Hotel Magic Cristal Park
, BenidormHotel Magic Cristal Park reviews
Theres alot which needs to be improved yet i cant stop going. its central location and chaotic nature is wierdly compelling. the kids clubs are windowless cells but because theres other stuff nearby you can keep yourself entertained but at a cost all inclusive should mean precisely that. the pool on the roof is nice but needs a lifeguard to control the rowdy kids and need more reception staff to hurry the check in up all in all great base we'll be black in august

just come back from this hotel for the 3rd time, had a good room overlooking the park at the back of the hotel ,room supplied with fridge and tv with limited british channels ,the bathroom is basic with a tiny bath.the restaraunt is very good sized serving plenty of hot and cold dishes both english and spanish, the magic cafe is a good night out with andy and anne marie providing the entertainment of live music, karaoke, quizzes and just good fun, with anita and trevor behind the bar giving good service all night, the only down side to this hotel is the roof top pool and sun bathing area
would just like to add as previous reviewer puts the bingo is a complete rip off a 10 euro bottle of vodka and they take in well over 100 euros

good hoilday, hotel was ok and gr8 location, near the beach!
room: was clean but basic and we had no balcony, (although we didn't complain, maybe if we had we might of been moved but could be ***** with the mither)
food: basic canteen food , somes it up. some of it was lovely but it was abit hit was hit and miss really.
staff: very friendly and helpful.
yes there are a lot of spanish people (older) staying in the hotel, and yes they do have their own restaurant but it is no different to the english one. so your not missing out.
yes some of them are rude but some of them are nice and made a fuss of my 6 year old lad, so a bit like us btits you get some nice people and some rude ones!
overall not a bad place to stay, you get what you pay for, although it is very good value for money where else can you stay for 20 quid a night with all your food and drink!
WOULD RECOMMEND UPGRADING TO A GOLD CARD!!! so you can have the better vodka ect ( stoli, smirnoff) its an extra 6 euros a day each only catch, all adult members of the party must upgrade. you can upgrade at any time but once you have, you have to pay the 6 euros each untill you checkout. we only up graded on the second to last night best thing we did just wished we had done it sooner.

Just back from the Magic Cristal Park yesterday never again will I go to this groups hotels. Booked the Magic Rock but sent to the Villa De Benidorm as we were told at the last minute it was closed for a refurb. The Villa De Benidorm was awful. The tv in the room had no buttons left, the patio doors would not lock the whole hotel is dated and needs knocked down. The food was bad with little choice the bar smells of sewerage there is a lack of seats and if you go down in the evening expect to stand. The bar is tiny and you never get a set in it. It was so bad we had to move to the Magic Cristal Park.
The rooms here were a complete joke, last decorated in the 1970's by the look of it. The shower is in the bath which is very slippy when wet, I slipped and fell out of it backwards on to the floor tiles. I reported my back injury to reception but they said that they don't provide slip proof mats for the bath and I should have stood on a towel inside the bath! They were more interested in the water everywhere and the shower curtain being pulled down than my injury, or safety. The magic cafe also stinks of sewerage and they seem to have quizzes every night to waste time. Some of the staff are nice but other than that nothing good to say about this hotel group.

Just returned from a short get away with my partner, it was a surprise for her birthday.. Well, what a surprise it turned out to be.
Firstly, when we first arrived we had to wait for someone to get a English speaking staff. (Which we still couldn't understand) Finally got to the room, found the double bed was two beds pushed together. And a random camp bed just flung down in the corner of our room. Plastic chair to sit on, and for the first time in my life i've found a hotel room without a balcony. In all justice, the rooms were very well cleaned, and we never experienced, bugs or uncleanliness.
The guests that were stopping were 95% Spanish, and if you attempted to go to first floor bar you were harshly and rudely pushed out.. Only for the Spanish, we were sent downstairs. To the 'Magic Cafe' which was NOT magic at all. Spanish guests are VERY, VERY, VERY rude and ignorant. Just grunted, and pushed us out of the way and ran into the lifts.
- Plenty of food, and snacks.. But didn't have one meal what was warm.
Over-all, I wouldn't stay at this hotel, EVER again. The all inclusive wasn't worth it. Benidorm its self was a great holiday, but not at the magic cristal park.. There is NOTHING magic about it.
KEEP THE CRISTAL PALACE FOR THE SPANISH - GO ELSE WHERE.
ps.
Wayne if you read this, shepherds pie was instant smash and tin of mince. Do not know what you have at home.. But god.. Never again.

