We had heard that in high season this hotel was overrun with loud teens and twentys so we were a bit worried about going to this resort, however we went quite early in the year and it was fantastic.
The waterpark is not to noisy and gives the kids (and big kids) loads to do.
The apartments are great, very comfortable and clean with T.V., fridge and air con at no extra cost. The meals were fabulous. buffet style and as much as you can eat. Great choice too.
My advice would be to go self catering and then upgrade to add the meals once you get there. I would recommend these apartments and this resort very highly.

Great place to stay.
Was still early season when we arrived and many places still just opening up.
The nearby waterpark has lots to do.
All pools/Lazy river are free. The only things you pay for are the water slides for which you can buy an all day wrist band for 8 Euros ( about £6.00)
Overall, the Star Beach Village is of a very high standard.
The room service was a bit hit and miss, but that is only a minor issue.
Staff very friendly. The whole place was spotless.
Evening entertainment about three nights a week, though whether there would be more in the high season, I dont know
Definitely going back next year, hopefully in the higher season.

Went to Star Beach in June, 2007. Before we went, although after we had booked, read several reviews stating that Star Beach appeared to cater for younger clientele and had noisy waterpark opposite. After querying this with Argo Holidays we received an email advising it was very suitable for myself and my husband as 'a couple in their 50's'.
It turned out the reviews were closer to the truth than Argo Holidays. All occupants of our apartment block were early 20's, groups of girls and boys who were there to have fun - and you can't blame them. Woken every morning 3 - 5am on their return. Bottles, pizza boxes everywhere each morning - but quickly cleaned up by staff. Waterpark directly across from our room held foam parties most afternoons and late night parties on Wednesday & Saturday until early hours. Great fun for younger people.
We eventually paid to move elsewhere - Annabelle Village - excellent and highly recommended. Would have been grateful for an honest response from Argo on my initial request for information on its suitability for myself and my husband. Would go back to Crete but not to Star Beach.

When we arrived at the hotel, as a party of 4(3 adults and 1 child)around 4:30am-5:00am, and from then on our holiday was brillient! My 2 children went horse riding everyday for 2 hours at the starbeach horse riding next door to the hotel- they enjoyed this a lot.The weather was ok - only rained once one night so we were happy. Our stay at star beach village was excellent.
