Oscar Hotel

I stayed here once before, in the summer, and forgot how bad it was then. All I remembered was the rooftop pool which is finely accompanied by a bar with views of the Acropolis. I made the error of booking for this reason alone for Greek Easter - but this was "too early" for the pool/bar although it was 26degrees outside! Nowhere on their website does it state the pool/roof bar are not open or accessible at this time - they wouldn't even allow us onto the roof for the view, except, bizarrely "after 10pm with the security guard". Hotel Oscar is situated in one of the worse and dirtiest areas of Athens. Right next to the Main train station. You get the impression of being in Albania or Russia rather than in one of the most ancient cities of the world.The noise is very tiring and the staff is inexperienced and irritable. Never Again!
