Ajax Hotel

We stayed in the Ajax May/June 2008.The hotel was excellent but in a very poor position, being about 25mins walk from the seafront. We booked it on the brochure description of a free shuttle bus to the beach, town centre etc. When we got there we discovered that it was not running this year. We had to spend a lot on taxis, which we weren't expecting. Our Olympic rep was very off hand about it. Stayed in the Ajax for 1 week in June half board. The hotel caters for both leasuire and business clients so it is quiet a formal atmostphere Overall a good experince the food was very good quality lots of choice if a touch repetative. The rooms are 4 star standard good size with minibar (only 2 english news channels) and the hotel itself particually the lobby reception area is very impressive. I presented a 2-day business seminar at the Ajax - the venue was chosen by others. The facilities in the Iphigenia Room were excellent - fast internet, good plasma, attractive display of refreshments, high standard of linen etc. More remarkable was the terrific friendliness, speed and efficiency of the staff - way ahead of what one usually experiences at hotels. I stayed at the Ajax in August 2007. I was told that it was close to the beach, unfortunately is it about a 15 minute walk. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for people who have young children as there is not much for them to do at the Ajax. The beach is just to far to walk to if you have young children, especially when you have take all the things that children want to take to the beach in the heat! we originally booked to go to jamaica but one day before we were due to go hurricane dean hit so we changed our holiday to cyprus.we have holidayed in cyprus many times but this was our first time at the ajax.We were disappointed with the location luckily we had a jeep because it is quite a walk to the main part ( shops,bars and restuarants. ) .The rooms were ok but beds only changed every 4 days . I had stayed there in the past summers as I was always pleased with the high standard of service and the excellent food on offer (the cypriot night bufet is notorious!!!) However, upon my arrival this year I was absolutely stunned with the renovation, the whole ground floor looks absolutely amazing, modern and luxurious, whilst the standard of service and the food remained impeccable. The hotel is very good,with excellend puplic areas,excellent food but small and old rooms.The stuff is frendly and helpful.The location of the hotel is far enough from the beach,the old city and the touristic areas but is quite easy.Generally i strongly recommend this hotel especially for middle-aged people.

ajax is a beautiful hotel, the staff were excellent and very helpful. the food was the best we've had in a half board hotel. the hotel was newly renovated and extremley clean. rooms could do with modernisation but had all you needed. including tv and tea and coffee facilitys. only two bad point, no evening enterainment and it is quite a walk from the nearest beach. however these are small points as taxis are cheap to get to the beach and night life.

We were a group of students from Thessalonica, Greece, and travelling to Cyprus so as to meet our compatriots, Cypriots. We had booked a hotel through an agent at a good price and we were expecting something medium. But Ajax was the best hotel I have ever stayed in...

Got the hotel as a package with air from Heraklion to Cyprus. Hotel is situated in a residentail not too much touristic area but quiet and very cozy. Hotel is clean and has a nice pool, bar, lounge area, and restaraunt. Its a nice resort overall. Rooms looked a bit old compared to a 4 star quality but were very clean and nice view from the balcony. Only thing is it is far from the seaside, takes about 15 mins to get to the main sea side and then walk 20 more to get to the touristic areas or the night life of Limassol.
