Great Holiday
10 / 10
Sep 2010, JaccyP

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Mavruka Hotel and we had a fantastic time. The rooms were very clean, towels changed every day and bedding every other day. The air conditioning was a god send and didn't cost any extra. The hotel was close to the restaurants and entertainment but far enough to be away from any noise at nights. The staff were very helpful and really friendly.
We went most evenings to the Shadows Bar which was the best bar in OluDeniz. The staff in this bar were friendly and very funny and amazing dancers. They didn't pester you for drinks and we sat many an evening watching the men dance and listening to the music which which was mostly Turkish and very entertaining.
We really enjoyed our 2 weeks in Oludeniz and can recommend it although I don't think that it is a place for children as there is not a lot for them to do. We found the beach at the resort not to our liking as it is very stony and hard to walk on but a mini bus from Sea Horse Beach picked us up every morning and dropped us off every afternoon and that is an excellent beachand they didn't charge anything for this service.

Relaxed, just lacking a little

We have just returned from 1 week at the Mavruka (August 2010). The rooms are large, very clean. Towels changed everyday, bebbing every other day. The air conditioning is fantastic.
As it's quiet providing no entertainment other than a BBQ once a week it just seems to lack something. There was no need to run for sun beds every morning as several times we arrived at the pool after 10am and easily got three beds together. Once we experienced the bar staff removing the towels of selfish guests who have put down towels and then not used the beds for the four hours that followed.
As with all the other hotels in the area there was a large sign telling you not to bring food and drink into the hotel from outside and we did experience the gentleman on reception looking very closely at shopping bags that were being carried into the hotel. I can appreciate them not wanting you to eat or drink you own stuff in the public areas but in the room when they dont have a shop to buy snacks and different varieties of crisps and sweets is probably going a little far.
The daytime snack menu covered all of the normally expected snacks and was reasonably priced. You need to make sure you keep a copy of all the receipts you sign as while we didn't experience this there seemed to be quite a few people checking out that had much larger bills than they were expecting and arguments over receipt copies could be heard.
When you arrive make sure you ask for a room as near to the pool as possible. One's near the reception are nosiy at night.
I would return here is i was travelling in a couple.
There was only one downside. I did question the attention to the pool. It was clean with none of the obvious signs of it not being treated, however twice i commented that the filters didn't seem to be pumping very fast and perhaps if i looked closely i might have seen "bits" in the water that i would have expected to be filtered out. We were only there for a week and after four days had to seek medical attntion for our son's ear. Several other people seemed to have "something" wrong with them.

After spending two weeks in Olu Deniz we came back very relaxed and already planning when we could go back there again! Although the room we were allocated was too small for a family of four (Two adults, one 15 year old and one 6 year old were put in the same room) it was cleaned every day for two weeks and the cleaners were lovely, as was the rest of the staff. The bar and restaurant staff were particularly friendly and made sure my six year old felt very welcome!! We wasn't expecting too much of the food as we had read a few reviews before we went so we was pleasantly surprised! Even my six year old found something he enjoyed! Although a few minutes away there were lots of good restaurants to choose from so we ate in the hotel alternate nights. We are normally beach people but the pool was so relaxing with friendly guests and staff we tended to stay round there most of our holiday. We will definately return but try for a bigger room next time!

We Returned on 4th June 09 stayed at Mavruka Hotel OluDeniz for 10 days, we found the accommodation to be excellent, very well maintained and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly whilst still leaving you in peace to enjoy your time. Alex on the Reception was very helpful and always pleasant as was the new guy who had only just started (but didn't know his name). We were B&B only and another resident did say to us the food in the evening was okay but not that good, however there are plenty of places to eat in OluDeniz I would highly recommend Buzz Beach Restaurant on the front. If you do any trips we found Focus Tours were very good, watch out for their photographer he's mad but fun :-) Additionally several people warned us away from Bloody Gorgegous Tours. I would also highly recommend Men go have a turkish shave (my husband didn't have to shave for 4 days after and loved the pampering - and believe me he's not into pampering at all! For the Ladies a manicure and pedicure (so much better than the UK) at Asena which is half way up the main street when going away from the beach.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely relaxing holiday in OluDeniz and we're very pleased with our choice of hotel. The staff were very friendly and made our stay a memorable one. The food was good however there was little choice, especially for breakfast.
There is only one night of entertainment from the hotel but unfortunately we missed this due to our flight times. The hotel is quite new, very clean, and a 2 minute walk from the beach and bars.
We would reccommend this hotel to couples or families with older children.

