If you want bad quality food, rude restuarant and bar staff then this is the hotel for you.
Its sister hotel, the Flamingo Playa is a far better choice with cheerful staff and a slightly better quality of food.
Having gone all inclusive we spent most of our time and money in local restuarants and would not stay in this hotel again.

Benidorm is a great place, not cheap and cheerful like the old days!!.All costs are the same as UK. Use the buses as often as you can...£1.30 will take you all over the place. Old town is fantastic :-) A+ The Hotel. We were in room 708. The room had been modernised and was... more

My family and I stayed at this hotel in 2008 and we were really looking forward to our return visit this year (July 2011). Our party consisted of myself and my husband and two girls aged 11 and 6. The hotel itself has not changed at all, the rooms are spacious, the food... more

This hotel was very disappointing! Too many stag and hen do's in a supposedly 'family friendly' hotel, and staff had no control over them, they stripped in the pool, used awful language, and some downright rude! we were there with 2 small children and this behaviour was... more

Great rooms, shame about the food.
This hotel is not without fault, but as value for money goes it represents a real bargain. We stayed there for 3 weeks from mid January and had a good time. OK here are the positives. The rooms are excellent mini-apartment style with a separate living/TV rooms, mini kitchen with fridge, bathroom and bedroom plus a large sea-facing balcony. The rooms are very clean and maids visit daily. The hotels location is about 10 minutes walk to the beach down a road containing the obligatory ‘British Pub’, ‘Sausage and mash’ cafes etc. It is also about 15-20 minutes from Benidorm town centre, which I must admit came as a pleasant surprise with some very nice shops. There are also some nice restaurants a few minutes walk from the hotel. Now for the negatives. The 2 single beds were a little uncomfortable (mine had a plastic sheet over the mattress). The food was plentiful, but became wearing after a week and although we were fully inclusive, we eat out for most of the final week. It’s not that the food was bad, it was just very processed, school dinner ‘oven chips’ type food. Surprising in a country where fresh produce is cheap and plentiful. The inclusive drinks were again plentiful, but when they say local brands what they really mean is ‘unheard of brands’. San Miguel beer is local to Spain but was not served at the bar. Never the less the measures were ample. So to summarise, this hotel represents a bargain break of excellent value for money, with excellent spacious clean rooms and friendly staff. But do be prepared to spend money eating out if you want fresh ‘real’ food.
very nice hotel..but......
just come back from 5 days in the Flaming Benidorm hotel. Lovely place, rooms lovely, maids in everyday and left the place gleaming. Would reccommend this hotel,but...the food leaves a lot to be desired. Main meals, i.e. breakfast, lunch and evening meal were all lovely if a bit poor in selection, fish fish and more fish....fish fingers for a main meal, i know they need to cater for children, but there were only 5 kids in the hotel. As for snacks, unless you liked sausages and beans or salad, then you have had it. Other than that, the hotel is very good. I don't know what it would be like in the high season, but it was very quiet, of course we were there in February, which is usually quiet anywhere! Lots of good rules in the hotel, like respect other guests, and have no parties on noise late at night. NO washing or flags hanging over the balcony, which can be very off putting at times, especially if the hotel is covered in football flags and banners...so thought that was very good rule. An awful lot of building going on around the hotel, but this didn't really interfere with sleeping or sitting on the balcony. A mad donkey lives in the waste ground near the hotel and boy, can it make a noise!!! Overall not an unpleasant stay at all. We would definatley go back.
already booked for next year!!
We returned at the end of august from our stay at the Flamingo,we have stayed at a lot of 3* all inclusive hotels before and this is without a doubt the best by far !!!!We have 2 small children who had the time of there lives.the rooms were cleaned and the linen was changed on a daily basis, the food was piping hot and there was plenty of variety for everyone. The lifts do get busy at peak times but in a hotel with 200 hundred rooms that is not a suprise!we have already booked to go back next year and have recommended it to everyone we know!!!!THIS IS GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY.GIVE IT A GO!!!!!
don,t know
3/11/06 book in july to stay at flamingo when we arrived we were told that there was no rooms available and were told that we would be staying at the vistarmar s/c hotel and had to walk up and down the hill. we stayed just one night at the vistarmar .we seen the receptionist who said that we had to stay at the vistarmar all week .we said no way so after a couple of hours waiting she found us a alternated hotel(the mediterraneo 4 star a/l ) while we were waiting we were told by a few people that this has happen a lot of times that people have been sent down to the vistarmar because of no room available our(over book) all in all had brill time at hotel mediterraneo.
