Me and my other half stayed at the South Crest along with another couple for 2 nights in July. The stay got off to a bad start when the owner of the hotel reversed a car (with a towbar!) into my car, and got out and walked off as if nothing had happened. I rushed over to... more

Please avoid at all costs. The room was filthy, there was rubbish still left under the bed from the previous occupiers, i.e. empty beer bottles, and the window wouldn't even close. I paid extra for sea view apart from the window was full of condensation, so if you were... more

ok
booked at the last minute due to problems with a nearby hotel basic and cheap however not 100 per cent clean and very small rooms!the owners were friendly enough and the breakfast was good.
Give this one a miss!
I know there are so many hotels to choose from in Blackpool but I opted for this one. Travelled with my partner and stayed in an en suite double room. Hotel is on the Prom - decent location - between Central and South Pier - good location for walking to town, Tower, Winter Gardens, Pleasure Beach, Casino, Sandcastle. It was full of families, who seemed to be returning guests. Once in the room I noticed how grubby it was, it needed a good clean and hoover. The windows also needed a touch of windolene! Also, noise can be heard from your neighbouring rooms! Not great when its a child next door! Went down for breakfast to get a cup of coffee and the cooked breakfast actually looked quite good, not swimming in fat! As you may or may not know - there are thousands of hotels to choose from - dont choose this one!
Shame about the beds
We spent three nights at the South Crest Hotel in Blackpool First Dee and Pam that run it are very nice The bedrooms look pleasant enough all rather small but so are most of the hotel rooms in Blackpool .The en-suites again rather small but we managed ok . What let the rooms down are the mattresses on the beds ours was just 3 inches thick .The slats underneath had been replace with wooden boards and we could feel the board through the mattress .We did complain to Dee he agreed to change the mattress the next day if we wanted .We did not ask him to change it because the two mattress in our foster children’s room were also uncomfortable they could feel every spring so we decided to keep quiet in case we ended up with one like that. One other small thing the coffee supplied in the rooms was awful and I hate powdered milk in my tea The breakfasts were lovely .The evening meals were hot and well cooked but we had a roast dinner every night we were there. First a chicken then beef then lamb .My husband and one of my foster children did not mind this but the rest of us are not great fans of a Roast dinner and every day??I would have thought there would have been a choice of at least two meals. The home made soups however were delicious. One warning about Blackpool.. Forget nice strolls along the prom it is a building site they were working on it over two years ago it look like there is along way to go
