My family and myself stayed for two weeks in July 2008.
It was absolutely superb. The food was fantastic and the staff were very pleasant and
helpful. It is ideally situated for a quiet or a lively holiday. There was daytime entertainment for adults and kids.I would like to mention Pancho who took most of the games in the afternoon. He was so enthusiastic it was infectious.
I will definately be back next year.
I have read some of the reviews on here and wonder if the writers were at the same hotel as myself

This holiday didn't start well, and got worse as the holiday went on. When we arrived they had put on a cold dinner which consisted of cheese roast beef and rolls. Not what you want after a days travelling. We got to our room and the key cards didn't open the door so a quick visit to reception from the 14th floor was required. Me and my wife were on honeymoon and we found out there were single beds. Everytime I went to cuddle my wife when we pushed beds together I fell down the middle! Reception done nothing.
Went for our breakfast the next morning couldn't eat it as it was covered in oil. Checked our lunch and dinner menu, suffice to say we ate out as we didn't fancy tapioca and diced tomato soup or pumpkin and coleslaw casserole(not joking). We paid half board and ate out most of the time. When we did eat at hotel we suffered from food poisoning.
Hygienically not up to scratch. Took plates up to room with our cold dinner the first night, still there when we left. We asked the maid several times to take them away which fell on deaf ears. The beds got changed every wednesday (just once a week) even when our daughter spilled a glass of water on her bed they weren't changed. Two glasses and a cup bought for my daughter were broken by maids and when we asked them to be more careful we were told "phone the manager! maid will be made to pay for it" we didn't ask them to. The glass was still there when we left and some of it found its way on to our daughters bed and she cut herself.
When going home we were told the bus was picking us up at half three. For two weeks we believed this was the case, so sitting in the lounge having a drink with the in laws from half twelve till then. At 3 o'clock I decided to ask for the luggage room key to get our cases out when I noticed a letter with my name on it behind the reception desk. When I asked about it was told they were pick up times and we were supposed to get picked up at 2.20pm. Was told he had came in twice and they couldn't find us, when all he had to do was shout our name as we were there. Would have took the blame if there wasn't another family, so phoned up ResortHoppa and found out we had to pay for a taxi to get us there. The staff at Las Dalmatas were totally unhelpful and one shouted at my wife it wasn't her problem.
I would not reccomend las dalmatas to anyone, not even my worst enemy only got one out of ten because couldn't go any lower.

we stayed in this hotel for ten days at the beginning of june for a ten day break , must say dont think i will be going back in a hurry.
after getting checked in at reception of hotel we began our first wait of approx an hour for the dodgy lift to arrive. after going up and down like a yo-yo from 1st floor to the top roughly 4 times we eventually got the lift to stop at level 8.
on arriving at our room we were surprised by the stale smell, although the room looked clean and tidy enough there was still an urgent need to stock up on a few glade plug ins.
the room was very small with a small balcony ,even on the 8th floor
it was not good if you are afraid of heights at all.
being half board we thought we could eat more often than not at the hotel but have to say didnt think much of the food, fry up in the morning was bearable but had a lot better elsewhere.
benidorm itself was quite lively, there was quite a lot to do.
we went to the water park and also the theme park. these were quite cheap and good fun. also loads of good bars with free entertainment at night "up the strip".
weather was excellent for the whole time, average 30deg c.
food out and about in restaurants was hit or a miss, food was often overpriced for the quality of food.
found a cracking place just across from the hotel, "the grand national"
excellent food and service and very reasonable prices.

This is the first time that we have stayed in the Los Dalmatas Hotel in Benidorm. On our previous visits to Benidorm we have stopped in it's sister hotel, The Avenida, which is also owned by Ona Sol Hotels.
On this occassion we opted for Los Dalmatas because of it's location and it's close proximatey to the local night life. We were not disappointed.
The hotel's own entertainment was low key but alright for an odd night or two. Nearby are about four entertainment bars where things are a bit more lively. All of them had artists, singers, bands, etc.
Walking a bit further, about 15 minutes away are even more clubs. It is possible to plan a pub crawl taking in your favourite acts, such as an Elton John tribute, an Abba tribute, rock bands, comedians, etc, etc.
For all the entertainment nearby the Los Dalmatas is actually a very quiet and peaceful hotel. We did not get disturbed once throughout our visit. We retired most nights between midnight and 1am. The food is good and the staff are nice.
Yes, I would recommend the hotel Los Damatas and yes, we will be stopping there again !

