Belvedere Hotel

Four of us stayed here first week of May and we can't say enough good things about the Belvedere. Rooms are spacious - with kitchenette, service is absolutely top-notch and very friendly and accommodating. I mentioned I had developed quite a taste for Greek coffee and the next morning, as I was enjoying the incredible view from my spacious terrace, I was presented with a fresh cup of Greek coffee! The hotel is a short walk from the main part of Fira but in a quiet location. Stay here - you will be very happy you did!

The Belvedere and Santorini were absolutely wonderful. The room was clean and large enough to accomodate our party of three. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was more than I expected. It;s only a 10 minute walk to Fira where all the shops and restaurants are located. We felt very safe when we arrived,but had a bit of a scare on our walk back to the hotel from Fira one evening. The locals insist that the island is safe but my 2 girlfriends and I felt we were being followed and stalked by 4 men and we were lucky enough to duck... more

The service in this hotel is extraordinary. We felt taken care of during our entire stay. The hotel staff is warm hearted and extremely helpful. The rooms are clean, and the interior is OK for this price. Location and view is spectacular. 5 stars without doubt!

after a nine hour ferry ride from Pireaus the view from the hotel was a welcome site. The staff made you feel at home and relaxed right from the start. You don't have to move from the hotel to see a magnificent view of the caldera and the pool area with the bar and the soft music will want you to extend your stay! Location is 10 min. walk to busy Fira and you can take the bus to Oia right outside the hotel but I hesitate to call this retreat a hotel because it is more like an oasis in the paradise of Santorini. The Belvedere has the most breathe taking views. We had a front room which faced the Caldera and had a veranda overlooking the volcano and all i can say is wow. The room itself is large and has everything that you need. The breakfast is great it offers a great range of hot food and plenty of variaty while over looking the ocean. The pool is excellent and has a great bar. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. After a lot of research, we chose this hotel for the first part of our honeymoon. It was the only place with very few reviews on trip advisor so we were a bit unsure of what to expect. We were very happy with the hotel and stay. We arrived to the hotel by taxi and which left us with a 2 minute walk along the main path to the hotel. From there we checked in and a very nice porter took our luggage to the room for us. The man at the front desk was very helpful and gave us a quick rundown of the area and how to get to Fira, etc.... more

Stayed here in June 2008, wanted a relaxing girls holiday, they were three of us and we picked this hotel from the XCEL brochure. We were gone beyond staying in horrible apartments so were really looking forward to this treat. We spent aprox 1000euros each for one room between three of us, and a sea view WAS requested. As our flight was delayed we arrived at the hotel at approx 3am, very tired. The Belvedere has the most amazing view & the people working there are wonderful!!! The rooms are dated & small, but they are very clean & did I mention the view? We were in a "Jr. Suite" but it was quite small so we upgraded to a "Master Suite"....the room was a living room & kitchenette & bathroom downstairs with a bedroom & sauna & TINY (itty bitty!!) bathroom upstairs. We have just returned from a week at this hotel and a week on the island of Paros. This is a lovely hotel, beautiful views over to the volcano and certainly worthy of the 4 star rating. However, just to be aware on the hotel's own website it does state that the hotel has 13 rooms and that all rooms have a volcano view and balcony. The first room we were showed to did not have a volcano vlew or balcony, a vlew over the internal stairs in fact! We quickly pointed this out and did manage to get moved to a room with a balcony but not... more

Perfect location along the caldera, beautiful view from any room, five minute walk into town, exceptionally friendly and warm staff; The perfect Greek getaway! The room was very clean, spacious and inviting; with a comfortable bed. Could not ask for more. Perfect combination between remote island charm and modern luxury. I will recommend the Belvedere to any and all visiting San Torini.
