We have just returned from a family holiday consisting of grandparents, sons/daughters and children ranging from 18 to 15 months. 18 people in total. Never again would we use this hotel it is not a family hotel as suggested in the brochure. Food just about edible, queue's all the time in the restaurant not enough food out for the amount of people there.
No entertainment, but I must point out that the childrens entertainer's were lovely and did make the kids enjoy it. The room very very basic I think the furnishings were from the 90's, bed cover was plucked and I wouldnt have used for a duster, had dirty marks over it. The last straw came with the amount of stag and hen's with the swearing and drunks around. One group of men actually pulled off the bottom's and jumped in the pool naked, in front of 2 little girls who where swimming in the pool. Luckily that day my grandchildren and kids had gone to Mundomar so did not have to endure the mentalism of so called adults. Another group of males (some who had bands on for all inclusive but some with them didn't) were as bad, 1 of them jumped in the pool with the sun-bed
and he was in his 50's. The managment did not seem interested at all.
My son who has 3 children 2 age 6 and 1 age 4, had trouble getting drinks at the bar, due to only being allowed 2 drinks each. Please if you are a family do not book this hotel and don't waste youe money.

been to this hotel 3 times and going this sunday (2 more sleeps!!)love the hotel, the staff are friendly and helpfull, the food is always nice and plenty of choice, the rooms are specious and all face the pool, also there is a lot of things going on, darts, pool, shooting comps. the hotel is walking distence to all the things you need but is set back so you do not get people walking past screaming. xx

Never Again

If you want bad quality food, rude restuarant and bar staff then this is the hotel for you.
Its sister hotel, the Flamingo Playa is a far better choice with cheerful staff and a slightly better quality of food.
Having gone all inclusive we spent most of our time and money in local restuarants and would not stay in this hotel again.

My stay at flamingo benidorm

just returned from a 2 week stay all inclusive, at this hotel, the hotel was clean enough, food average, it was hotter than normal for this time of year, but the rooms were like a sauna, even though the air con was supposed to be on, the restaurant was also very hot, and it was uncomfortable having a meal in it. There was no shade what so ever around the pool area, few umbrellas which were in poor condition. Sun beds most uncomfortable, as they were bare of any material. Worst of all plastic cups were given all day long for drinks, inside and at the pool area, which i thought was a disgrace, no matter what you were drinking, tasted warm in them. i think they need to take a good hard look at what their residents expect from a holiday, eg. comfort, coolness in the rooms and the hotel, also to get rid of those awful plastic cups.

Benidorm A+.......Hotel C

Benidorm is a great place, not cheap and cheerful like the old days!!.All costs are the same as UK.
Use the buses as often as you can...£1.30 will take you all over the place.
Old town is fantastic :-) A+
The Hotel.
We were in room 708.
The room had been modernised and was fine, maid service was brilliant.
There is no air con, they tell you there is,so when you show the hotel staff the room and they just stare at you with a blank expression than leave, you kind of wonder whats going on !
Bars fine.Order your drink and they give it to you, short and sweet ,no frills.
Reception staff are fine unless you have a chat about air con then they appear not to understand any english.
Entertainment....rubbish.No further comments.
Restaurant.......First day when we arrived we kidded ourselves it was ok....after looking at it again in the evening we gave that up and never ate there again. The food was terrible, the worst i have ever had.(seriously)
My Holiday was great but i paid a lot of cash for all inclusive and never got it which ****** me off.

Just returned from a weeks all inclusive, can't fault the place at all, it was very clean the maid cleaned our room 6 times out the 7 nights we were there. The food was great with a huge selection and twice during the week there was a bbq round the pool. We had two children with us aged 7 and 11 they loved it too. I was a bit worried after reading some reviews about stag parties although there were some going on they were not in the slightest bit rowdy (maybe we just got lucky) entertainment on a night was ok but could of been better. Would defiantly go again.

Great Hotel in the past, not now for families!!!!

