Atrion Hotel

This hotel was probably one of the better parts of our stay in Heraklion. Whilst I was very happy with the hotel, if you can manage it, base yourself along the coast somewhere rather than this city. The Atrion was very modern and clean. Staff were friendly and breakfast the best out of our stay in Greece. We stayed at the Hotel Atrion for 3 nights while in Heraklion. We were aboslutely amazed by the quality of the accomodation for its price. We had already stayed in a few places around Greece prior to arriving here for the same price and found that hands down this one had the best accomodations for the price category. The Atrion hotel is situated a few blocks in from the oceanfront, a few blocks from the port and a few blocks from the bus stop. It is only a few minutes walk from the central Heraklion shopping area - overall great location. Our room was on the 5th floor, was spacious and recently renovated. Since it was our first stop in Greece we didn't realize at the time how nice the hotel actually was in comparison with the other places we stayed. Out of all the hotels we stayed in on our trip to Greece, Atrion was the best (we stayed in Athens, Santorini, Mycanos, Delphi, Kalambaka). The rooms were big, newly furnished, and most importantly, very clean and fresh. The bathrooms were also very clean. Accommodations would satisfy the pickiest of customers. Rooms are lovely and modern and very clean. However, the noise from the main road outside is unbelievable. Only stay at this hotel if you are used to the sound of traffic. Breakfast is a good spread with limitless coffee. Staff all very friendly.

Hotel is situated in an ideal location between the port area and the Lion Mouth square. By cab it is about 5 min drive cost of 6 CYP. You can walk there but if you have luggage why bother. Bus station is at the port, so its about 15-20 mins walk. Hotel is very modern, extra clean rooms and very comfortable surrounding. Got the rate for 80.00 euros and was a steal. The rooms are new, and functional but not flashy. Mine (314) had no view, but had a BIG balcony: the perfect place to have a little drink and relax...

Stayed here 5 years ago before the massive renovation when it was very ordinary. Rooms are very modern ,especially the bathroom with full size baths. Hotel is in a good position in the city, walking distance to everything, and is even not too hard to find by car in a city that has street signs in Greek or not at all. Be aware that Heraklion is a very noisy city and no amount of soundproofing will completely block out the noise of aircraft taking off at all hours of the night. Staff are very friendly and food is good.

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were very new and modern (just a bit small)....it had a lot of light coming in. The only problem I had was that the air conditioner was not working right in our room. We were too lazy to call the front desk cuz we were only there for 1 night. The breakfast was pretty good.
