Feb 2008, Mr R Eccleston

Fantastic.
You wont find many better looking hotels. The views are amazing.
The Beach is one of the best you'll find in europe, it's big, clean and spacious.
Me and my Girlfriend had our best holiday ever here (ages 28 and 29), I grant you that the entertainment can get a bit repetative but the guys that do it try really hard and they work long hours. All credit to them.
The food is plentiful and theres always something to eat, The drinks are great (they could do with bigger glasses mind but still you can have as many as you like so it dont really matter too much) and as for the Weather in Sept it was boiling. It hit 92F on the 1st Oct.
We are returning in 2008 with friends. Dont come here if you want 18-30s cause you'll be dissapointed but equally just cause most people have never heard of the place there are plenty of resturants and bars in the village, we had some really good nights out. Also go see Emre at Sarigerme tours, they do great boat trips and the jeep safari cant be missed.
Overall for what your going to, or already have paid, you will get well more than what you should for that type of money.

If we went back to Sarigerme I would...

Nov 2007, Mrs EY Clements

If we went back to Sarigerme I would be happy to stay at this hotel again, although I wouldn't rate it as a 4 star, more a 3+. There were 4 of us, my husband, two children (8 & 5) and me! We arrived at 5.30am and although we weren't meant to check in till later in the day our room was ready and they took us and our bags to our room. They will also collect your bags for you when you go (just let reception know beforehand!), even at 2.45am!
The food was not the worst we have had (this was our 5th trip to Turkey) although the waiters were not as efficient as other hotels in Turkey we have been too. My children didn't struggle for food as I have experienced at other hotels. Salads are good, hot food is sometimes a bit limited. If ever you can't find anything the staff are always happy to help.
We went in the last 2 weeks of September and found there was plenty of choice for sun beds, no queuing for food or drinks and no waiting for the bus. If you go in high season you may find that a problem. Beach/pool towels are provided although you have to pay 1 euro to change them (that's no burden when you consider the hassle of taking your own!).
The animation team while maybe not the most professional were definitely the funniest we have seen and were really nice. The kids loved the mini disco and the evening entertainment. When that is finished you can go to the Kaya bar where there is a man with a keyboard who sings quite a variety of songs! The animation team also does some games, karaoke etc too after evening entertainment.
It is built on a cliff so there are some steep slopes and lots of steps! However it is well worth it for the breathtaking view of Sarigerme beach/bay (you can also hop off at the bottom of the hill and take a short walk to the village). There is a shuttle bus that takes you to and from the beach where there is a nice snack bar and a lady that makes the most delicious pancakes while you wait. The beach is well cared for and residents have free entry to it.
Rooms while basic are well sized, we had a living room which had two single beds, a sofa etc, and there was still loads of room for the kids to spread their toys everywhere. There was also a bedroom with a queen size bed (although a bit firm), and lots of hanging space for clothes and of course a bathroom. We were on the 5th level which meant a few steps to our room but the view was stunning from our veranda!
If you are going from the village to the hotel it is probably easier to catch a taxi for 7lira rather than waiting for the bus at the bottom of the hill as it is usually full when coming back from the beach.
All in all, a very, very nice 2 weeks.
If you go to the village make sure you put some insect repellant - there are some really vicious beasties! (They sell Sinkov for about 3 lira which is what all the locals use).
If you want to find information about the resort as there isn't alot, visit www.sarigerme.net which is a really good website with loads of info.
The karaoke bar as you go into town does a really good Beyti kebab.
If you want some excursions visit sarigerme tours on your right as you enter the village. Oz, Ady, Emre & Arkan the driver are all really nice and make you feel very welcome. They give very good advice and the excursions are great! We did a jeep safari, boat trip and a visit to Tlos & Saklikant. They also provided our airport/hotel transfers for £35, a fraction of other companies! Go see them, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely stunning value and the best family holiday we have had!
The food is excellent and varied, with plenty of healthy and vegetarian options, if your kids are fussy eaters and expect smiley faces and chicken dippers at every meal, you’ll be disappointed but use your holiday to educate them to eat healthily.
We found the staff helpful and friendly most could speak good English. The animation team are hardworking and talented. They kept our kids (13 and 15) entertained for a fortnight.
We liked the balance of nationalities in the place, a good mixture of Brits, Russians, Belgians, Germans, everyone seemed to get along in a civilised manner.
The room was looking a little “tired” and perhaps could do with refurbishment, but it was kept clean regularly and the view from the balcony was breathtaking.
This resort is definitely not for the aged or infirm, we were on the seventh level, this was a 10 minute climb, it IS very steep, the photographs don’t do it justice! But this kept us fit after the “all inclusive partying”.
Definitely recommended for a good value family holiday, thanks Caria, we’ll be back!

