i stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks. In this time the hotel tried to charge me for drinks i had not had. I had 100 lire stolen from my room bearing in mind that this money was in my pockets in the wardrobe. i went to the pool i came back 5 minutes later and the money was gone. Dont ever go here EVER worst holiday ever.

We returned yesterday from 2 weeks at the Pelin Hotel. We had a FANTASTIC time in this very friendly and clean hotel. The staff were incredible and always had time for our son (taking him off to fetch ice creams, fruit etc at no cost to us). They were never too busy to pay him attention and make a fuss of him.
The rooms are small and basic but cleaned every day, towels are changed daily and beds were changed about 4-5 times during our stay. The maids were lovely and would leave my night clothes aranged in patterns on the bed as they did with the towels! There was always hot water and the shower was very powerful. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom and you can hire a fridge for 50 Turkish lira for the 2 weeks. The free air con was great and really welcome in the 50+ degree heatwave that we had!!!
The pool was immaculate as was the pool area and there were plenty of sunbeds, parasols etc.
Meals were good, maybe could have done with a bit more variety for the children and smaller portions to buy from the pool side restaurant. Drinks a little bit more expensive than down at the beach front but thats quite normal in hotels. The card payment scheme was a good idea and we were never over charged or never had a problem with this (we paid each morning for the previous days bits but you can do it at the end of your stay if you wish).
Thanks to Zeke, Abdullah, Omar, Tanju, Mehmet, Ahmet, Eda, Yusef, Volkan, 'Chef' and the rest of the staff for a fantastic 2 weeks. See you again next year!
***Oh, and look out for the Turtles, Snakes and other wildlife in the river/stream that runs parallel to the Hotel. Amazing***

I am a 45 female, travelling alone and stayed at this hotel for a week in July, it cost £316 H/B, including transfers, booked with sunshine.co.uk and would do again.
Hotel was about 5 minute walk to Calis beach front where most of the restaurants are, absolutely fantastic to just sit eating your meal watching the beautiful sunsets, especially in The Terace.
The hotel was immaculately clean, I had a double room to myself! It had a small balcony inc chairs and table, tv, small but very clean bathroom. You will need to take your own travel kettle if your like me and need a coffee first thing! Air con was that good I had to turn temp UP! And it was free. Maids are lovely and in typical Turkish style, arrange your towels on beds in butterfly shapes with flower petals, sweet! Breakfast was Turkish style, there wasn't a great deal of choice for evening meal, but I enjoyed it all the same. Waiters are very friendly (as are all staff here), without going over the top and go all out to make your stay an enjoyable one. I ordered a bottle of wine one night with my meal, only had 1 glass, they put my room No on it. The next night I went for tea, it was ready for me in an ice bucket with rose petals on the table, they saved this table for me all week! In summer months, you have your evening meal on the rooftop, very nice! Pool area is apacious, but a real sun trap in hotter months, no breeze at all. Some days I used pool and loungers at hotel opp beach, they don't mind, this as long as you buy a few drinks etc from there, you then get a lovely breeze! Beach is not brilliant, very shingly and not the cleanest of beaches, but I prefer the pool anyway. If you want to walk along the sea, do take a pair of those cheapy croc shoe things, as the tiny stones really hurt your feet and you sink into them!
It's good to take the boat taxi over to Fethiye and watch the sunset, it's stunning. I went over one night and had my meal over there, cost of boat taxi, I think is 5TL ret. If you would like the best pedicure yuo have had, go to Hotel Gunes on beachfront, only cost 12TL, about £6, I paid £30 in UK the week before and was nowhere near as good!
I would definateley reccommend this hotel!
Oh, and forgot to mention the singing frogs! On way back to hotel at night, if you follow the canal road (adjacent to beachfront), there are really high reeds, there are 1000'sof frogs in here, they are so loud, it's really funny, I couldn't believe the noise they made, as if they really were singing!
This was my 4th time in Calis, i'm sure you will return, it's such a laid back resort, I LOVE IT!!!