never again
stayed at this hotel sept 06 we have just returned home thank god, kids were running riot in the evenings, entertainment was rubish, bed sheets were only changed twice in 2weeks,floors moped once in 2weeks balcony floor was not moped at all during our stay. The lifts kept breaking down 2 people that we know off trapped in lifts for over 20 minutes, bath was filthy we had to report this after 2days even the maid went yuck when she seen the amount off somebody elses slimmy hair she pulled out off the plug hole. People that had booked this hotel were sent to sister hotels, they still kept their all inclusive but some had 20 minute walk for each meal not very funny if you are over 60 or less mobile. The food was average ,plastic cups for all drinks, except for tea and coffee. There is fridge and nothing else in the kitchen,no kettle cups etc YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED NEED I SAY MORE
Brilliant Hotel
Just returned from Flamingo Apartments had a brilliant time. The food was fantastic, lots of choice and the restaurant manager even went out of his way to cater for my daughter, who is a vegatarian. Rooms were very clean as was the pool. The entertainment was adequate, catered more for children which was fine because it kept our 5 year old grand-daughter amused. We ventured into town one night but decided to stay within the Hotel grounds for the rest of the time. Will definately stay at the Flamingo again.
All you can eat and drink 2006
Me and my family stayed a the hotel in July 2006 and let me tell you it was a great holiday. Staff were fab my 2 children loved Dennis the restaurant manager who just loved Rangers ha ha. The food was excellent and plenty to choose from. The bar staff were great John is the typical english man who always made my kids laugh. The entertaiment was ok Bingo followed by a show later on we enjoyed the hypnotist and would recomend watching it. The hotel was clean and the maids were in our room everyday changing towels etc etc.The rooms were spacious and had a big balcony and all rooms look onto the pool Lifts were sometimes a nightmare but all in all would recomend this hotel to anyone cant wait to go back next year.
Never Again
We have just returned from the Flamingo Apartments, and let me say we have stayed there 6 times before but after this year NEVER AGAIN, it has become Butlins with the sun!!! to say the least. The entertaimnet in the last years has not changed at all - still the same enterters year after year. We had 4 nights entertaimnet spoiled by "idiots" throwing items such as ice and eggs from the balconies causing mega disruption to the evening. The satff withourt exception are brilliant and definaitly over worked, the Flamingo now seams to take people from all over Benidorm to use the All Inclusive Service therfore leaving eveyone squashed into the restruant, pool area, lounge bars etc There was very little for the 12years plus age group to do on an evening hence leaving them to roam oops i mean run around the hotel like some sort of fools. The Barbella Disco/Adults only bar would be a good area for them to congregate on an evening. I have recommended this hotel to many of my friends and family, and having returned from a family holiday in June with 32 of us enjoying the delights of Cuba we were planning to stay at the Flamingo Benidorm in 07 but alas this will not happen.....
nice hotel shame about the guests!!!!
We stayed at this hotel on an all inclusive basis and only returned yesterday. room was spotless and layout of hotel was adequate. food was ok but got a bit samey after a while and although you could snack in betwen the mealtimes these snacks were cold snacks only. bit of a walk to the beach if your carrying loads of inflatables etc; but not too bad now to the bad news!!!! a lot of the guests were families of school age children (as were we) but a lot of the kids were alowed to basically round riot in and around the foyer and family bar at 1 point a boy was tsanding on top of the pool table (prob gave up pool when 3 of the cues were nicked!) if you want a lounger set your alarm clock we brits have nowt on our german cousins i actually saw people sitting waiting to put towels on the limited amount of loungers at 8am funnily enuf setting my alarm is not what i like to do on hols. and be prepared at the end of the sunbathing/pool day the area around the pool is littered with......well litter!!!! god knows the spanish must think we are filthy and on what i saw i couldn t disagree with them unless you are the proud holder of an ASBO i'd go to another hotel if i were you on another note you are not allowed to wear your bikini top into restaurant (decency and all that) but you can wander round it in polo shirts with deeply offensive sectarian slogans on it!!!
absolutely brilliant!
Stayed at the flamingo last august, had a brilliant time. all the staff were very friendly, my three kids loved it. absolutely no complaints whatsoever. the food was brilliant, every day. a truly enjoyable holiday, would go back tomorrow if possible. All waiters & waitresses couldnt do enough to help you out. the barstaff were ok.
