We usually take no notice of reviews as we normally make up our own minds, but i must speak out about this hotel!room was satisfactory but needed more towels, bath plug and hangars as only provided 4 for 3 people! We went all inclusive ,2 adults and our 5 year old daughter. We have been to many places in greece, spain and canaries and this must be the worst hotel for food and drink we have ever been.the selection was poor and repetitive and geared up for italians and poles when we went.the food was always cold even when first in the restuarant.everthing was cooked in tomato sauce even the veg.Fresh fruit was non exsistant as was most veg and ice cream.the service at the bar was poor as was the pump beer which was at times undrinkable, warm and with no head.we then went on the vodka but on a few occasions this was also undrinkable as we believe it was knock off or parafin.service was slow and only one serving and you had to insist on ice or you wouldn`t get it.non exsistant kids club, poor entertainment,no music in bar,no pool bar open and had to trudge to lobby bar for drinks round pool.they will also try to stop your all inclusive at 12pm the day you go even when leaving in evening or afternoon but stand your ground and you will get lunch and dinner with drinks!our daughter would not eat any of the food so had to get chef to cook fries every lunch and dinner for her as they didn`t do these on menu.gounds and pools are okay as was room but service ,decor and food and drink need total overall.okay for couples for a week on bed and breakfast.also suffered with belly ache for last week of hols as did many other guests.Believe the reviews!

Hello Fellow Travellers, i was a bit wary about the reviews i had read on this hotel, but i can assure you its not as bad as people make out,i booked last june with asda travel, we paid £430 each for two weeks half board, going on the 14th of march returning on the 28th ,we had a chalet room which we never paid extra for it was great, fitted kitchen minus cooker seperate bedroom large louge it was very good.the pool boys were very good waiters, cleaners, all the staff were good, the food well your in egypt for goodness sake,it wasnt the ritz by no means, this is my 4th year on a trot to sharm and i found all the hotels we have been in are much the same,me and my friend are both in our early sixties,so we have travelled quite a lot in recent years, you wont starve there, there is always something you will fancy,my only critisism was the flight. We flew with monarch airlines good flight out, but delayed coming back as usual, my friend missed her last coach back to wales and had to sleep in the airport till her six oclock coach arrived,so i think in future we will be flying with a differnt airline. I dont know what it would be like to go here in the summer, much bussier i would think thats why we go out of season, the weather is perfect feb and march. Anyway for what we paid we had our monies worth and more,so dont write this hotel off, might even go back there next year if the price is right. Happy holidays M&D

This hotel has very nice grounds and the rooms are ok.Unfortunately it's run like Faulty Towers! The standard of food is poor as is the hygiene in the dining areas. The bar is very poorly run and the service very slow. This would be a great hotel if properly run.We have stayed at many hotels in Egypt there are many far better than this!Do yourself a favour pay a little more and you'll get a lot more.

My self and my two friends (Three young ladies) stayed at the hotel for one week, although it was only a short distance from the airport we arrived to find the staff were not very friendly they did process the information quickly.
The staff in the hotel seemed very slimy and would constantly hit on almost all the women which put us off going to the bar area. Again the nightclub was very loud but being there out of season this only went on till about 3.30am.
My main problem was staff (Security and room services men) entered our room on a number occasion leaving different things in the room like food or flowers.
On our last evening they stole two mobile from our locked room, we understand from speaking to people that this is a regular thing that happens as a police report can take up to two days to process. We were told it is usually mobile, laptops and money (small amounts so not noticed). We travelled with Thomas Cook and found the rep extremely unhelpful and suggested that we adjust our story to not affect the hotel reputation. After a number of heated discussed with the reception staff, the security and hotel manager who treated us like liars and refused to discuss. They searched our room and luggage which of course they were never found.
Overall a horrible experience, we have now been put off Egypt all together which is a shame as it is a lovely country.
If you stay there make good usage of the hotel safe, even though all the staff know how to de-code them. Also avoid the massage area as it was probably the most indecent experience of my life (Without going in to detail).