We booked this hotel because it was a 4* hotel. Co-op Holidays put together the pack, with a flight via Easy Jet, the accommodation through Trust Accommodation and also arranged the transfers. So far, so good. The flight was fine and a taxi picked us up as arranged. Arrived at the hotel, great location, lobby seemed ok, checked in and went to our room. What a disappointment! We were given one of the small side rooms with no balcony, a double bed and no room to swing a cat. Oh well we thought, we were not there to live in it forever. A short while later, I checked our paperwork and found that we should have had a twin room. I went to reception to ask about being moved and were informed it would cost another £180 and to come back in 10 mins. On my return they took my payment but said we would have to wait until the following day. At this point, I just cried. A first for me on holiday! We were told to come back after breakfast, which we did, only to be told to come back later. Three visits later we were informed we were to be allocated yet another room. We eventually moved about 3pm. What a difference. We had a large room at the front of the hotel, massive balcony, 3 beds and a view of the sea. On our return to the UK, I complained and Coop Holidays were fantastic in their response and refunded me the £180 and gave me a money off voucher. Now I am not sure if it was the accommodation provider or the Hotel itself. I do think that there is a bit of a scam going on somewhere. I think the side rooms are actually singles but that the hotel overbooks and puts people in these rooms hoping they dont complain. I have read a review where someone said all rooms face the sea. This is not true and I can only think that person doesnt know about the side rooms.
Now to the food, plentiful and room in the restaurant. Staff not the friendliest in the world in the restaurant but I guess they are not there to make friends. The food wasnt the best, cheap cuts of meat etc, which was a little disappointing. There was a huge amount of desserts available. I find it strange that people think the food is fantastic at this hotel but different strokes please different folks.
We normally stay in 4* hotels and I am not sure why this has been given a 4* rating unless it is because there is entertainment day and night. The pool bar was good, relatively cheap snacks and drinks. However, there is something for everyone in Benidorm and you can choose from cheap drinks and Karaoke (The Black Chicken has very funny Karaoke, and I dont like Karaoke), the entertainment clubs have a better standard of entertainment than most resorts with good comedians, groups etc or go to the old Town for a typical Spanish meal, lovely!
We have just booked to go to Benidorm this year but not with this Hotel. As per other reviews the lifts are a pain and the access to the pool is difficult for the infirm or disabled.
If anyone truly wants a 4*, go to the Bahia Del Este in Cala Millor and check out the difference in standards for yourselves.

We have just come back from holiday...

We have just come back from holiday on 20th Oct from this hotel and found it one of the best hotels we have stayed in, we have stayed in it about 10 times now and would not stay anywhere else. We are going back there for a month in Nov and looking forward to it.
The rooms are cleaned every day, the staff are helpful, there are 4 lifts - 2 for even floors and 2 for odd floors - if the lifts are busy at meal times which is mostly when they are, just walk down to next floor and get the lift there same going up.
The location and views from hotel is great. The food is great plenty of choice. The only place I would say NOT to eat is John and Josephs.
We have been going to Benidorm for 20 years but will never eat in there again apart from that holiday was great.

This hotel is the best hotel I have...

This hotel is the best hotel I have stayed at in Benidorm. The food is brilliant. There is a wide choice of food which is different for each day of the week and there are also theme dinners on Fridays and Wednesdays.
Everyone has said that the lifts are slow but that has not been the case whenever I've been at the hotel and I've stayed there 6 times and have this hotel booked for next year as well. Yes, there are 2 even lifts and 2 odd lifts but all you have to do is get on the first one that comes and if it doesn’t stop at your floor, get off at the floor below or above and walk up or down one flight of stairs.
The rooms at the front of the hotel are spacious, considering the amount of time you are going to be spending in them, I have had all 4 people in my family staying in one of these rooms, and it was no problem. The smaller rooms at the sides are not as small as people say; they are just right for keeping all your belongings safe and big enough for two people to live in comfortably.
During the summer months the hotel is usually filled with families with young children and is quite busy, but all the other times of year it is filled with older people who go and stay there for months at a time and it is quite quiet.
The hotel is also very clean with the maids cleaning the rooms every single day and also scrubbing the steps up to the pool and cleaning the foyer of the hotel every morning.
The staff in the restaurant are very polite and efficient, as soon as you are eating they come over and take your drink orders and as soon as you are finished with a plate they come and take it away from the table, they all speak very good English, especially the restaurant manager who speaks fluently in all different languages.
The reception staff are also very kind and polite and speak very good English. The bar staff are good, being a bit slow at times but only because they have a lot of other people to deal with as well.
The entertainment team are the best, they are very outgoing and have great senses of humour and always get everyone involved in all the games during the day including archery, rifle, pistol, shuffle board, darts, pool, water polo, bowling and French bowls in the afternoon followed by either line dancing or a Spanish lesson. They are also there at night.
In the summer when the entertainment is outside they have cabaret shows where the entertainment team dress up and do all different sketches, it is a great laugh and they try to make it as funny as possible for the children. They also have live music and a professional show at 10:30 on most nights and on some other nights they have entertainment like crazy games which involves people in the audience going up on the stage and playing games to win prizes. They also have bingo and quizzes.
During the colder months from around September to around April the entertainment is inside. They still have all the same professional shows which are all very good and they also have things like tropical parties where they have limbo and party games where the winners get a bottle of champagne. They also have quizzes and other games as well as line dancing and live music where the older couples have their shot at dancing. The entertainers are always enthusiastic which entertainment in itself is as they make everything funnier.
All in all, I think this hotel is amazing and would advise anybody of any age to stay here, I don't understand any of the bad reviews that people have given it as I have stayed at it many times at different times of year and wouldn't be going back every year if these reviews were true.

