Nice clean hotel. Friendly staff, always helpfull. Good location.

We only stayed overnight here between arriving by air and leaving (for Naxos) by ferry the next day. However, we found it to be a charming and friendly little hotel and very good value for money. The owner/manager was very helpful and friendly and all the staff were friendly too. Breakfast was well above average for a Mediterranean hotel. The rooms were adequate and spotless - although Greek beds do tend to be "firm". If there is a downside it is that the hotel has no outdoor public space - but most people will not be spending much time... more

My Mother and I took the Island Hopping Sigma through Transat Holidays. We have no complaints regarding this agency. The representatives were all very nice, and all except one were very knowledgeable in their area (islands). As mentioned in earlier reviews, this hotel is situated on a hill – a bit of a walk up, but not too bad. It’s a short 5-minute walk to the shopping area and a two-minute walk to the hiking trail (14km walk to the beautiful town of Oia). It was the best value for money hotel during our Greece trip in early Oct 06. It was the cheapest and yet the hotel offered much more. Location: Great. It's not exactly in Fira town but it's at the edge so the place is calm, quiet and serene. Short walk to town centre. Price: Cheapest in our entire stay so what else can we say. :) Cleanliness: Rooms are spotlessly clean and white with a balcony which overlooks Fira town. No volcano view though. We chose the King Thiras over other options offered by Nolitours who we travelled with in October 2006 as part of a cruise / island hopping package. And we sure are happy that we listened to other Trip Advisor recommendations regarding this location. We were very pleased with everything about the hotel....the location is great (every hotel in Santorini is up or down a hill of some sort), the rooms were lovely, the fridge was a grreat convenience and there are small TVs in the rooms to catch the latest news. We couldn't believe this hotel had even a "C" rating. The room was tiny. The door to the room didn't even close properly. The walk up hill to the hotel was dreadful. There was a garbage dump at the back of the hotel, complete with braying donkeys!

Our favourtie place of all the islands we visited and will be going back! My boyfriend and I, 29 & 27 respectively just came back from our trip to the Greek Isles b/w Aug 27-Sept 11. We stayed here as part of our island hopping honeymoon for 3 nights. The service was great and the manager was very friendly and went out of his way to help us when we missed our bus for a day tour (the location of the hotel off the main road caused confusions regarding the pickup point). He made several phone calls and eventually had to give us a ride to meet the others for the tour! The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the main town. You can't beat the King Thiras Hotel for the price. The room was large and very clean, beds comfortable, the bathroom was fine, small balcony, and the breakfast was excellent. The manager spoke good English and was very friendly and helpful. We paid 45 euro in early-October 2004. It is also located only one block from the Caldera. It's foolish to pay twice the price for a Caldera view hotel and often have to carry your luggage up steep stairs as the caldera view hotels are frequently built clinging to the side of steep cliffs when... more