my mum and i booked our holiday to coral hills from off teletext, we didnt know what to expect as we couldnt find it in any brochures but i knew the area well and was happy to book it on that basis.
then we found some bad reviews on holidaywatchdog so was a little bit nervous, we shouldnt have been as we loved it from the minute we arrived to we left.
The hotel itself is lovely and our welcome was great. we met the manager amir who couldtn have been nicer to us or have done any more for us. we only had one problem of our safe being broken and it was fixed straight away.
the hotel was quiet when we were there but it meant we had the pools pretty much to ourselves which was lovely. the boys who worked round the pool were great and got ur sunbed and towels for you as soon as you came to them.
The staff were lovely and all were so helpful, they helped make our holiday for us so a big thankyou 2 all of them.
The food was fine, yes it wasnt the warmest but ive not been to any hotel in egypt where it is, they try to cook for all the nationalities there, we usually found something to eat but if we didnt it wasnt because there was something wrong with it , it was just not what we always wanted, anyway we like to eat out some nights too.
They had 3 bbbq nights when we were there and the food was lovely, there was entertainment too.
So let people make up there own mind on this hotel but we loved it and would go back again 2moro if we could

Value for money

I chose this resort as it seemed ideal for my partner and I to have a relaxing week 'away from it all' and that's exactly what we got and at a very good price. It's obviously not the best resort in Egypt but it's priced accordingly and we thought it was very good value for money. The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you, both pools are clean and the surrounding gardens are well kept. There's a man made waterfall creation which was a pleasant surprise and also a nomadic type tent where you can enjoy a coffee etc on the scatter cusions. there is also a Spa where you can get very good value massages etc.

  • Advice: Built for tourists expect everything that goes with a tourist resort.

A typical Egyptian hotel - too many chiefs and not enough indians. There are plenty of people standing around supervising in the bar and restaurant the bar especially could do with more staff. The staff are all friendly and are all very willing. Food however is all aimed at the Russian majority who stay there. On 2 days lunch was inedible and the food was always luke warm to cold, some fault lay with the guests but it was mainly due to the food being carried from the kitchen on open trays and 'added' to the already cold food out in the serving area. Go for the meat/chicken being carved by a chef, this was always warm. Fresh fruit and fresh vegetables were no existant. Watch out for gala evenings, the food is even colder and what little choice there is normally is diminished. All inclusive also seems to stop at whatever time they like on gala evenings, but stand your ground and insist you speak to the general manager and the 11.00pm cut off is soon re-instated. Rooms - get an upgrade to a family suite, much more room, small kitchen and sitting area, makes all of the difference. The shuttle bus ran to the beaches on time but beware the Russians dont know how to queue and their elbows work well! Wait for the bus to come back and he will go again. The hotel beach leaves a lot to be desired, it is cramped and very noisy. Walk around the coast from the beach and you will find a cove where the boats stop to snorkel, its untidy and takes about 20 minutes to walk, but its peaceful and the water is much clearer. It takes 50 minutes to walk back to the hotel from the beach up what looks like a big hill, its not too bad and there is a set of steps on the left half way up which leads to the side of another hotel, this cuts about 10 mins on the walk back. Dont let the hotel charge you for a visit to reef beech, the hotel say it costs 10 pounds, its a 10 minute walk and is free. Overall the hotel is OK if you only use it for sleeping and Sharm is Blackpool in Egypt, wouldn't use this hotel again.

  • Advice: Visit the proper Egypt, Cairo and Luxor etc. Sharm has no character or history

Coral Hills Resort
8 / 10
Nov 2008, biddle138

We went to Sharm for the 1st time as a last minute break. We stayed at the Coraal Hill's Resort. From our arrival untill our departure we can honestly say we never experenced any of the problem's that some people have mentioned in their reviews.
We found that all the staff from reception to waiter's bar staff cleaner's and even gardener's were very polite and alway's very helpfull. We didnt have to wait for anything if we asked for something we recieved it straight away. We only ate breakfast in the hotel and as much as it was basic and a little repetative what do people want for breakfast there was fruit juice tea/coffee cereal fresh bread which you could have toasted if you wanted fresh cousant's dont know if ive spelt that right but im sure you know what i mean and fresh fruit salad. You could have fried egg's or omelettes made on demand and if your not happy after eating that lot i think you may have a serious promlem and i dont think you could hold the responsible for that. We cant comment on evening meal's as we ate out for our's but whilst we were there we didnt hear anybody complain about the food. Overall we can not say that we experienced any problem's and are thinking of returning next year for 2 week's and bringing other family member's with us and we would look 1st at booking in at the Coral Hills Resort many thank's for making our 1st stay in Sharm such a great memory.