When myself and my Girlfriend arrived...

When myself and my Girlfriend arrived at the Los Dalmatas Hotel for our second holiday abroad together we didn’t quite know what to expect after hearing mixed views on the resort of Benidorm.
The Hotel itself like most the others in the area is a multi storey/high rise hotel that overlooks Lavante Beach. Though unfortunately for us we were stuck with a rather small 'boxy' back room which instead overlooked the pool to the rear and side streets.
The hotel staff argued through no fault of their own that the room was booked by the website company in mistake of a larger double room and to transfer it would cost us an extra 25 Euros a night- so beware of the small rooms when you book!
All in all we found we got good value for our money with friendly staff and an excellent range of food for evening meals. Though a word of warning for guys, pack yourself long trousers because they refuse to allow you into the restaurant in shorts or even 3 quarter lengths!
My only other moan about the hotel would have to be the lifts as many have already said. They were a pain, especially when your room is on the twelfth floor and they come every 10mins! The pool area was nice and clean and with the hotel being so close to the beach there’s always an alternative to the pool if it gets too busy.
The sea was lovely and warm when we went, though beware the waters are very rocky as my girlfriend managed to cut her foot on a sharp rock.
The resort itself is fantastic and seems to have something for everyone. For a young couple it was great as there are loads of great bars and restaurants near the old town, though you do have to look around to find the cheap ones!
The centre of Benidorm is a fair distance from the hotel but the buses come every 10-15mins and cost just 1 Euro for a 1 way trip to the centre. This certainly wasn’t the Blackpool of Spain that some people told us, the old town offers great culture and breathtaking views across the promenade both at night and in the day.
Overall this was a great holiday and I would definitely consider coming to Benidorm again with its buzzing nightlife for all ages. The hotel just had a couple of let downs for us with the small room and painfully slow lifts!
For the location however, this hotel is as good as it gets- just 100 meters from the beach, situated in the calmer end of Benidorm for a good night’s sleep!

Myself and my boyfriend have just returned from our first holiday abroad together where we stayed at the los dalmatas.
Both of us being 18, we wanted to stay in a hotel close to the beach and the location of this hotel was great.
There is a British quick save supermarket on the doorstep, along with a burger king and McDonalds.
Breakfast and dinner in the hotel was nice although being a fussy eater I made do with beans on toast most mornings!
After reading other reviews on the site I was shocked to see people commenting badly about hotel staff as we found everyone we approached helpful and pleasant.
The rooms are clean and of good size, after all who wants to spend their summer holiday in the hotel room?
We stayed in the los dalmatas for one week, however in that week we never used the pool. We found that their weren't many sun beds available and it was crowded with kids, so we chose to use the beach instead which is very clean and the sea is like getting in a hot bath.
We also visited the theme park 'terra mitica' which was really good and only cost 50 euros which is about £17.50 each in English money.
I would recommend this hotel, especially for its location so close to the beach.

I stayed here for 1 week with my boyfriend and his family and we all really enjoyed staying in this hotel.
The only things I can fault are that the pool was freezing we could not swim in the pool at all, our whole stay as the water was too cold, the food was not the best, although the waiters did all they could to help; and finally the staff at the bar were not very helpful, shy and could not understand.
Otherwise it was a brilliant holiday; an I am going back Aug '07 (not to the same hotel).
