Aug 2007, Ms A Martin

Upon arrival at the hotel at approx half nine at night we were informed that our booked family room was not available until the next day.
A loose apology was given but nothing to compare with the inconvenience. We were put on eighth street which was right at the top of the resort and with a five and two year old after a long flight was not pleasant.
The hotel itself is gorgeous the facilities are great and the animation team a joy with the kids and adults alike. However if you what anything that is not available to you i.e. there for the taking you will have a difficult time getting any of the normal staff to understand you.
Waiters are at times ignorant because they do not understand. Bar staff whilst try to be accommodating are not very able there is no order to being served it is simply who can make them understand first.
There are few English people and the hotel was generally occupied by Germans and Russians.
The food was ok but not what I expected for four stars. The salads were lovely but there was nothing for the kids. Mine lived off chips and crisps for the week. Fresh fruit only appeared once every couple of days, which was very sad. The shop on the resort charged different people different prices. - A bit naughty.

We only stayed a week and because of the language problems only really got the flow of what was going on by day four and then nearly time to come home.
One word of warning the lights in the hotel are on a timer and if like us your kids will sleep quite happily in a buggy and you want to enjoy the bar facilities you will be left in total darkness at 3am.
The bar shuts at about one officially, but they will serve until two and drinks can be bought down from the disco if it’s too noisy in there.
We had a tremendous row trying to get the lights back on so we could safely manoeuvre the swimming pool and steps with the kids. Be warned.

Jul 2007, Mrs J Carruthers

Just returned from seven fabulous days with my two children (13 & 5).
Rooms are kept immaculately clean, so too are the rest of the conveniences. Food is good, varied and definitely only for those who eat a "balanced diet".
Apartments set in the hillside with a lot of steps - you need to be able, or prepared to come back fitter (as we did)!
Staff are friendly and the vast majority speak English - help at Reception is excellent.
Entertainment was predominately in English, even though there were seven different nationalities present.
They do not have money exchange facilities and nearest bank is Dalaman, however, Sarigerme Village has just installed a cash machine - frequent shuttle buses to village!
Safe, secure location and excellent value for the money - plan to go again next year.

Nice hotel and resort in a quiet area. Very little information available in English. Resort seems to cater for Germans, Russians and other Eastern Europeans. Steep climb to the rooms as the hotel is built on the side of a mountain but with fantastic views. Meal times were a problem as there are no separate sittings and not enough tables for all the guests. Some other quests appeared to hog the tables and were quite arrogant. The resort needs to introduce some kind of arrangement to facilitate mealtimes. The poolside was much the same with some guests reserving the loungers against the hotel rule which was not enforced. Lovely hotel, very nice staff just a pity that the rules are not enforced and people are left to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Don't think we would go back!

Comments...... Well where do I start!!
I see on this website there is an over all rating which really does not work for this place.
So I've decided to do my own 1-10 10 being great.
FOOD Salads 5 hot food 2 pudds 3 DRINKS (when you could get to the bar) 4
STAFF (the ones who could speak a little English) 5 (helpful) 5 (ones that could not) 2
MAIDS 5 (depending on how far up you where. It depended on the time they cleaned your room)(they cleaned our room about 5-6.30pm)
THE ROOM 2 ( Don't go as a couple you will be put in the tiniest room ever) (our friends had a lot of trouble with their room, the hair dryer didn't work and a few other things went wrong)
VIEW 8 SLIGHT SLOPE!!!!!!!! 1 (Take you mountain boots your need them We were on the 6th street and went up 120 steps if not more they were a little bit easier than the SLIGHT SLOPE! Slight slope is a BIG understatement.
BEACH 7 (Refreshments were available, toilets good, guards on beach -very safe lifeguards as well. The beach was the best thing)
BUSES BEACH 5 (good service)
VILLAGE BUS 2 (Over-crowded only ran once down there at 9pm and back at 11pm)
Over all don't go there unless; you like eating sludge; or like rude people that push in all the time and don't hold doors just let them slam in your face. Wasps are a big problem at feeding time.

Oh one more thing
POOL 7 (great pool deep 2m) (so don't go if you can't swim)(even though you have to pay for your towels to be cleaned)
Thanks for taking the time to read if does change let me know.
Don't let this hotel put you off TURKEY
It is a great country and the people are really GOOD FUN.

Jun 2007, Mrs S KING

Just got back from the Caria, and we thought it was excellent value.
Mixture of nationalities there, very few Brits.
The hotel is situated on the mountainside, and has many steps to each level of the hotel and accommodation, but anyone booking this hotel will get this information from the internet anyway. Fantastic views of the bay.
I was a little concerned, before we arrived about dragging my case up the hills, but we were driven to the door from reception, and although we brought them back down the hill our selves on departure, the manager said we should have called to be collected.
Excellent shuttle bus to and from the hotel to beach and village. As it got busier through the week, they were running more frequently, and always returned for extra passengers.
We had excellent service. Food was plentiful and varied, all buffet style, but probably wont suit anyone who expects plain English food. Food and drink available throughout most of the day.
Rooms were clean, roomy and well serviced.
Only the animation team and Turkish bath staff spoke good English, but got by with other staff, always managed to get through, and got the required results.
Had an excellent 2 and 3 quarter hours in Turkish bath, had the works for £35. Well worth it at the start of the holiday, to get really relaxed and prepare skin for the sun.
Plenty to do if you enjoy joining in with the entertainment team, who were really friendly.
Evening entertainment typically Turkish, and fairly entertaining, my only complaint was that they never seemed to start on time. Kids there all seemed to enjoy the early evening entertainment when they run through all the British holiday dance songs, agadoo, birdie song etc. They all loved it.
Booked excursion to Dalyan with Oz at Sarigerme Tours, just on the right as you go into the village. Had great day out for £15, lots of info on the journey, visited mud baths, thermal pool, saw loads of turtles, (Oz even got the captain to catch one and briefly bring it onto the boat for a quick closer look). Had good lunch, some time on turtle beach, a short visit to Dalyan town, and also short horse ride at a ranch.
Took Dolmus from Sarigerme village to Ortaca for 5 lira for 2 people, although not far, the bus goes through all the little villages along the way, picking up and dropping off the locals, so journey took about 40 minutes. (Probably would be about 15 minutes direct.) It was a good journey and gave us a chance to see a bit of the real Turkey.
In Ortaca there is a bus station (otogar) where you can get a dolmus to lots of places. We caught another to Dalaman, (think we paid 4 lire each way for 2) which took about 20 minutes, but found it wasn’t obvious where to go when we got off the Dolmus, and wandered through what we thought was the town. Not touristy at all, very much for the locals; we were invited into many restaurant and shops, but no one was pushy, lots of improvement work going on in the town. Didn’t find the beach.
All in all a fantastic value for money holiday.

This hotel has only recently been opened to the Brits. It is a Russian owned hotel and although the hotel is clean and has good facilities you do not know what is happening as there is no info in English. The staff at best are unhelpful.
It is on a very steep mountainside, with many small roads to walk to get to your rooms (no taxis allowed past the reception) so a real hike. You have to take a mini bus to the beach where we found out you have your own beach bar (great beach) there but we only came across it by accident. All written info back at the hotel is in other languages and the staff do not understand very well at all with the exception of the animation team.
The rep for us was the man drunk at the bar we had seen all week we found out on the 6th day and when we did approach him he was very unhelpful.
I hope this hotel customer service improves in the future as it is a shame and if you were a first time visitor to turkey you would be well put off by the attitude.