My family and I stayed at this hotel in 2008 and we were really looking forward to our return visit this year (July 2011). Our party consisted of myself and my husband and two girls aged 11 and 6. The hotel itself has not changed at all, the rooms are spacious, the food excellent and the entertainment in the eveing is good, however the main change regarding entertainment is that there is very little for the kids to do now. The hotel is over run with stag and hen parties, which I agree with previous comments, the staff seem to have very little control over. These parties have no respect for the families or children who have paid a great deal to enjoy a holiday. Our time there saw grown men running around pulling each others shorts off exposing all even in the baby pool!! I had to speak to one of the men one evening who was exposing himself in full view of my six year old daughter. These parties seem to arrive on a Thursday to Sunday and as we were there for ten nights we only had three days of peace Mon-Wed, the rest of the time we watched them throw sunbeds in the pool even when children were playing and observed one party telling the children to move to the other side so they could take over the pool, all the children were very intimidated and huddled together at the side of the pool. I loved this hotel three years ago but would now never return which is a shame as the staff do try but are over powered by these imbiciles. On speaking to one of the entertainers I was informed that due to the lack of bookings from the UK, they have no option to accept bookings from these parties to fill the hotel. I am in no way a prude and do understand that everyone is there for a good time but these parties have to remember that means families with children are also allowed to enjoy themselves. We would not allow our 11 year old daughter out of our sight at night as these men where so drunk that you could not trust them around your children. I do hope the hotel manager reads some of these reviews and makes some wel needed changes before this once wonderful hotel is totaly ruined by these parties. For the first time ever I was totally ashamed to be British. Also a small note there are also a lot of Spanish tourists now using this hotel which again on the whole was fine, however on speaking to one of the barmen there he said they Spanish are ectremely rude and arrogant and that he would prefer they did not use the hotel. Having watched both nations on their stag holiday I would say both were as bad as each other, although its was two british stag parties who ended up fighting in the pool in front of the children (shameful) for grown men!!! To sum up if you are looking for a wild weekend destination this is for you, but not for families, very disappointing.

  • Advice: Put pool bars in the Vistamar and Playa and put all stag/hen parties in there so they can do as they please and families can also enjoy the flamingo, that way everyone is happy and children are kept safe, as they once were before.

after paying £2300 for an all inclusive holiday here in 2011 i was sorley dissapointed. not only is the so called entertainment dissmal, there is an almighty stench coming from the drains around the pool area and in the rooms (not has bad as round the pool) the water in the room when drawing a bath was light brown in colour. constant cues at the bar due to a 2 drink maximum per adult bracelet shown!!although the hotel appears clean it did not go un noticed that our sheets were not changed in the entire fortnight we spent there. all in all i would have to say that this hotel is suitable only for the stag and hen partys that constantly arrive here.with the amount i payed i would expect great entertainment and decent housekeeping with more on offer for the kids in the way of ice cream and slushes being included in the all inclusive price (wich of course were not) the only good thing was the food . i have been to benidorm several times and really do love it, but i would never ever return to this hotel again totally overpayed for the minimalistic things included.

Not for families with young children

This hotel was very disappointing! Too many stag and hen do's in a supposedly 'family friendly' hotel, and staff had no control over them, they stripped in the pool, used awful language, and some downright rude! we were there with 2 small children and this behaviour was totally unsuitable and unacceptable. i found the staff unhelpful, the lifts broke down every day, sometimes for an hour or more at a time. when i was there, an elderly gent had a bad fall, resulting in an ambulance being called, and there was no member of staff there to support the gents elderly wife as he was taken to hospital. the rooms are basic, but a family of 4 resulted in 2 people sleeping in the only 2 beds, and the other 2 had to make do with the sofas.not much entertainment for the kids, and the evening entertainment was rubbish. food could have been much better [and warmer] and again not much for the children. i would not recommend this holiday to anyone. i think this hotel should either be a family hotel, or a stag and hen hotel. the 2 certainly dont mix!

flamingo benidorm too many hens/stags

i think they need to define wether this is a family hotel as it is overun with hens and stags weekendends, some are ok. however they only think of their selves and not the other holiday makers
we didnt think the hotel was that bad you have to go with a open mind
i think it would be better if they had hotels just dealing with these parties then they wouldnt upset others
our room was very good cleaned everyday, clean towels every other day
bar service could improve
around the pool there are plenty of bins but not many people placed their rubbish in them especially the groups of hen and stags i saw them just get up from the pool area and leave all the rubbish around i was quite shocked as the bins were there to be used so god knows what they thought of the british as the amount of litter left around was disgusting
