My wife and I went Skiing to Niederau in February and were a little skeptical of having to stay at the Pension Diane. But, when we arrived, we were greeted by extremely friendly staff and our whole stay was great.
The food wasn't 5-star, but then we never expected it to be. We had a fantastic time there, the facilities were good and it was a great family atmosphere with a fantastic location right in the heart of the skiing village. We would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was really quiet, warm and the owner Roland Siesl was very welcoming friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, four courses each night freshly cooked by Hans the chef including different vegetables each night. The bar prices were reasonable. It is very well located for the ski school and gondola as well as a supermarket and other shops and bars in the village. There is a large TV room with DVD player, but take your own DVD's.
Great ski storage area. The week we were there only three out of the 23 rooms were occupied but I still think it would be good even if it had been fuller. Room was cleaned daily with comfortable beds and plentiful supply of towels and warm water. Great place for families as it is like staying in someone's home not a hotel, very relaxing. Booked through First Choice but hotel does take direct bookings and Roland will then meet you at the airport.
We arrived late on first night due to flight delays but Roland and Hans were there with a hot meal for us and welcoming smiles, great start to a holiday.

Our room was cold, we were given 2 single duvets on a double bed instead of a double duvet, the food quality wasnt great although the chefs appeared to try their best with the ingredients...as one reviewer already said its not a place to go if you want Austrian cuisine. Also allegedly one of the staff was topping up expensive wine bottles with cheaper wine. I recommend you ask for a sealed one!
Also be aware that the only mountain in walking distance is Neiderau - which doesnt keep you busy for very long - and the only place easily accessible via the local free skibus is Auffach, anywhere else means you have to change on skibuses a few times or pay inflated prices to hire your own bus or car!
On the plus side the staff are pretty friendly, and there's a spar just round the corner.
