If you want a beautiful hotel, extra -friendly staff, a beautiful view and good value for your money HOTEL KOUROS is the place to stay. I visit Mykonos twice a year and always chose Kouros as my "home away from home". Since the hotel opened more than 10 years ago I have been a guest. This May I had the most amazing travelling experience ever!! This hotel made it greater than expected. The room was fantastic, very clean and had a great view and incredible design. My fiance and I enjoyed the sunset either from the balkony of our room or in the pool sipping into marvellous cocktails from Stavros' hands!! The service in general was more than satisfying and there were times that the people at the front desk would get out of their way just to satisfy our demands. This was our 5th time at the Kouros. We stayed in room 41 having always stayed in room 44 on previous trips. Both of these rooms are large, light and airy. We have never seen any bugs - except for a few mosquitos which are unavoidable. Breakfast is American buffet style. Fresh fruit, tinned fruit, yoghurts, juice, cakes, too many pastry things to mention, cerrals, fried and scrambled eggs, savoury cheese ham and mushroom crepes, bacon, sausages, olives, cheese, cold meats, breads, sweet crepes...............Staff would produce... more

The property is very nice, but our room was nothing special. It was dated and very dark there was hardly and sunlight plus there were a lot of bugs in it (roley poleys, mosquitos, moths). It did have a DVD player, which was nice since they let you borrow dvds at the front desk. Also, it's a dangerous walk to town up/down a hill on a road that's big enough to be one way but is 2 ways. We were three gay couples touring Greece for two weeks and we spent four nights at the Kouros in early May. We had forgotten to call ahead to get a ride from the ferry, but when we called on arrival, they sent someone right away. Because the hotel is a short walk to town, it felt quieter than some others we saw. The hill-side rooms reminded me of an Incan pyramid, but this meant that most rooms had wonderful ocean views. Every evening at sunset we would gather on the veranda outside our rooms and enjoy local wine, cheese and crackers.... more

We were a party of 8, 4 couples from Australia in Mykonos to celebrate a special birthday, and thrilled to stay at the Hotel Kouros. The staff were welcoming and our rooms were excellent. The only complaint was that the music around the pool was VERY loud but they did turn it down when asked. Our drinks at night from our balcony watching the sunset were a highlight of our time in Greece. Some had been touring around mainland Greece and some had been in Athens but we all agreed that the Hotel Kouros was a wonderful place to meet up.... more

This hotel is terriffic. We had a terrible time getting a last minute reservation at any hotel in Mykonos prior to leaving for our trip. When we arrived in Greece, we found an ad for the Kouros Hotel in the Gay Guide, Sparticus. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and the room was very spacious with an excellant bathroom. Couldn't have asked for more. This hotel is VERY gay friendly as well.

Just so you know where we're coming from, we visitied Mykonos at the end of July '05. We are two married couples in our early thirties. We also visited Santorini(you are welcome to read our review on the Santorini Princess). At the end of our trip we all agreed that we had the best time in Mykonos. I was slightly hesitant to book this hotel based on some very cryptic comments from another reviewer, but on the theory that you ignore the best and worst comments I gave it a shot. Was not disappointed and didn't have any problems with valuables, police, etc. (Read the comment above. It's odd.) We ended up staying 6 nights without any problems.
