We have just returned from 1 week at the Mavruka (August 2010). The rooms are large, very clean. Towels changed everyday, bebbing every other day. The air conditioning is fantastic. As it's quiet providing no entertainment other than a BBQ once a week it just seems to lack... more

After spending two weeks in Olu Deniz we came back very relaxed and already planning when we could go back there again! Although the room we were allocated was too small for a family of four (Two adults, one 15 year old and one 6 year old were put in the same room) it was... more

Mavruka hotel is brilliant. The rooms were comfy and had good Air Condiditioning. All the rooms have balconies. The swimming pool was quite big and the were lots of seats. However, there wasn't much choice for food.

The rooms are large in comparison to Asena Beach where we stayed previously; we had a 4 person room with a double bed and settee, great for just the two of us! In addition to this we had a beautiful pool view and a balcony with 2 x chairs. TV, free air conditioning - I had... more

Pleasantly surprised by the Mavruka
In a desperate rush after being very badly let down by Thomas Cook 2 days before our due departure (never use them!!), we booked a very last minute holiday to Olu Denitz. This was despite knowing very little about the resort, and we were pleasantly surprised. Mavruka Hotel is very new - and it shows - it's clean, very well kept and nicely designed. The rooms are modern and a decent size, with balconies and nice bathrooms (no bath but a great shower). There is a good sized pool and and nice bar / restaurant area next to it. The hotel has a great location - in the heart of the resort and only a few minutes stroll from the beach. We were staying on a B&B basis, so didn't really eat at the hotel much, but weren't that impressed with breakfast, but didn't try an evening meal as we ate out. Olu Denitz itself is a relatively new resort, and they have obviously made an effort to keep it well maintained. There is a good beach at the resort, with turqouise waters and a sand / pebble beach. However, we preferred the slightly longer walk to the Blue Lagoon, which was a national park beach area. It is more relaxed and the water is beautiful, even if the beach itself has more pebbles. Apparently there is a sandy cove in the lagoon but we didn't manage to find it! Our only criticism of the resort would be the cuisine was a bit disappointing. There were some nice seafood dishes, but much of the food did leave something to be desired, and too many places catered specifically for the 'Brits Abroad' (fried breakfasts and roast dinners for example!). Buzz Beach Bar was one of the best places to go, with a good selection of seafood. Overall we had a lovely, relaxing break, and would recommend the hotel and resort for anyone looking for the same.
Everthing you could ask for:)
Excellent!!!! All staff are very friendly and will do everything to ensure you are happy, very modern clean hotel with large rooms! Beautiful setting surounded by greenery and mountains, lovely pool area, sunbeds comforable and pool very clean, lovely food on offer from the bar, cakes, drinks and icecreams are taken around every day which are reasonably priced! 2 minute walk from everything in the resort so the hotel is still quiet, in the resort there are lots of things going on, restaurants with entertainment, shops, bars, beach and about 15-20 min walk to the blue lagoon! resort very relaxing, everyone is friendly, food excellent everywhere, something for everyone, enlglish, turkish, indian, chinese, etc! Everything you could ask for in a relaxing summer holiday:)
Fabulous !
We booked this hotel the day before we travelled and had no urge to go to Turkey. This was fantastic! The hotel was built last year so is very modern. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a little bland but to be honest, as soon as you leave the hotel, there are a varety of shops and restaurants that were very cheap. The beach is also a 2 minute walk aswell. Trips for a full day were cheap £5 for a luxury boat trip with food included that lasted 6 hours! Get youself there. It's great!
Disappointed!..
We've just returned from 3 days at Mavruka Hotel Oludeniz. We stayed BB there during 7th Oludeniz Air Games. Hotel was brand new, location, rooms, shower etc are OK. But, since (as we've been told) it's the end of the season and just a few rooms were full, the breakfast was not open buffet and they just served some white cheese(!), olives, etc in a plate and a tea which is not good enough; so we couldn't eat and have our breakfast outside of the hotel such as Help or Cloud9 cafe. Rooms were clean (but at the end of the season cleanness). Soap was empty in bath, so we provided our soap by ourselves. We chose the hotel by reading reviews, but unfortunately disappointed this time.
Great Hotel
Just got back from 8 days in Olu Deniz and we stayed at the Mavruka. It is a great hotel with fantastic staff who offer you a warm welcome. Mohammed who runs the bar was ace, particularly with his choice of pool music. Breakfast was a bit boring after day 4 but apparently all other hotels close by offer the same. Our room was cleaned every day and clean towels were left in the bathroom. One word or warning, watch out for water left on the floor in the restaurant, I complained about it but it wasnt dealt with, even after id slipped over. The rooms are a great size and the bed was comfy. Olu Deniz is a fantastic place. If anyone is thinking about doing a tandem paraglide down Babadag Mountain then head for Sky Sports just down near the beach.
Great Location, Great Hotel
