from me, Albir you make Spain and me proud.

As no air conditioning, hire of fans essential. Expensive to hire for the whole holiday and fan was not very efficient and kept breaking. No other fans for exchange as all hired and not enough fans to go around.
Litter outside entrance to apartment was there for the whole fortnight.
Sheets and towels in room were threadbare and not very clean, i.e. stained and dirty looking. Rooms very small and badly in need of decorating and updating. Had to clean up the ant invasion every evening on our return.
Food in dining room not very appetising and fairly expensive when compared to the various, and generally excellent, restaurants in the area.
Would not recommend the place, very noisy at night when the bar/lounge turns out; a lot of noisy drunk groups walking back to their apartments in the early hours.
WOULD recommend Albir however, a lovely little resort, good shops, restaurants etc. Loved the beach despite the pebbles. Altea along the coast is also very good to visit.

Brilliant holiday, the one bedroom apartments were abit small but the complex was very family orientated there was great entertainment at night and there was restaurants near by. we got a Chinese for the four of us and drinks for 25 euro.
Benidorm is only a 15 minute bus ride away but it was so big and busy we did not go in much only during the day as the beach was beautiful. I would definitely go back to the Albir Gardens.

Went Saturday-Saturday.
Apartments were clean, but small (would have no more than 4 sharing). As it was very hot whilst we were there the apartments were very warm at night - there is no air conditioning, but we managed. The pool was good but the pool area could have been cleaner. Not enough brollys for everyone and they were needed! Use anti-mosquito spray before you leave for the pool as most folk were bitten between 5 and 6pm by the pool. One man had 33 bites and counting! Take your mosquito plug for your apartment as well.
Good evening entertainment (the Beatles were brilliant) and the prices at the bar were very reasonable.
Used the restaurant in the complex and this was very good. Breakfast 5.40euros and evening meal 9.20euros. You can upgrade to half-board, but barter with reception as a family we spoke to got it for 12euros a day. Restaurants in Albir itself were good, especially the Biblios (I think it was called that) restaurant for a steak.
The No.10 bus was brilliant taking you everywhere and arriving every 10 minutes or so. Air-conditioned too!
Must Do’s: A trip into Benidorm, all kids must go to Aqualandia, get the train to Calpé for a nice town and lovely beach, use the supermarket down the road on the left, much cheaper and more choice and if you have your own brolly take it with you!