Lets start by saying we had a great...

Oct 2007, Mrs Sj Richards

Lets start by saying we had a great and extremely cheap, last minute holiday to Turkey. We went with no real expectation's and therefore we put up with poor accomodation. Having read all the other reviews I couldn't agree more with the comments made.
Our room was clean, but very basic, with lots and lots of ants on the balcony. The views were stunning because we were so high up and the walk back and forth to the pool, restaurant and reception became a real chore! The first time I have ever lost weight on holiday! The food probably helped with that too, loads of salad, salad and more salad. I actually really liked the food, however my two sons lived on rice, feta cheese and bread. They did eat chips everyday between 3and5, which kept them going. The restaurant became a bit of a must rather than a place to sit down and enjoy a meal, it was more like a school canteen... very very noisy and rushed. We went out a couple of nights to eat and had some fabulous meals in the village, they were very cheap. The animation team were ok. The 'club dance' was really catchy and the children loved it... and some adults.
The health and safety was poor, be careful, particularly if you have young children. The balcony balustrades are only screwed in loosely with wooden batons/raw plugs. The pool area was lethal, stay on the mats at all times! The pool itself had no real shallow end, so if you are 5ft like me there is nowhere to stand. Watch yourself on the waterslides, great fun but very fast and very shallow water to land in.
We loved the Turkish bath at the hotel, absolutely fab.
Sarigerme was great, fabulous beaches, very quiet apart from the market on a Sunday which was amazing... a real laugh, we didn't find the Turkish traders pushy like we were told to expect, they were very very funny and made our holiday.
Hope we haven't put you off going, its what you make it at the end of the day.

Not long back from a week of bliss! Couldn’t fault this hotel at all, the food was lovely and varied throughout the week, all very tasty. The room was very spacious and kept very clean and tidy. The views were out of this world. I went with 3 of my friends and the beach was gorgeous, what made our holiday as well was the animation team, they were absolutely brilliant! The evening entertainment was brilliant and the club dance was great fun! We were on the 5th level but as the week went on the steps got easier. Definitely would go back!!

We stayed at the Caria, at the start...

