Takis Apartments

We booked this holiday through Thomas Cook and some how ended up as traveling with Olympic Holidays. As this not a very nice review I would like to say that it is not the fault of Thomas Cook but with Olympic Holidays. At first everything went well the flight from east mids airport was on time, the holiday reps from Olympic were out in force to meet us, we were showed to our coach and thats when the problem started. We were on that dam coach for about 5 hours to cover a trip that would have taken a taxi 45 mins, there was no drinks available and the Coach driver turned the air conditioning of after an hour or so. The reason it took so long was that every stop the one anf only rep on board had to take the new arrivals to there allocated appartment and show them round, leaving us gasping on the coach. I would not advise any one with Children to use this service. When we arrived we walked up a dust track, about one hundred meters up from the 3 little pigs, to the Takis Apartment. we had actually opted for a Studio appartment and how we regretted it. It was on ground level which would be ideal if you were elderly or disabled. With a lovely view of the owners car and an old run down bar b que area. The toilet stunk of stagnant water, every time I tried to turn on the main bedroom light I got an electric shock. Forget about other reviews you have read about an elderly couple who are sweet and take care of all your needs, as they just don't exist! Well not at this Takis Appartments complex. It is run by a Guy called Theo and his Sister (more about them in a min). We hated our cold and dark studio and apart from 3 other family s we were the only guests that week, so we begged our holiday rep, Kathy to please move us. As there were plenty of empty apartments and as were were 'downgrading' to a normal apartment I thought there would be no problem, WRONG! Olympic Holidays wanted to charge us nearly £180.00 for the pleasure of downgrading! We had not budgeted for this and decided to so decided to rough it out. Also as our studio was next to the Kitchens and the cleaners area we got woken every morning between 8.00 and 8.20 with banging and crashing and a very loud radio. We did complain to our holiday rep but it did not stop the early morning din, it seemed to get louder! We also found that the holiday reps and the owners Theo and his Sister were very 'clicky' because after we complained they were very funny and 'of' with us. Honest we were not being paranoid because every time we came out of out apartment they would stop what they were saying, and whispering, looking over at us etc. On the whole the Takis apartment block was tidy and the pool was clean even though the owners were unfriendly, I would go back again but would go later on in the season (we went in early May 2008) as it was a bit lonely with out any other holiday makers there, but at least we did not have to fight over a sunbeds etc and I would definitely not book a studio apartment. Take it from me, don't book one as there is only one at the Takis and as I have mentioned its right next to the kitchen/ cleaning area and Boy do they make a noise in the morning!
