More Traveller Reviews of Belvedere
cheated !!!!!!!
from Andrewmonk
Ok here goes ! We (my wife and 15 year old son) stayed at this (---) for a week at the end of July, We arrived in the early hours of the morning and luckily we missed breakfast the following morning, so by lunchtime i was looking forward to having a bite to eat. I would tell you what was there to eat but i"m still trying to work it out myself. so haveing missed breakfast and passed on the lunchtime snacks by this time the evening meal couldn't come soon enough, or thats what i convinced myself. We sat down at at table and our son was first up for the food and soon returned with something that resembled meatballs . We tried to eat some off the food of which there was very little choice but just couldn't. So by this time the only decent food we had had was on the flight to corfu. We decieded we would have to eat out in Benitses . We were greeted by a very nice greek resturant manager who asked us where we we staying, we said the Belvedere, he laughed and pointed to all the other people in his resturant, Yes you guessed they were all from the belvedere. so we sat down and had a fantastic meal with beer and wine in real glasses. This was just a short story about our trip to the belvedere , other faults we found with this hotel are as followed 1. The staff were unhelpful and miserable 2. The pool was dirty 3. The food was disgusting( chips were greasy and undercooked snacks was dried bread spam and cheese lunch was left overs from previous eve meal) with flies being allowed to infest in it. 4 No hot water all week 5 The bed linnen and towels not changed 6. No entertainment 7. Only 1 bar open ( beach bar shut all week ) 8. Having to drink out of plastic cups ( evening and day ) 9. The only spirits available on the all inclusive was ouzo 10. Water you had to pay extra for These were just some of the problems with this hotel and when we complained we were told " did you read the small print" and laughed at us. We left the hotel on the 4th day and checked in the one down the road with some friend we had made and had a great time for the rest of the week. we hope this review will help some of you in your choice of where you stay and that our only advice is DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ! ! P.S. Hi to Kev, Deb, Dale, Carl and Geoff, Angie, Jade , John and Kieth ,Kieth junior

Don't go
from kathyel
Don't Go if you are expecting a holiday Do not go to this hotel if you are expecting clean linen, clean rooms, food you can eat, entertainment, and an all inclusive deal because you will not get it. We were a party of six including two children one caught an ear infection after three days and we had to make three visits to the doctors costing us over 200 euros we had to go out to eat because my 30 year old son was starving. Being Britsh we did make the best of the holiday but felt cheated disappointed and so glad to be home.
All inclusive Con
from Fatginge
Hotel was clean with a lovely sea water pool across the road from a little pebbly beach. Hotel is however isolated - you have to get a taxi to go anywhere. All inclusive is a con - we chose All Inclusive for the saving we would make on soft drinks and ice creams for the kids. Whilst soft drinks were included, there was no ice cream. All drinks are served in plastic tumblers and there was always a queue for the bar - no matter what time of day or night. Only one bar open, not three as advertised. No spirits (except Ouzo) included and the only beer included was Lowenbrau. Again, everything is served in plastic glasses. Only meal we enjoyed was breakfast. Everything else was appalling and we ate out most days. It is not typical Greek cuisine - chips are served every day either with sausages or chips. No entertainment in the hotel and the staff are extremely rude. We enjoyed a relaxing week however will not return to the Belvedere and will not recommend it to anyone
Holiday From Hell
from NorthEast-Family
My family and I arrived at the Belvedere Hotel in the early hours of Sat morning 29/07/06. We booked a twin room for 4 people but were told at reception there were no rooms of this type and were allocated 2 separate rooms. This would have been acceptable if the rooms were next to each other but this was not the case. I was put in room 269 with 1 of my children & my husband was put in room 255 further down the corridor with my other child. Due to the late hour my husband & I agreed to sleep in these separate rooms & would ask to be moved the next day so we could all be together. We went to the welcome meeting the next day and spoke to the rep who advised she would try and sort out. The next day a note was pushed through our doors to advise the management were aware of the situation. We never did get moved and by Tues we were fed up out of living out of a suitcase and travelling from 1 room to another with each others clothes so I unpacked and shared out the toiletries! The rooms were hot and stuffy, no air con & no fans were available. The rep was supposed to get one for us but this never happened. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The food was awful and the drinks were served in small plastic cups in the evening when drinking inside. Paying guests were allowed glasses.......I was All Inclusive, does this not mean I have paid up front! All Inc usually means you can drink the locally produced spirits however the Belvedere would only allow you to have Ouzo. You are also charged for bottled water. The pool was dirty. The Beach bar was never open. There was no entertainment. The Belvedere is advertised as a 3* Hotel. I do not believe this hotel is of a 3* standard. Two families including mine were evicted for jumping in pool after hours.........Rep was as much use as a chocolate Fireguard and the Management are appalling. I could go on for ever but the bottom line is DO NOT GO THERE!!!
Disgusting Hell Hole
from Buffydee
My review for the hotel belvedere is this: Its foul, the staff are rude and heavy handed. I was chased after with a pair of scissors by the manager Chris so he could cut off my all inclusive band. He was threatening and the other manager Nick and he were predatorial when young girls were alone, I my friend and I would confirm. The food is disgusting, its normally food from the day before cold and hard with fly’s crawling all over it, depositing bacteria with their scampering little feet. The rooms had no hot water and we had a side of building view with a huge bush hanging over the balcony, home to many little and large pests which were happy to take up residence in our room. All inclusive drinks were watered down wine, never served from a bottle and never chilled, served from a little carafe kept under the bar with no real protection from the heat, yum. There was beer served out of warm cans and the management told the staff to say there was no beer/watered down wine stuff/coke etc when they decided we had had enough for one night. One night the manager Chris decided to jump in the pool, the next two guests did, only they were sent home, shame the belvedere owners cant send the managers home really and let us run the hotel with blindfolds and a good tub of industrial bleach. The morale of the story, don’t go to the belvedere, instead of happy holiday snaps and souvenirs and happy memories. You will end your stay dying to get on the plane so you can have your airplane meal, angry, tired, out of pocket with our good friend Mr and Mrs Sam-N-Ella having a little incubation nap ready for your arrival home. Go at your own peril
Holiday from hell
from Uk.Muttley
Well what can i say 1st holiday with family and it was a terrible, food was rubbish from start to finish, all inclusive was not all inclusive, staff where not helpful what so ever. I went all inclusive cause we where on a budget with little spending money but we had to go out cause the family and i could not stand it any longer, i spent nearly £800 just to go out and eat for a week and taxis to either village. There was no entertainment for any ages until the very last night. If it wasnt for the friends we made whilst there i would have topped myself. Yes 2 familys got evitcted whilst i was there they where in our company until they got kicked out , all we did was jump in pool its not a crime to have fun after all your on holiday. The 1st night my wife jumped in then me and 1 member of another family, then the bar maid came out and told us to go to our room it was only 11:45pm it felt like we where back at school. The night the 2 familys had been evicted me and family went down for a drink at 21:45pm, the managment decided it would be funny to put the big brother tune on even though greek music had been playing all night he is a sick man. Too kick to full familys out with only 2 days left on holiday with no money no where to go is really bad in my book. Hi to both familys we met and who got evicted we will stay intouch.
What a joke
from All*Jokes*Aside
A complete joke, you call this a holiday me and my friend stayed at the hotel for a week. Its was the longest week of our lives! We arrived early hours of the morning was greeted my a very unhelpful receptionist. The rooms were terrible, had to practically fight with stuff to get a room with air conditioning - Pathetic!!! Had no hot water for a couple of days and at one point had no water at all.. A joke I'm telling you. The staff have terrible customer service they make you believe that you being there is a burden! All the pictures on the website are very misleading there wasn't any entertainment for Adults nor children ridiculous!!! The food was unbelievable we went to a Greek country and the only Greek food that was served to us was olives and stuffed vine leaves.. There was no vegetarian food what century are they living in because it's definitely not 2006 ******DON'T GO THERE******

