Ignore all the bad reviews!!! the hotel was perfectly clean and tidy and the family who run it were lovely. the walk into town took us 15-20minutes a day which is nowhere near as secluded as we were expecting! the taxi into town only 8euros, and the bar staff were only too happy to call us one whenever we wanted. would definately stay again, was an amazing holiday!!!

Me and my friend went for a weeks holiday in July, we went to sunbathe all day & drink all night! Rooms were simple, keep the bathroom window open as the drains stink! We made this mistake, our room got cleaned 6 out of the 7 days we were there and towels changed 4 times which we were impressed at. Staff have their friendly moments, Yuri has 2 sides he can be really nice but after seeing him shout abuse at a girl my thoughts changed rapidly! Its WAY to far from the centre its over an hours walk & its to hot to even think of walking, there is nothing around for ages either so not the safest walk at night! We ended up getting the bus every night which is pretty regular then a taxi home which is 7euros. Food and drink is expensive at the bar & the food isnt the best, its a 20 minute walk to the next little resort where Big Mikes is, the food is lovely with a beautiful view! The beach is stones not very nice. Had a lovely holiday but if your looking to party stay closer to the centre! KOS 2010!! :)
- Advice: Perfect if you wanna lay by the pool all day and sleep all night!

i have returned from the evripides village after a fantastic weeks holiday. The hotel is a family run place with nikos and his wife denise are just brilliant. Their son Yuri is also a star. Anything that you want will be granted to you here at the evripides. If there is something you need and they don't have it then just ask and it will be there very soon after. The rooms are extremely clean and the pool area is superb. The hotel itself is virtually on the beach and the resort of kos is a lovely walk away or if you are slightly lazy then you can hire cars and scooters at good prices. Nikos' s barbeque's are legendary. All in all a great place to stay for people of all ages. and i for one will be returning very soon. Thanks all Danny.

We booked a two week break during June 2008 with Thomas Cook.
the first week was fine until the following Friday when many teenagers arrived – approx 50 - a mixture of young men and women, our holiday was unbearable at night after the first two nights they had arrived, the noise they made coming in from the nightclubs lasted anything between 1am until
7am, after the second night I complained to the owner who didn’t do anything, we had to cope with two more nights of this, my poor children exhausted from the lack of sleep plus fear of all the banging and screaming.
When booking this holiday the brochure described the Evripidis as a laid back friendly aparthotel ideal base for Families
and couples. I feel this was very misleading having any idea what we were to endure I would not have booked this holiday. Please beware of this - this isn't ideal for Families.
We have complained to Thomas Cook - basically they just said sorry.

Me and 8 friends stayed in the self catering part and had an amazing weeks holiday. Uri and the recently employed Chris were both really friendly and always helpful in sorting out taxis. Mikos was also very frindly and cooks a fantastic bbq. drinks at the bar are very reasonable when compared to English prices. Highly recommend staying.
- Advice: the taxis are useless

Me and my friends came to the Evripides Village for a girls holiday In july. We wanted 2 sunbathe all day and party all night! the rooms are ok, some more equiped then others but it's ok. The aircon costs you 5 euros a day and believe me u need it! The only down fall is you are about an hr and a half walk from Kardamena centre. But only 5 mins by car which costs you 7 euros each way.
Uri, was really nice and his mum had her moments. But if thei hotel was a bit cloder in it woul dhave been alot better.
Kardamena centre is amazing!!!!

On arrival to the hotel we were welcomed by other guests initially. Excellent socially. Then the proprieter Nikos greeted us With traditional Greek hospitality. On entering our apartment we found a very clean fresh room with basic facilities but as detailed on web site. In the morning we attended the reps meeting and were informed of local restaurants and bars, excursions. we proceeded to the pool area. excellent. beautiful clean pool with clean pool area and clean bar area. bar snacks available. the scenery is excellent too. all staff are very helpful and polite. overall an excellent facility. the town of Kardamana is a short bus ride away(1€60) or 7€ in a taxi for the real nightlife. afetr a few hours dancing the night away its back to the beautiful peaceful surroundings of the evripides hotel. already booked for 2009.

The resort of Kardamena is fantastic and this was one thing that kept us going during the holiday. The Evripides hotel was clean but basic and having booked half board was expecting reasonable meals... not the case. Breakfast was very basic. Tea, toast and dry cake was all, apart from a huge bowl of white yoghurt and syrup which the Russians seemed to relish. Kept running out of cups, bread, plates, butter, spoons and just about everything had to to be sought from elsewhere as only one table with a 4 slice toaster served the entire hotel. Breakfast waitress was very rude and refused to get butter one morning because I was 'too late', despite having been down for breakfast 10 mins before the 9.30am deadline. Long queue every morning for the toaster. You need to be well organised and determined to get anything. My wife gave up after 2 mornings but I saw it as a challenge and kept going despite the drawbacks. Lots of Russians and Italians in the hotel who don't like to queue and prefer to jump in front and grab your toast... so watch for that.
I complained to the receptionist about the rude waitress and she said the owner would speak to me. He didn't. Brushed under the carpet as with everything else that was reported. Kettle literally blew up on day 2 as the lead was frayed. Sparks and loud bang took the power out. Went to reception and was told all the kettles do that and no, they were not being replaced. Had to boil water on the stove in a small saucepan for the remaining holiday.
Evening meal was a lottery. No menu, no choice and no way of finding out what was on until it was served up. On the whole the evening meal was of good quality but you had no choice so if you liked it then OK, but if you didn't you were off to Kardamena to find a restaurant, of which there are plenty. No drinks available with dinner so if you want one you have to go to the pool bar first.
Drinks overpriced at the bar and very unorganised staff. You want a coffee you have to wait for the kettle to boil as it is all quite primitive.
Air conditioned rooms but it costs extra for the remote to be able to use it. 5 euro a day plus a 10 euro deposit for the remote or you have to suffer the heat.
We had a couple of days when the water for a shower was cold. Once it is used it is not available until the solar power system heats the exchanger again.
The pool area is very nice overlooking the mountains and close to the sea, but many of the sun loungers were broken.
Went to play pool at the bar and found the cue was broken (no tip). Then decided to play table tennis but the net was held in place with a dinner knife and would not stay up.
It would not take a lot of effort to make this a fantastic holiday experience but nobody there is bothered and you are not treated as a guest or anyone special at all. In all its too much of an effort for staff to get anything and most people seem to give up after a few days.
Would I go back? Yes, to Kardamena definitely, but I would only go back to the Evripides if I couldn't get in elsewhere and if I did it would be on a room only basis as I prefer the restaurants in Kardamena and the less contact with staff the better. They say Kardamena 2.5km away but that is to the nearest point. The restaurants are mostly the other side and unless you are a used to walking in desert heat you need a car, a scooter or a taxi. We rented a scooter from 'on yer bike' (fantastic!) only 12 Euro a day for a 50cc. You can also rent quads and bigger bikes which are more expensive. Everyone seems to be on a scooter or a quad and it is fun to get around.
I could write more but it would sound like a whinge.