Sep 2007, Miss L Harris

We stayed at the Caria, at the start of September this year, and overall we had a fantastic holiday, would only moan about one thing and that was we were probably the only room without a sea view, but we decided not to change as we were only in it when it was dark, and from everywhere else in the resort there was great views.
We were situated on the top road, so quite a long walk and obviously on a hill. But this didn't bother us in the slightest, we were only relaxing all day and was quite nice to have the exercise, little tip if you walk down the right-hand side you miss out a lot of steps!
When I first started to read the reviews after booking, I became quite concerned, but we really did have a fab holiday, we flew with Onirair, and had great flights both on time. I was worried as I was unable to get transfers, and had to get a taxi at 3am, but had no trouble, lots of cabs outside and it cost us 40 lira (£15) which I thought was a bargain, as when I booked they wanted £70 and so bookable holidays advised me to get the local taxi.
The pool side is lovely and we never had problems with getting a sunbed, but then we just missed the busy period! The staff seemed pleasant never rude, but would very much just get on with their jobs and we always got by with speaking English, this never seemed an issue.
The food was amazing there was always something we liked, salad, veg, fresh bread, lasagne, macaroni cheese! Everyday was different with there main dishes.
My boyfriend and I had a Turkish bath on the resort, for about £20! It was amazing, maybe a little pricey but was well worth it and they do other deals with it.
We only went to the beach once for a wonder, we got there using the shuttle provided, you can then catch the tractor that comes every ten minutes to the town for free, or its a five minute walk. Not much in the town, little souvenir shops and a few bars, great market on a Sunday. But to be honest why pay for food and drink when you’re all inclusive!
If your wanting a day out please book through Serigerme tours, there situated just on the right as you walk through the town, two guys called Oz and Adnan are the travel guides, very friendly and speak brilliant English. We had an amazing day out for just £15, they pick you up from the hotel and drop you back, and we went to the mud baths, thermal bath, turtle beach and lots more, lunch included (not drinks)
Please don’t panic like I did, we had an amazing time, we did very much keep ourselves to ourselves, but that’s what we wanted anyway!

Hotel-beautiful / Views-beautiful...
6 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr T Humphreys

Hotel-beautiful / Views-beautiful
Hotel is gorgeous and the views are great but...
Location is terrible, there is nothing around to keep you entertained. Hotel entertainment is not very good and because you are so isolated, there is no chance of doing anything else, there is a small village at the bottom of the mountain (yes, you are on a mountain), it is fun if there are a few people out but it's usually dead. Shops are disappointing, they seem to think everybody wants to buy jewellery. There are some excursion stands so there is at least a lifeline if you want a break from the hotel.
The beach is really nice but you need a bus ride to get there, the hotel does provide this service and seems to run on time and regular but can be overcrowded at times. The hotel has its own part of the beach, I would advise using the toilet before going to the beach as the toilets are unbelievable on the beach, worth a look and maybe a photo though. Food on the beach is actually really nice, included in the all inclusive package, free drinks at the beach too. Don't be too excited though, read about drinks below.
Food in the hotel is nice and different everyday, do not expect English food and be willing to try lots of different things otherwise you will starve; they put on plenty of meals through the day. Desserts are ok, but nothing special. They have a grill outside at dinner time and it is usually really nice.
Drinks are a huge disappointment and I mean huge. All inclusive makes you imagine all the drinks you want. It does, if all you want is beer, wine, vodka and soft drinks. No shots, no liqueurs, no Malibu, no Archers, no fancy drinks. Cocktails consist of mixed fruit juice and vodka.
Staff are ok but most of them walk around like they wish they were somewhere else, the ones who can speak English are helpful. The bloke who runs the shop doesn't seem to be able to add up, some days you are lucky and get more change, others he will probably short change you. And don't believe the prices on the items you are about to purchase.
Arcade room was bad, as far as I saw, they were all switched off. Air hockey didn't work properly and kids can only play pool if they are supervised by an adult.
Overall I would say its a nice hotel and lovely relaxing place, I cant knock the hotel but we just chose the wrong place as we expected a bit more. Don't think it’s quite ready for the English as it seems very foreign.
If you pick this resort, make sure you only want pool, beach, food and relaxation because all that is great there and you can definitely have a nice relaxing time. But if you want night life, entertainment, lots of fun and lots of different drinks then forget this resort as you will be disappointed.

