Palazzo Selvadego Hotel

My Wife & I are first time visitors to Venice. Location was great and that made it easy to find our way back to hotel. Around the corner and WOW, St. Marc's Square! Staff was great and euro type breakfast at Monaco was what I expected. Everything We encountered during our three days was unique & magical. The Hotel made it very special. The room size was fine and besides, we spent the next 2 weeks in a cruise ship cabin. That made me appreciate the space we had, ha, ha. Bravo to the Palazzo Sel Selvadego!!

This hotel was the best value. We knew going into Venice that most everything would be pricey. Palazzo del Selvadego was so romantic and in such a great location it was worth every penny. You wouldn't even know the hotel is there unless you were shown. That's what is so great about it being connected with the Hotel Monaco. You check in at the Monaco which is plain sight from the water taxi and then a bellman takes you and your luggage to the Selvadego. Would stay here again for sure!

Stayed for 2 nights at Palazzo Selvadego. The room was small but cozy. It is a small hotel with a very central location, just steps from San Marco. The concierge was great, especially with restaurant recommendations. Easy check in and check out at the Hotel Monaco. Breakfast was at Hotel Monaco, it was inconvenient and awful. Hotel staff (both Selvadego and Monaco) were helpful.

Stayed for two nights 5th and 6th October. Check in at the main hotel Monaco is lovely, nice reception area. It was raining cats and dogs and we were escorted to our hotel and was relieved to be lent complimentary umbrellas. We had booked a superior room, which was very spacious, clean, modern and had a compact but high quality bathroom (two sinks, bidet, wc and walk in double shower). My partner and I just came back from our first 2-week trip to Italy-- bookended by three nights at the Palazzzo Selvadego at the start and one night at the end. It was terrific in every sense. Altho there are probably few bad locations in Venice, it was pretty brainless to get there by Alilaguna or water taxi from the airport, or by Vaporetto to the train station or to other nearby destinations like Murano. My husband and I found the Palazzo del Selvadego to be the most special hotel in Venice. It is in an unbelievable position just seconds from St Marks square. The best part is it is a sister hotel to Monaco grand canal.We checked in and out at the Monaco and you have breakfast there everyday. The breakfast is set looking onto the canal and is very romantic. Our room was small but so is every hotel room in Italy. The staff were so helpful unlike the rest of the Italians. My grouop stayed at the Hotel Selvadego (“wild man”), which is part of the Monaco and Grand Canal Hotel. Housed in another old palazzo (as are most hotels in Venice), you turn left out the street door (as opposed to the canal entrance) of the Monaco onto Gucci-Pucci row, turn right at Sisley, left at Louis Vuitton, go past a tantalizing view of San Marco, and head straight for Ermengildo Zegna, which covers the entire first floor of the Selvadego and where the secure entrance is located. The Palazzo del Selvadego is part of the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal. It is located right of St Marks Square which makes it an ideal location from which to explore Venice. It is in the heart of the high end shopping area of Venice and a two-minute walk from the water ferries that takes you around Venice and the airport. The location couldn't be closer to San Marco square, but the room was so quiet! Lovely modern but rustic decoration to the room, with beams above and wooden flooring below. The bathroom had a great shower / bath and the cleaning service was great. Going to sister hotel for breakfast was not a problem - very close and lovely view of gondolas. We got really good value deal on this great little nugget. Easy to find from water bus station at San Marco and staff very helpful throughout our stay. It is very dificult to chose a hotel in Venice. I went to Venice on March 3rd under a Snow Storm (not what expected). I didn't have a map and I found the hotel very easy. The rooms are large and nice, and the bathroom...one of the greatest I've seen in Europe. The breakfast is in the Monaco Grand Canal Hotel..right beside the Grand Canal....beautiful!!! Look no more..this is excellent choice. I'll be back!!!!
