Our flight to Cuba was with virgin airline and it was fantastic, the only let down was the immigration in Havana, it took us 4 hrs to get through immigration check.
It was more like snail working pace for them. Once we were cleared from immigration the scenery was fantastic. We drove about 30mins before we reached our hotel.
Hotel Valencia is in old Havana right behind the harbour. Upon arrival at the hotel we were allocated to a massively spacious room. We had awesome night out in Havana; the drinks are well cheap and different option available for anyone.
One thing we found out very quickly was the different of currency. Foreigners are restricted to only uses Cuban convertibles while the locals uses peso and some times Cuban convertibles. Some restaurants menus are in peso but if you fail to realise it before you other you will be forced to pay the cost in convertibles, which can be very expensive.
We spent 4 day in Havana, travelled to Virales by coach, less develop part of Cuba but the scenery fantastic. We visited the Indian cave, went rock climbing and trekking good all round after 2 days we travelled to Varadero were we spent 3 nights.
We stayed at club amigo a 3 star hotel all inclusive. The food was very bland and repetitive and we ended up having to dine outside the hotel were there are so much options for everyone.
We returned to Havana and lodge back to hotel Valencia. The hotel in the middle of town and the room has a balcony where you can sit and see people walk by.
The staff were first class and absolutely awesome, they treated everyone well and with utmost respect. Always go the extra miles to please everyone always smiling.
Havana is the place to go to and hotel Valencia is the best, even though it is 3 stars.
The tour guide provided by bestattravel was awesome to the end.
