Well the hotel wasnt that bad .. but to be honest the resort borovets is mainly aimed at alcohol. If your a drinker and going with mates then go here but if your a family with children i wouldnt recomend it. I went Christmas 2009 with my partner and im only 18 so i should have enjoyed the young life style but i thought it was over the top and prices for anything were rediculous. If your going skiing with family go somewere which is based on kids cause this one isnt !! Also it wasnt a proper christmas dinner was some cheese on chicken as the main course all together wasnt very christmasy! any questions on this hotel please feel free to contact me on holley_baybee@hotmail.com

My wife, myself and two friend have just returned from the Iglika Villas, small wooded chalets in the grounds of the Iglika Hotel.
The apartment was very small with little storage, it is sold on the basis of suiting 4 -6 people, however four people were plenty in the space provided. Decor was somewhat tired and furniture & fittings rather worn. However it was clean and functional and when considering the cost you could hardly be disapointed.
The villa was well sited in relation to the slopes, gondola and resort centre, location was perfect as it was within 100 yards of all the facilities but offset away from the road and main resort strip to be quiet and peaceful at night.
The hotel food was very poor; however we spoke to people staying in other hotels and this seemed a common theme in Borovets, locally food was very cheap and a good breakfast could be had for £4/person including drinks.
This is a great resort for adults and fun loving families with kids. It would also suit groups. The snow at the top of the mountain was always reasonable, lower down was icey and some runs were closed. This was largely our fault for booking late in the season (2nd week of March).
We'd definately go back but would stay self catering next time. For the cost you simply can not beat this package deal. The resort has a charm and charactor also and is unspoilt by massive ugly hotels.

Second time to Borovets so far, 1st time at the Iglika - would go back.
Booked with Inghams who had the best deal at the time and the rep's are very professional.
The hotel is in a quite location situated behind the Rila Hotel which is at the bottom of the main slopes; therefore Iglika is just a short distance from the slopes through the Rila hotel. Ski equipment can also be hired here.
Hotel rooms are comfortable with TV, telephone, minibar, shower/bath and wc.
The hotel has a small cheap bar, a lounge, a TV room, an indoor pool, a fitness room, a games room and restaurant, where breakfast and evening meals are served.
Meals are buffet style with plenty of choice for a small hotel and regular checks are made by waitresses and waiters, although they aren't at all friendly or happy.
Borovets is prefect for those who are beginners to intermediates and on a budget and for those who want lively après ski.
We recommend Deno's bar above the karaoke bar opposite the Rila Hotel, which is on the rep's bar crawl including many more bars, or maybe some more skiing by night.
The resort also has a selection of cafe/restaurants and gift shops are plenty.
During the day there's of cause the slopes including the crowded nursery slopes in front of the Rila hotel, or up the gondola for the more experienced skier/boarder (10 min walk).
Tenpin bowling in the Samokov Hotel a short walk in the centre, and not forgetting skidoo's, horse drawn carriage rides (day & night), folk nights and excursions to Rila monastery and the Capital Sofia.
Hope this help's you to have a wonderful holiday; we have booked why you don’t?

Fantastic skiing holiday, friendly people and cheap village/town.
Runs to suit every person, majority are red/black but there are many greens and blues
Going back next year except boarding this time
Hotel was reasonable for what we paid for it, food was horrible so I advise to anyone going that they should eat out. No need to put up with hotel food.

Situated behind the Rila in Borovets, a smaller hotel with a cosy bar and lounge area- ideally close to the slopes and the ski depot at the Rila (ski equipment not good!)
Can be a bit noisy when folk come in early morning (have a good drink!)
four star an Three star accomadation available, four star not bad- bathrobes, mini bar/fridge and balcony in spacious rooms but food very basic but edible!
Decent hotel, but dont expect a palace!