The rooms are large in comparison to Asena Beach where we stayed previously; we had a 4 person room with a double bed and settee, great for just the two of us! In addition to this we had a beautiful pool view and a balcony with 2 x chairs. TV, free air conditioning - I had to turn it off during the night as it was too cold. Fridge to store water etc - no mini bar. Hairdryer albeit ours was faulty, good job my wife bought her own, nice bathroom with power shower and a proper shower cubicle, albeit was slightly small and no hot water in the mornings as the hotel is run off solar power, I believe. Cleaning staff were very friendly and kept rooms, hotel and pool spotless.
Breakfast consisted of the following 7 days per week: Fresh Bread, butter, jam, variety of olives, 3 x cheeses, salami, boiled eggs, scrambled egg, cornflakes and a chocolate variety of flakes. Coffee, Tea & Cordial. They offer a full english breakfast for 10 Lira approx £4. Breakfast is strictly between 8-10am. Not our cup of tea, we stuck to toast and jam and had coffee & juice. Cornflakes were more like cardboard flakes but were more edible when they had been left to soak. Coffee was very weak at times.
The Pool is a decent size and very clean, at the most was only used by 6 people at a time whilst we were there, so plenty of room all round. Pool depth 1.33-1.5m.
The pool bar has a large screen TV, billiards table and table tennis. The food served during lunch and evening from the bar menu was very good and comparable in price to other restaurants nearby. I can certainly recommend the lamb casserole!
The only entertainment the hotel offers is a weekly Turkish night. This is great for £12.50 per person. Includes local Turkish buffet and a bottle of wine for 2 x people, folk dancers and belly dancer. Be warned not to enter the raffle though, each ticket is 10 lira or £4 - you do not win a ring or a necklace as we were told, you win a stone and then have to pay for this to be put into a necklace or a ring from a jewellers in Fethiye.
My wife also indulged in a Turkish bath $4 and an aromatic full body oil massage £15, she felt like a new woman afterwards.
We went on 4 x Boat trips during our 2 week holiday. We did the 12 islands and the Blue Bays twice. I managed to catch some fish whilst out on the boat trips. The captain of the boat liked to snorkel and he caught an octopus on 2 x occasions which he showed to all on board before releasing it to the sea.
Hisaronu has a market on a Monday and the bigger market is held on a Tuesday in Fethiye, you can catch the dolmus from the beachfront at Olu Deniz for no more than 6 Lira return.
I have to say that Olu Deniz is a beautiful resort and that I would recommend the Hotel Mavruka as a very nice hotel, if you like peace and quiet, minimal entertainment and Turkish food.

Just returned from 2 week stay at Mavruka Hotel. The hotel is very new & wasn't full so felt very relaxed & peaceful despite being 5 mins walk from the main street and beach.
The pool is large, plenty of sun loungers, lovely gardens, a banana tree, & olive tree.
The bar area has a pool table & table tennis table, good banter with the bar staff who work long hours. Cakes & coffee served in the afternoon for small charge.
Maid service everyday with a smile, very friendly hotel, reception staff great.
The rooms were spotless, have power showers & small balcony, small fridge, air conditioning on a timer, the hotel was fantastic, hope it stays this way.
We didn't make it up for breakfast often, too be honest we couldn't sit out in the sun until after 2pm - too hot, so the days started late & ended late, the breakfast was salami, eggs, bread, cornflakes.
Lots to see during the day, paragliding, boat trips, Turkish baths & some great restaurants and bars at night, nightlife was quite subdued but if like us you are looking for a semi-relaxed nightlife - great choice of meals and drinks on the beachfront, then you will be more than happy in Olu Deniz.
Overall a great holiday in a brilliant hotel & we will hopefully be back one day soon.

Recently returned from the middle of a heat wave in Turkey to the miserable rain here, and had to give some praise to this great hotel.
We booked last minute through Thomas Cook and expected something cheap and cheerful but the room, pool and bar were all much more than we expected.
The staff around the pool were fantastic especially Mohammed the bar manager who made sure we never got too thirsty as we sweltered round the pool!
He also organised a great Turkish night although in hindsight (and looking at the pictures!), belly dancing wasn’t one of my better ideas.
We will definitely be returning as soon as possible, and hopefully collecting a free drink after this glowing review!

Very new and clean hotel with large pool - could have done with being a bit deeper as only 1.5 meters maximum depth
Food (breakfast) buffet style but not same choice as previously had in other hotel in Turkey in 2006.
Staff were very friendly and hotel is only a short distance from all the bars and restaurants, but being a little back from the main road you do not hear any of the noise.

Very good location, very friendly people. Hotel excellent. More expensive than other resorts in Turkey but more exclusive.
Not very happy with communication links with Onur Airlines and their agents at Manchester Airport.
We visited the Blue Lagoon well worth the visit very clean and relaxing on a pedelo.
Food very good value for money.
