" Me and my other half stayed at the... "
Submitted By: Mr R WatsonThe stay got off to a bad start when the owner of the hotel reversed a car (with a towbar!) into my car, and got out and walked off as if nothing had happened. I rushed over to inspect, fortunately it only caught the number plate, so there was just a small scratch left. But no sign of an apology, or even an acknowledgement from the owner.
Then, on check in, I had paid half online as a deposit, (£112.50), and was asked to pay the second half, which was now £115! I thought it seemed odd, but for the sake of £2.50, I didn't say anything and proceeded to pay. Then I was told I would be paying an extra £2.00 to pay by debit card, so it was now £117.50. I paid anyway, without mentioning it. We were given our keys, and breifed on the hotel, before going to our rooms. Me and my partner were in a sea view room, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was quite well decorated, and clean. It was small, but I expect that from a small Blackpool Hotel. The TV's looked like prototypes of the first ever TV's made, but they worked, and I wasn't there to watch TV anyway! The bathroom was a bit of a problem. The shower and sink were fine, but I'd have to recommend anyone with legs not to use the toilet, as there is no room for them! There is also no lock on the "door". The door is a folded sliding door with gaps in it. We went up to our friends room to inspect that, and found it much smaller, not decorated to as high a standard, and with a view of a yard.
We got changed, and went downstairs for a drink. The 2 girls ordered a bottled drink, which were fine, but me and my friend ordered a draught pint, which was truly horrendous. Flat as a fart, and clearly watered down, was almost colourless!
On the first night the bar closed early.
Breakfast was nice, nice room, well cooked, hot and cold drinks available. When we returned to the hotel after a day out on the second day, our room had been cleaned, bedding changed, and fresh towels, which was nice. I jumped in the shower, and when UI began to get dried, when I noticed how bad the towels smelled. They smelled strongly of curry, and so did I now, so I had another shower and dried naturally!
On leaving the hotel, the owners didnt ask our how our stay was, wished to see us again, or thank us for our custom. It was simply "Goodbye", which I thought incredibly rude.
I would certainly not stay here again, and would advise others to avoid it also.

thanks once again Dee and Pam See both of you again
" Please avoid at all costs.
The room was filthy, there was rubbish still left under the bed from the previous occupiers, i.e. empty beer bottles, and the window wouldn't even close.
I paid extra for sea view apart from the window was full of condensation, so if you were under 6ft you wouldn't see anything but a colourful blur.
Breakfast was what you were given, and that was virtually thrown at you too.
No wonder it was cheaper than the rest!