Just returned from a week at this hotel, we did not book this hotel but ended up here due to our original hotel being overbooked! Overall a very pleasant hotel to stay in a good location.
Pool was very nice and of a good size and cleaned daily, the rooms were clean and uncomplicated, balcony was a bit small but adeqate, air-conditioning in rooms was free, tv and hairdryer also included, hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Hotel although full was quiet and relaxing mainly due to only 25% of the residents being British! the other 75% were German and Dutch.
Food was below average which lets this hotel down and was mainly aimed at the German holidaymakers comprising of typical turkish / continental breakfast however, Calis Beach is only across the main road which was difficult to cross due to high curbs! and there were plenty of resturants and bars to choose from to eat / drink.
Hotel uses a card system to purchase drinks etc. rather than hard cash (but can use cash if wish) and we found it easier to clear our bill daily so you dont run up a large and unexpected bill at the end of your stay! We had a good enjoyable relaxing week.

The Hotel Pelin proved to be excellent vaue for money. The buffet meals were varied and plentiful. Restaurant and reception staff were exceptionally helpful and courteous.
Calis Beach is a pleasant quiet resort with little hassle. The Hotel is well situated for the beach and the shops. Light lunches in local bars and cafes were competitively priced. Sun beds and umbrellas at the Surf Club, and beyond, were free with drinks and food at beach tavernas economically priced.
Boat trips were wonderful, representing good value for money and providing a magical day out. Especially Popeye Boat that had friendly crew and European style toilets.
With easy access to Fethiye and surrounding areas the Hotel Pelin is well placed to provide an excellent base for an enjoyable holiday in the sun.

After reading some of the reviews on this hotel I wonder why some people bother to go away lol
We are a couple in our late 50's (going on 21) found the hotel to be fine our room was a double one with a lovely view overlooking the pool and the Fethiye mountains it had all the things that one would expect of the room, very clean, free air conditioning, and a safe. We do not need to stay around the hotel every day but if you are one of those persons that never moves from a sun lounger or your room then you need to pay a higher price for a more star rating.
We had booked bed and breakfast, because we like to eat out.The turkish breakfast was of the norm what you would expect in Turkey, however evening meals should we have chosen we could have eaten at the hotel 'evening buffet' which was very good according to other guests. we did not pay alot for our holiday we went for the excellent weather and the hospitality of the Turkish people.
Prices for drinks and snacks were reasonably priced on the whole as there had been a massive price increase in taxes on food and expecially on alcohol.
The pool was of a generous size with a childrens pool at one end and it was also by a childrens play area which I think was gated for safety and looked to have nice childrens play equipment. It was away from the pool bar but not all people want to have children running around them.
The dining/and room staff we found to be very pleasant the reception staff were very good and helful.
Yes it was on a card system which sometimes did annoy people but as long as you retained your receipt there were no problems.
I do think that they could improve on the pool bar staff if I had one complaint to make, they must be the most miserable men in Turkey lol and do rather let the hotel down in that area unfriendly and arrogant.
I see some people complained of not being able to take food into the hotel, perhaps they did not know that nearly all hotels dont like it even in this country. We did take in water and snacks but discreetly you dont have to be showing a supermarket bag full of goodies.
Ok the kerbs are steep but did you forget to mention in your reviews that in Turkey they have high kerbs because they have so much rain it gets flooded in winter and you will find these high kerbs in other parts of Turkey too where there are canals. I am 5 foot tall waiting for knee replacement but I was able to abseil them lol and play chicken across the dual carriageway, seriously it was not as bad as people lead you to believe.
There are so many wonderful trips to do, cruises on the boats with lunch for the pricely sum of around £9 each, markets, days out to see some of the lovely Turkish villages and scenery.
One thing I would advise is to read about a resort/reviews before you book your holiday if you do not know where you are going, then you wont be disappointed, dont take the travel agents advise check before you book, they tell you anything.
There was a grand old couple staying at the hotel who were from Cumbria she was 80 and he was 84, they spent the morning by the pool and went to the beach in the afternoon. Plenty of lessons to be learned from that couple who love Turkey so much and had seen so many changes only hope I am like them as I get older with there smiley laughing faces, they were just hoping that they will be well enough to travel next year. God willing they will.
