" Nice small resort and villa’s are... "

Nice small resort and villa’s are in a position that is not far up the hill and still in a residential area. The 2 advertised villa’s were being refurbished so we stayed in a sister villa. Very well equipped. The only draw back was the set out. The downstairs games room was not suitable to sleep in as a bit damp and away from the main bedrooms. We would not of been happy for two kids to sleep that far away from the adults, and I wasn’t going to give up a proper bed. We had little privacy at night as each child’s trundle bed was moved into the adults bedroom. The bedrooms were big enough though.

Each bedroom had a locking door but to an outside walk way. The kitchen and lounge area had another locking door that faced outside. The bathroom had to be kept locked at night as this was also separate. Not ideal as you had to unlock two doors and walk outside to go loo in the night.

Pool was a nice size and very private (don’t think the advertised villa are in such a good position though).

Used the pool table and whirl pool bath in the downstairs part of the villa. This was a good place to escape from the sun.

Hire car was included in the price of the villa, however, ensure the car will seat the whole party. Get it in writing before you travel.

The island is lovely and feel we have visited most of it in a fortnight. The roads are all new. Be warned, the local police will watch out for you crossing or overtaking around road works and will fine you.

Also be careful when visiting the sand dune beaches as are car had to be pulled out of the sand. More expense.

The Zoo on the island is a full day out and great value for money. Don’t take a packed lunch as it's too far to go back to the car and the restaurants on site are good value.

The resort would be too boring if you spent the whole fortnight there but having a hire car made the holiday varied.

I would not like to have stayed in the bungalows close by to the villa’s, these seemed full of ants.

I would go back to the villa’s another year but feel like we’ve seen the whole of the island for the time being. It is a shame Portland don’t have any other villa’s because this holiday was great value for money.
