Very clean, but too much scooter noise
from A TripAdvisor Member
The Hotel Hermes is a clean, well run hotel on the hillside overlooking Mykonos town. Our room was impeccably clean, and in the Greek style had few decorations. The view from our room was lovely, looking out over the bay and to the right, the windmills and cruise ships. We did get lost walking back to the hotel at night, since we took a short cut down the hill, and didn't find it getting back up. There is a laundrymat nearby that had quick service and reasonable prices. The family who runs the hotel were helpful in getting us a rental car for the day and information in general. The reason that I won't go back to the hotel is that it is on the major road in and out of town towards the airport, and the scooter noise was too obnoxious. It continued at all hours of the day.
Avoid this place at all costs!!!!!

They were overbooked so two of us were placed in the rooms they had not rennovated. There was no balcony, no ocean side view, no heavy drapes on the windows, the shower was a hose in the wall with no tub or shower curtain!! It was like staying in a hostel, not a luxurious hotel as they advertised. The staff was rude, and they blamed everything on a third party travel agent. They also messed up my confirmed late-checkout. Avoid this place, they might just screw you over in the name of "overbooking!' Check my pics if you want to see the nastiness!
Great Hotel

This hotel was a good pick. Thanks to everyone for their reviews. The location was good. Great view of the ocean and city from the breakfast room as well as our hotel room. The breakfast was great!!! The town was a good 20 minute walk from the hotel. There is a great grill (Alexis) and grocery store near the hotel (10min walk). The hotel room included a fridge. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The only negative was the bathroom. It was very small and was difficult to take a shower without getting the entire bathroom wet, but we easily got used to it.
Great Place, Good Mix

I just stayed at this hotel with a friend 2 weeks ago and we were very impressed with the service and location. While it is a hike (uphill) from town, it is not far and getting to town is a 5 min walk (very easy)...however it is only a 3 euro cab ride on your way back and it is worth the money! The pool is fabulous, breakfast was nice and the room was the most spacious of all our hotels in Greece. I would go back to this hotel if I returned to Mykonos....
Loved it!

We stayed at the Hermes Hotel and found the family who run it to be very helpful. They provided ice buckets, plates and cutlery and any thing else we asked for without delay. Our room was large and bright with 4 single beds( they could easily be joined if required)and the view from our terrace was superb. Although on the top of a hill it was a quick 5 mins down to town. We enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone.
Great Hotel!

I stayed at Hermes in early Sept. The hotel is in a great location. The view and sunsets are beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were shown 4 rooms on arrival and given our choice. The American breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had on our 2 week trip. I highly recommend this hotel.
relaxed
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I are both in our forties and both work so when we go on holiday we like to relax and unwind, we find the hotel a great place to do just that. we have been to this hotel for the past four years and love it, the hotel over looks MYKONOS town and most of the rooms provide excellent views across the landscape and other islands, the rooms are clean and well kept, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the family that run the hotel are great and very friendly although the hotel is on a hill {most of them are } it only takes 5 mins to walk to the town,so if you need to [ CHILL OUT ] on holiday we would strongly recommend staying at hermes hotel.

Excellent...Hermes is one of the nicest hotels I ve ever seen...I had a great time with my husband in our honeymoon trip..The family who runs the hotel was very helpful and friendly..they offer us free drinks and also a very nice greek wine and flowers upon our arrival. I also stayed in the new block and was excellent ...luxurious rooms, murble floors, excellent furniture very nice and friendly environment. Everything was perfect and the view from our balcony excellent... we would like to thank one more time the family of Hermes Hotel for our pleasent and unforgettable experience..
Had a great time
from jamandspoon
I had a wonderful time at the hermes, The staff couldn't be more friendly, from the pool we soaked up the sun. The traffic (mainly scooters) reflected part of the islands charm as this is how the locals and tourists get about. The hill was a challage but well worth it for the views over the harbours and 'Chora'. The rooms all had marble floors and good a/c. I felt it a perfect base for discovering all of charm that is Mykonos, wish I was there now :-)
horrible
from A TripAdvisor Member
Photos on internet wildly misleading. The hotel's on a hill by a desolate main road (which provides a soundtrack to the swimming pool). Rooms in main building seemed ok, but we were put (at the same extortionate price- 150 euro) in the new block. Think young offenders' institution/ army barracks- bleak, echoing corridors, no paintings, no nothing. Obviously recently and cheaply thrown together, damp, doors already warped, cigerettes burns on side of bath, no shower curtain, no soap, 'balcony' on first floor looking over tilled earth. The room was the most unwelcoming accomodation we've seen, equipped with four single beds instead of the double agreed in emails. When we complained the staff were rude. We left after one night, only staying that long because we arrived after midnight.

We booked over the internet with Travel Republic. We had never booked over the internet before so were quite apprehensive. We were even more so when we read the reviews on Travel Republic after we had booked, but we have to say they were very good at alleviating our... more
