Hampton Lakes Villa

This was our 12th trip to Orlando so we know the area well. We choose to stay in a villa and normally on H27 as the villas in the area are newer, better equipped and away from a lot of the biz & traffic of "the 192".
This time we chose a privately owned villa in Hampton Lakes (booked through ownersdirect.com, would highly recommend) which is a sub-division about 3miles along H27. The estate itself was obviously well groomed and always clean and tidy. There is a playpark for kids and tennis & volleyball courts for the energetic amongst us.
It is a perfect base for a Florida holiday, especially if you are there with kids and doing the parks. First off, its a straightforward 30mins from Orlando International...fab. (its around 60-90 mins from Sanford). Its an honest 15-20mins from Disneyworld and around 30-40 mins from Universal/Wet & Wild/Sea World area.
There's a great sized Publix (my personal favourite!) supermarket literally 2 mins away in "Berry Town Centre". Also there are a pizza, chinese, fish & chips & sub take away, a couple of bars, nail salon, hairdressers etc. There is also an "Applebee's" restaurant, which was delicious as always. Applebee's now offer a great service called Carside to Go....phone up and order, drive 2mins...they bring it out to your car!!!!! Ideal when you feel like a civilised meal without the hassle after a day at the parks.
If you go in the other direction towards Haines City, there are numerous large chain restaurants, Walgreens 24hr pharmacy and a huge Walmart supercentre all within 5-10 mins drive.
I would truly recommend this estate as it was definately one of the nicest villas my family and I have stayed in. No bad points that I can think of.