We spent 10 days at the Mavruka this August (2006). Its a new hotel, just one street back from the seafront so in a great location. Rooms were a good size for a resort hotel with a good bathroom and a small balcony plus aircon and a fridge as standard. Its not yet in use by many of the big operators and most guests we talked to, like us, had booked independently online. At least 50% of the guests were Turkish, a few French and Germans and a few Brits, a good mix. There's an excellent sized pool which was quiet with lots of available sunbeds at all times of day and a nice poolside bar and restaurant. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Olu Deniz is a lovely resort. Plenty of bars and restaurants in a stunning setting. Clear blue sea, a wide, wide bay and backed with stunning mountains.
nice and new
We recently visited this hotel and found it not only close to the beach 5 mins walk,it was very clean and brand new. The shower was fab and roomy enough for two!!Staff are friendly enough too.
Excellent Hotel!
My boyfriend and I who are both in our late twenties have just returned from 10 days at the Mavruka Hotel in Olu Deniz (beach), Turkey. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and I can't say enough good things about it. Building was completed at the beginning of 2006 so this is a completely new and subsequently modern hotel. The double rooms include in addition to the double bed, a pull out sofa bed, air conditioning (free), TV, a fridge and a safe (cost of £1 per day to use). The bathrooms also have power showers. The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool, plenty of sun loungers and there is a restaurant/bar at the poolside and it is less than a 5 minute stroll to the beach. Rooms can be serviced with fresh linen every day if you wish (fresh towels every couple of days). From what I could see walking around the resort, I would say this is probably one of the if not THE nicest hotels in Olu Deniz and would highly recommend it to couples especially. We stayed on a B&B basis but never managed to drag ourselves out of bed in time (who wants to be woken by an alarm on holiday anyway?!) but there are a few restaurants which do great ranges of delicious breakfasts (scrambled egg, toast, museli etc). The resort of Olu Deniz beach is also highly recommended, there are lots of excellent restaurants (we ate somewhere different every night) offering a variety of international cuisine at very low prices - two course meal for 2 including a bottle of wine around £30. The best restaurants in terms of food, service and atmosphere etc. are on the beach front. There is plenty to do during the day too, paragliding is huge in Olu Deniz and there are also boat trips, water sports and day trip safaris so you can be as active or lazy as you wish! This was our first visit to Turkey and it certainly won't be the last, fantastic!
worth staying, good location and friendly staff
Hotel is almost brand new, clean and modern, aircon was efficient & quiet. Rooms/furnishings were comfortable & the cleaners didn't disturb you if you didn't want them to. Nice views but space on the balcony was a bit limited. The pool was a good size with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Staff were helpful and friendly arranged the airport transfer for us, 45 pounds vs 60 with the airline! Breakfasts were average, Turkish style, (fruit & cheese) not a great deal of variety. Location is excellent for the beach, walking distance to the lagoon, close to the restaurants and bars though not too noisy. overall mavruka hotel is worth recommendation.
Mavruka Hotel
Just returned from 6th visit to Olu Deniz, this time staying in the Mavruka Hotel, it had been opened just 26 days and was less than a quarter full so it was very peaceful, however if you were looking for the usual hotel activities as yet they are not quite up and running. We, however fell in lucky as we rather peace and quiet. The rooms were way above average size of rooms previously we have stayed in, and as its a new build it has double glazed upvc doors and windows (great protection against the mozzies) but best of all the bathrooms are to die for! All tiled- perhaps the floor a bit dangerous when wet, huge mirror, hairdryer marbled top sink (no plug) walk in shower with screen you pull around, great water pressure too. The room has a fridge, 2 large double wardrobes, a settee, we had a kingsize bed, loads of drawers and cupboard space, a large tv and small balcony with 2 plastic chairs. But best of all, free air conditioning, unheard of in most Olu deniz hotels, usually £4 a day. Breakfast is the usual turkish cheese, olives etc, no better at all considering its a 4 * . The pool is large and has 50 sunbeds around it with umbrellas. If you walk out of the hotel through the back entrance and cross the road to the Belcekiz Beach hotel and walk down the side you are on the beach in 3 minutes, and you get to miss the vendors in the street too. On the left side of the hotel is the Marcan Beach hotel and opposite is the Asena Beach Hotel so it is in a great location to bars and shops. The walk to the bus stop for Hisaronu is about 10 minutes though and for us this was the only down side. I must mention that half way through our stay, some of the staff completely changed. This I found out was because they had been asked to do things like water down the milk and reuse the coffee, this they refused to do and left, a pity as they were great lads. As for the cleaning of the rooms, we had fresh flowers in a little vase on the first day, but when they died they were not removed let alone replaced, twice the room was not cleaned but when we were given clean towels they were large soft white fluffy and brand new like the sheets and yes the bed was comfortable too!!
