Just got back from from los dalmatas hotel...( july )
first time back to spain since three years ago and only stayed for two christmas s, we stayed in the amigo s hotels where they have about 7 to 8 hotels you can go into on your all inclusive s and drink/eat and join in the activities, but of course you hav t to sleep at the hotel you are booked into...
our stay at the dalmatas .....
firstly we arrived around 12 ish at night we got there by coach transfer which took 2 hours taking into account s drop off s., the all inclusives had stopped but a cold salad with meats was left out for us...
there was six in our party stayed here .... the hotel was dated but cleaned in the hotel and rooms every day. i never saw the pool area cleaned and the floors around the pool seemed to have the same stains on the floor during our stay .. i was the one to get up around 8 ish in the morning to put towels onto some sunbeds, there was a shortage of them and people queued at 8 to reserved there sunbeds, i got down around twenty two eight and there was 4 sunbeds left..and that seemed to be the trend all week....there seems to be alot of walking
to get anywhere in this hotel which has 18 floors..
we was on the 11 th floor and waited around 15 mins on average for the lift going up and going down..at peak times dinner tea time s on that floor cant speak for the rest of the floors we waited 25 minutes and give up and decided to walk down, which was abit knackering.
the food was average but was a shortage of meats ...
the childrens entertainment was fine... and there was about 3 shows a week around half ten at night
would we stay here at the los dalmatas again.....well its not for us.. i did read the reviews
and did thnk they was pretty good..i should have give more credit to the not so good ones
hope this help trip advirsors in some way ...

Stayed at Los Dalmatas last week May 2011 and we definately wont be back. My partner suffered the most horrific "runs" almost the whole week as did most of the guests. Ambulances were outside the hotel taking the elderly to hospital who obviously couldnt cope with it. Still got no answer as to what was causing it. Was told it was either the food or the air conditioning. The food was rubbish although the sweets were ok. Went all inclusive but ate out most of the time. Reception staff were most unfriendly. The only good thing was the maid who kept our dated room as clean as she could. The lifts were a joke was afraid to travel in them alone so walked up 10 flights of stairs. The entertainment was dull and geared towards the elderly. This hotel is in need of a complete refurbishment and needs to get up to date. NEVER AGAIN!

Had a lovely second stay in Hotel Los Dalmatas
Hotel is clean, food is good, nice variety of food, and location of hotel is perfect!
Had a lovely sea view from our room on the 11th floor. Hotel is only around 200m from beach front and not far, only short walk from all main attractions!..
There also wasnt any noise at all around the hotel, if your wanting somewhere that isnt too close to the nightlife.
We love the nightlife Benidorm has to offer, would recommend the White horse pub which is only up the road from the los dalmatas, has some great entertainment every night.
Our only problems we experienced in Benidorm which was nothing to do with the hotel
but wanted to add to the review so that other people may then avoid this
*** Please beware when exchanging money especially from the exchange place down the road from the Sol Pelicanos hotel on one of the main streets.
It has a huge sign showing the best exchange rate you will see in Benidorm. But when you change your money they give you lots less! showing you the small print afterwards which states on a sign inside that it is when you exchange over £1000 you get the good rate and the rate for less than £1000 is diabolical!, a real scam! ....They must make 1000's out of tourists each year.
Please watch for this and ensure you check first, because they offer no refunds.
There are genuine exchange rate places if you shop round, also some require passports to change money but i tend to avoid them places too. Like most i dont like carrying passports around.
Also watch out for the people with scratch cards, you rarely see them, we only saw them once this year and we've been three times to Benidorm, but they move about once they con people, Giving scratch cards out.
Pretending it's for a party on the sea front that you've chance to win prizes and champaign etc,
then when you scratch them it turns out, You've won a tope prize, the people doing it are so crafty jumping about all excited but then take you to a presentation for 2 hours, trying to get you to pay lots of money and join a non existant internet travel agency ''Pioneer travel''.
Otherwise a fun place to visit.
the location especially is an excellent plus to the hotel.
We look forward to visiting again!