the belvedere hotel
from stoomboy
i just recently returned from belvedere which me, my wife and son found to be quite good. on reading some of the previous reviews i was quite shocked to see some of the reviews the belvedere got, yes the standard is not up to british standards but in britain we have a much higher standard of living. if these people who left reviews want a british standard of holiday they should look to go to butlins or haggerston castle. the food at the belvedere wasnt too bad. 7.30 am breakfast we had choice of cereal, fruit, eggs'scrambled or boiled', small sausages, pancakes and orange juice. after breakfast 10 am snacks were set out for everyone. 12 pm we had choice of 2 options for lunch. 3 pm snacks were set out again. 7 pm dinner was set out and again we had various options to choose from. from 10 am the bar was open the local beer, wine, ouzo and soft drinks were all part of all inclusive, i didnt like local beer so i bought heiniken all week which cost 3 euros 20 cents a bottle which came with a glass. it would have been nice if the bar at the beach was open. it would also have been nice if there was some kind of cabaret night or some kind of entertainment at the hotel but there are plenty of other options in benitses or messonghi. the staff i found were really helpful, a couple of staff who were always on hand to help were nikos who you can see doing various jobs throughout the day and alexandra who works in the bar at night both were very helpful with me and my family. local bus to benitses stops just outside the hotel and takes 10 minutes to get there and costs 1 euro 10 cents per person. benitses has lots of shops to buy gifts, clothes, cigarettes, alchohol and lots of bars and resturaunts. we would go back as it was a really nice hotel and corfu is a very beautiful island.
Management response from BELVEDEREHOTEL
09 Aug 2006
It is a matter of a fact that some people arrived at Belvedere (in about the same time)expecting more than we offer. The hotel was presented to them a bit differently by others than what it realy is, a B' CLASS, 3 STAR HOTEL-NO MORE, NO LESS- no matter how anyone may feel about it. I can understand the frustration someone may feel after a bad time on holiday, but whose fault is it? Check our website please and you will find out that we sell nothing more than what we actually have, including the All-inclusive schedule (with the snack buffet rotating menu)

Unfortunately this website wouldn't let me rate this hotel 0. Where to start? It was repulsive. My mum and I arrived at the hotel on what was my 17th birthday, hoping for a great holiday. In one year I will be going to university, and this was probably going to be our last... more