Justa came back from Egypt. Superb...

Justa came back from Egypt. Superb holidays with nicw weather and interesting excursions. Hotel Coral Hills was a good choice although you have to be open minded with some things. Food is not bad but almoust the same every day so guests who are keen on some specialties want be happy. All peple working in a hotel are really friendly and we did not have any problems with them. On our arrival they gave as wrong room (2 beds instead of 3) but that was sorted next day as we arrived in the middle of ther night. We got nice room with a view to the pool and air condition was working nicely and this was important as the temperature of the air hits some days over 40 degrees Celzius. As this was our second trip to Egypt we alreday knew that you have to count on not so clean floors, tables... as in European hotels. That is the way they do it. Hopefully they will change their habbits soon. Just near the hotel (after you step out go right, and imidiatly right) ou can find Mercato-new shopping area build in Italian style, a nd if you want more traditional shops go a little bit further and you will find them with no problem.
I would recomend this hotel to the families with children as the hotel does not have any special entretaiment and it is a perfect place for relaxing. If you want prties and night life then you have to go to Nama Bay (new Sharm) which is 10 minutes drive from the hotel and you can find there what ever you want.
Hotel shuttle bus to the beach is going according the scedule every hour, and for the private beaches once or twice a day. (we went only to private beaches as they are less crowded and you can find a part of peace for you there). Mostly we went to Coral reef beach and (entry is 20 Eg.pounds if you book it in a hotel and 25 if you are paying on the beach). Once we went to Fanara bach (10 Eg pounds entry) and it was over crowded but it was nice for snoorkling. Shuttle is free of charge. As it goes once or twice a day we sometimes used TAXI and for 10 Eg.pounds you can go on almoust every location you choose (Nama bay is between 15 and 20 Eg. pounds).
Snoorkling is a must so take equpment with you if you have it at home or buy it in Old Sharm for 40-50 Eg.pounds. You can rent the equpiment but they will charge you 25 pounds for a mask. On the beaches all the prices are much higher so be aware of it and take watter or other refreshment with you. (bottle of water in a store is 2-2,5 pounds and on the beach 10-15 pounds). Coca-cola, fanta, sprite and similar baverages are 3-5 in the store and 10-15 pounds on the beach or in the hotel.
If you like swiming pools than you can enjoy two pools in a hotel and they are clean. You can get towels from the pool for free.
egarding excursions and trips we went to boat trip with snoorkling to Ras Mohamed (do not miss it!!!), Saint Catharine monastir and safary (Abu Galum, snorkling in blue hole, camle riding and trip to Dahab). All the excursions where great and it is worth going although they are not cheap. If you want to save some money you can choose the trips from local agency. You can find them an almoust every corner (we choose Susi near Bacus shop about 10 minutes walking from the hotel) and they were great. Everything went by the scedule.
We had camel riding included in our safary trip so we did not have any problems with beduins, but our friends tried it on their own and they had a big argue, almous a fight. They set a price on 15 poundsper persson and they all went at the same time on Camel. After 15 minutes of riding guide took a camera from our friend to take a picture of them on the Camels (they thought that was a nice gesture) but when they wanted to go down from the camel guide said 35 pounds for the riding and he did not want to turn back the camera until they pay higher price. So if you are a couple or a familly it would be good that somebody always stays on the ground. You can find that cind of peple everywhere, even in Europe so just be aware of this situations.
All the rest was a pure joy and we wolud recomend going to Sharm and to Coral hills hotel.