I couldn't agree more with the previous review; in fact a lot of what was said reflects our thoughts.
The food was decent however the deserts were not that nice. The choice of drink very limited, i.e. only vodka, beer, wine or soft drinks.
The steps were a night mare at the resort, we were on the 7th floor, and it got hard by the end of the week not easier.
Staff were not overly friendly and the man in the super market couldn't add up.
Trouble trying to speak to reception staff as English was quite limited, however do have to say that one man did help us quite a bit, I think we were lucky he was on duty.
The Pool area is lovely however the entertainment from the animation team is the same everyday and gets rather tedious.
Beach was lovely and the shuttle bus was usually available although sometimes over crowded.
In the evenings there was nothing to do; I have never been so bored on a holiday. You could go into the Village however again this was quite limited, but do go to the Karaoke bar as they are really nice in there, that was the highlight of the holiday for us.
Wouldn't go back there. If you want a complete relaxing break then this is the one for you, but make sure you take lots of books!

Just got back from a fantastic...

Sep 2007, calypso

Just got back from a fantastic holiday at the Caria Village. Accommodation, as stated on website, (so not unexpected!) was set on a steep hillside with breathtaking views. Facilities were good, plenty of entertainment if you want it.
Kids, 15, 13 and 11 had a great time and there was plenty for them to do, the pool is a good size and there seemed to be plenty of sun beds to go around, despite the fact that a lot were reserved by towels very early on, we never failed to get one.
We were on the 4th street up and our rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily. The food was generally of good quality and variety but the grill in the evening could have had some better cuts of meat, they are very fond of the pattie style sausage meat.
I do think they could improve the restaurant by making just few small changes:
Put the plate clearing stations behind a partition, no one wants to see plates being cleared whilst they are eating
Bigger plates! The plates were all tea plates; food just doesn't look as appetising on a small plate.
Table cloths and cutlery, they need to change the table cloths more often, or resort to paper to make certain that they are clean for every user.
The bar was understaffed at busy times and there is no drinks table service at meal times so it had a 'canteen' feel about it.
Grill, Better quality meat needed.
Turkish bath and massage, fantastic value.
Market day in Sarigerme is Sunday only.
Beach cafe, very pleasant.
Beach, safe and very clean. Sea, clear and clean lovely to swim in.
Shop, a rip off, they doubled the prices of the ice creams whilst we were there...
Take your mossie repellent, everybody bitten badly.

This Hotel is fantastic! It was brilliant for the kids and the entertainment was wonderful. The staff are courteous and couldn't do enough to help you. The private beach and all inclusive as well. What a wonderful experience.
From the moment we arrived there we had a good welcome and the staff helped us and made us feel at home.
All the areas were clean and well kept. We went on a trip with Sarigerme Tours which was great value for money and very informative. Try the Dalyan Mud bath trip which last one whole day and costs £15 per person lunch included!!!! There is mixed nationalities in the hotel which was really nice to meet people from other countries.
The food was mostly Turkish and German /Russian but they do serve chips on some days for those who want something a bit more basic.
The entertainment in the evenings in a man who looks like Sven Goran Erickson singing My way which was amazing. There is other entertainment in the Amphitheatre which was extremely funny. Take plenty of mosquito spray and there are masses of wasps between 6 and 7 in the evening on the terrace but other than that it was great.
The village of Sarigerme has some great stuff and other people in the hotel went there in the evening for some English food and some karaoke.
There is a nightclub also for those who want to dance the night away. To be honest there is something for everyone.
The rooms are set into the mountain so it was a climb to get back to your room but you can get a car whenever you want to and the staff don't mind taking you back to your room. I couldn't fault them at all.
There are free buses to the beach and then you can get a tractor (with a trailer) to the village which is also free. The market on a Friday in Otaca is great and really cheap. You can get a Dolmus for £1 to get there and our bus was air conditioned!
The people of Turkey are great, they are friendly and helpful. Make sure that you tip them because they don't get paid very much and I think that for the service that you get it worth the tip.
I will certainly be going back here. In fact my kids want to go back today and we only got back yesterday. The flight coming back was 13 hours delayed (that is why I am only giving 9 and not 10) but we got home eventually!
Try this hotel it is fantastic and the area of Sarigerme is wonderful, scenic and full of wonderful people.