Ok we knew what we were getting into but wanted the location. Right next to the beach with gorgeous view. BUT didn’t expect it to be that out of date, the rooms the lifts, oh my god the entertainment! Hideous. The food was uninspiring though good quality. Clean. Service poor. We liked Jon Silver. Pity he wasn’t on everyday to replace those hideous Spanish groups. Can’t even sing in English to save their lives. At least with Jon Silver we got an evening of top class entertainment. Will not return to the hotel, but will check out where this chap is singing. As for benidorm, it promised lots of activities but all we wanted was the sun, and it rained the whole week.
- Advice: it promised lots of activities but all we wanted was the sun, and it rained the whole week.
- Activities: didnt get out much. stroll along the beach, guadalest excursion.

My 14 year old daughter and I stayed here for 4 days travelling the day after we had booked it!! Because it was a last minute break, and I hadn't had any choice in what was available, I was rather hesitant to say the least. However, the room was clean and spacious, cleaned daily with a daily towel change. Great views from the 11th floor with a balcony that was in the sun all day.The air con kept the room lovely and coolto come back too. The food was very good, varied and of a decent quality. Ample sunbeds by the pool with a convenint snack bar for lunch. I have certainly paid more than the 1.40 euros for my tipple of white wine, and it really was of an acceptable quality. Staff were extremely friendly, a different show each night kept my daughter entertained. The only downside to our break was Benedorm itself. It really is worse than Blackpool, but if you know what to expect, I did, then that aside, this hotel has all you need and is right near the beach.
- Advice: Concrete metropolis, don't expect pretty views or Palm Trees!!!

This was our third visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. We had a top floor room with a view over all of Benidorm. We could sit on our balcony watching the planes taking off and landing in Alicante. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were the friendliest I've came across anywhere, especially Roberto and the restaurant staff who made us feel welcome. The food as usual was very good with plenty of variety. Compliments to the kitchen for the amazing Xmas buffet they laid on. Only problem we couldn't try everything ther was so many different dishes.

I've stayed in various hotels in Benidrom for around 30 years, and this isn't one that I'd return to. The bedrooms, despite the recent facelift are still dingy with chipped plaster on the walls, craked and broken floor tiles and a cracked sink in the bathroom with a chunk missing. On arrival we wait almost 15 minutes for a lift to take us to the 12th floor - no real option to walk with a 72yo and 5yo in tow!
Our room wasn't particularly clean, and the drain in the cracked sink was blocked with hair - eventually removed on day 5! After freshening up we went downstairs to look around, and on walking through the doors to the pool and entertainment area, were almost knocked over by other (women) guests running away from the cockroaches that were running on the steps.
Next morning, within an hour of laying down by the pool, my little girls purse was stolen from her handbag. Staff at the hotel could not have been less interested.
The food was reasonably good, with enough choice to keep most people happy.
The pool area was never hosed down in the week we were there, (from how nasty it was, I'd guess it hadn't been cleaned all summer) this meant that any towels or bags that touched the floor got very very dirty - it really was disgustingly dirty. At no time did anyone come to clear away empty glasses/cups/plates left by guests.
There were several room robberies whilst we stayed, the thieves used cards to access the rooms, and crowbars to open the safes. Hotel staff were apparently less than helpful and when one of the victims asked if the police would be taking fingerprints like in the UK, she was told that she was in Spain now, and if she didn't like it, she should go back to the UK.
At times we waited up to 20 minutes for lifts, which are small and stuffy. Entertainment at the hotel was very poor (a dodgy band) Kids turfed out of the swimming pool for over an hour every afternoon for water polo by a rep who was lovely (to all the blokes!!! women were invisible) Kids club consisted of football only it seemed.
Quite honestly, this hotel is a 3 star at a push and in no way deserves to call itself 4 star - it's saved only by the food in my opinion

My family and myself stayed for two weeks in July 2008.
It was absolutely superb. The food was fantastic and the staff were very pleasant and
helpful. It is ideally situated for a quiet or a lively holiday. There was daytime entertainment for adults and kids.I would like to mention Pancho who took most of the games in the afternoon. He was so enthusiastic it was infectious.
I will definately be back next year.
I have read some of the reviews on here and wonder if the writers were at the same hotel as myself

we stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in aug 11 and could not have picked a better hotel, apart from the decor being a little dated and waiting for the lifts, the food was very good catered for just about everyones needs and in abundance,we took 4 kids and hardly saw them in daytime as the reps came and took them to play games kids really enjoyed their stay, most of the staff were helpful,we were on the 18th (top)floor with a view all the way up levante beach and could not have got a better room, the rooms were cleaned every day although in the 2 weeks we were there the bedding was only changed once
all in all an excellent hotel and will definatley be going back there(probably in october)