We didn't really enjoy our time at this hotel. It is just so impersonal that you don't feel as though you are part of things. It is just the sheer numbers, mostly elderly Spanish pensioners who get a 'free week' every year from the state. Nothing against them of course as they are very friendly but they are just everywhere you turn. You really need traffic lights to control the volume.
The Magic Cafe bar was certainly a haven although we usually try to visit Spanish places when in Spain.
One thing that did annoy us is the growing practice of short changing. Perhaps it has always been there and we never noticed. Perhaps it was because so many Brits were on the 'all inclusive' where no money was changing hands. And the Spanish pensioners weren't spending either as they were on a 'free week' paid for by the state. They can apply for this outwith the summer months.
We were on half board and paid for all drinks and snacks and several barmen in particular we had to avoid because we knew what was coming. The 20 euro is a target for them, but then so is the fifty. If you keep your hand out, the ten or whatever usually drops into it fairly quickly. Because you don't talk Spanish, they think you won't complain! Sometimes a gin and tonic was 4 euros and at other times it was 14 euros or more!
We had no problems in the downstairs bar, but it does happen in the 'street' bar and the 'Spanish' bar next to the reception. I can only advise you to take care! Having said that, we were short changed in bars and restaurants in other parts of the resort as well.
The food was excellent with a wide variety of all kinds of dishes. One thing though. There seems to be a split here in that the Spanish eat in the upper restaurant, and the Brits and French in the lower restaurant. The upper one is usually extremely busy. Chaotic might be the word. But the lower is a haven of tranquillity.
The kitchen and cleaning staff were all very friendly, although the staff at reception were not particularly friendly nor helpful but then they are extremely busy. The room was fine with a fantastic view overlooking the park. If you want a handset for the TV you pay a refundable 20 euros. TV reception was pretty poor. We really enjoyed the upstairs pool, although some folk tend to hog the jacuzzi. We never once got a chance to try it. The location of the hotel is central but it is on a very busy thoroughfare.
As I say we won't be rushing back.

Please dont believe all the good reviews they cant possibly be true. This hotel was awful, the rooms smelt, the air con dripped all night long , there were cockroaches in the resturant. This hotel is for the Spanish who are very very rude indeed. They pushed in at the bars and at the lifts which didnt work properly, even the local taxi drivers who were very nice said that this hotel is nick named The Magic Crap Hotel of Benidorm.
The magic cafe downstairs was the bet bit about this holiday and the group of girls who were dressed as Marylin monroe.

i went to the hotel bery optomistic, but there were some dow side the food was not the bst quality because we went into the downstairs restaraunt, the room was not the best but all you really do is sleep, bath/shower unless your going to spend your whole holiday in the room then you will be disapointented the trains for the toilet did tend to stink abit but only during the day so i didnt really find it a problem the staff were very friendly, and the magic cafe was brilliant you didnt have to walk far for entertainment i will be booking again. The atomsphere was brilliant but i would avoid booking in febuary or march because the hotel is over run with spainish, and the coffee in the bar was to be desired the only time i got a decent coffee was in the magic cafe

Stayed here april 2012,found the service to be very good, with all the staff working hard, but with one hand tied behind their backs due to lack of investment. Magic Crystal Park is well located for the beach and the old town. The promo rooms are small, but they were kept very clean, beds made, clean towels etc.,every day, limited english channels on t.v.
It should be borne in mind that the cost per day is less than a british hotel offering room only, whereas here you have three meals a day and all (named) drinks from Rioja wine thro to Bacardi etc.,
Great fresh coffee in the bar, ask for coffee espagnol, learn some basic Spanish this is Benidorm not Blackpool, the Spanish will appreciate this, come on fellow brits, pleased remember you are the foreigners here.
We found the food to be very good, with the Spanish food being very nice and authentic, whilst british tastes are well catered for as far as it is possible to accomodate some awkward brits, who might be better off going to Bournemouth or some such place.
The entertainment in the Magic Cafe, provided by Andy and Anne Marie was better than some acts we saw in the new town hotels and venues, good entertaiment provided in a warm and friendly manner, also must not forget Anita, she works very hard to serve you quickly.
Regarding the prominence of Spanish at the hotel, hey guys this is Spain, the upside being that the Spanish do not tolerate rubbish food being offered, remember the old adage, eat where the locals eat. Hope to book this hotel again in September.
