stayed there 12 months ago with my two children aged 9 and 14 years of age. We were on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel was spotless with pool activities on throughout the two week stay and the staff were very helpful. We were so impressed I am looking into booking for 2012.Overall a faultless hotel.

After going to tenerife and staying in playa afew times when I was 18-21 I was adament that the place was a dump and I would never return again. At 33 and no longer with the sole goal of drinking in the clubs etc I opted to stay at the Santa Maria in a studio apartment.... more

I can't say anything much about The Santa Maria that is negative. From the moment you walk in the door it's clean and pleasant. Our room (myself and 14 year old son) was clean and had good facilities. We were half board but used the fridge to keep beer & Coke cool. A... more

We have stayed at the Santa Maria many times over a 15year period, both on package deals and in private apts. The staff have not changed much in all that time and are helpful, polite and multi lingual. There is security staff on door and the only time we have seen a problem... more

We went as a group of 16.. 10 girls and 6 boys (age 18 and 19) to Santa Maria apartments/hotel. We chose costa adeje due to the good reviews from friends, plus the added bonus of it being cheaper than las americas! Most of the other reviews complain about the hotel,... more

Good clean smart hotel in a great position. Definately say that this was a 3 star plus hotel. The staff are very helpful although the pool attendant is super strict - however having small children I think this is a positive, but for teenagers would be a bit restrictive,... more

Great Hotel for Families, couples or groups
Arrived at the Santa Maria Hotel for 7 nights located in costa adeje, first impressions are very nice. The hotel staff are very pleasant and speak good english. The reception area is large with a decent bar and play area for kids. There is several elavators as there is 7 floors with over 600 rooms. Room space is decent I had 1 bedroom appartment fits 3 adult easy. Pool area is small but has 2 and 1heated. Bar and poolside food area is good I recommend the steak with chips you get 2 cooked in garlic again staff are pleasant. Overall its 5 minute walk to the beach and many restaurants I recommend the litte italy or morino blanco for food if you like Italians and veronicas night life is 8 euros in a taxi or a 20minute walk.
basic, but clean and friendly
There seems to be a lot of variation of the standard of rooms from reviews all over the internet - here is the low down. My wife and I went out on 1st October for 7 nights self catering with a view that there is likely to be no air con or fan, we were right. However a fan be rented through the hotel very quickly from an external company. We got a large fan for the price of a small as they had no small left which cost 30 euros with 10 back on return. A safe will cost you 26 euros for 1 week anf get 10 back at the end of your holiday. A taxi to the airport is around 24/25 euros. The room was hot but the fan soon solved the problem. The room looked a little tired, tiles etc and mirror looked like they had seen better days but it was clean and had a small kitchenette with everything you would expect inc. a good sized fridge. We faced out over the carpark so we had no trouble with noise. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The hotel is big so expect the reception to be quite busy. The pool was clean again busy but the beach is only 5 mins away. If you are hiring a car get it through the hotel, as you are entitled to a free underground car parking space. The overall view is that I would stay again but don't expect luxury, it's no Hilton! but its clean and friendly and a great base for a fabulous holiday. The beaches are great, the restaurants fabulous & loads to do. enjoy your holiday!
ok
I came here with my friends & it was ok was very very hot at nite in the apts& we didnt like the pool area it was very crowded, apart from that everything else was ok, altho the 1 bedroom apt wasnt very big it is close to the beach & 20 minute walk to the centre of las americas. would not come back here, was noisy at nite 2
Very happy customer - not disappointed at all
husband booked this hotel before reading all the reviews. Needless to say we were slightly worried, went expecting the worst and took 2 fans with us! We had a bad start, our night flight was delayed and as a result arrived at Santa Maria at 6 am, 6 adults and one 3 year old! We had reserved 2 one bed apartments - they gave us one lovely pool view 1 bed (with ceiling fan in the bedroom!!!) and a 2 bed 2 bath apartment (ceiling fans in both bedrooms) absolutely fantastic! The beds were ok for hotel beds, clean towels seemed like every day, even had shower gel dispensers in each bathroom! We had booked self catering for 11 nights and did 4, however they had an offer on for half board for 7 nights which we took up for the latter part of the holiday - 88 euro each and it was very well worth it - food quality and selection was excellent - staff very helpful. We went from Sept 15th to Sept 26th and always managed to get beds around the pool. Our party was aged between 67 and 3 years old including 2 twenty somethings! In this area there's plenty for all ages. Hotel Bar prices were higher than we'd ve liked - beer at pool bar was 2 euros 90 cents for a low quality drink. We just went elsewhere. Entertainment not very good but around the area you are spoilt for choice any way so we went out after the evening meal. Water went off briefly on one occasion but it was during the day when most people would've been out of the room - we had only popped in to get something otherwise wouldn't have even noticed. We normally stay timeshare 4 star so were understandably nervous about booking a 3 star hotel with less than positive reviews but I can honestly say we had a great time and the hotel was much better than we had expected. One good thing for independent travellers, you can book into the Santa Maria any day for any number of nights so ideal if you are getting cheap flight s which aren't your standard 7 or 14 nights.
Awful!
Just back from the holiday from hell No air con, no fans, very noisy at night & apts were falling 2 bits. Road works going on so plenty noise & disruption pool area very busy, no space to move. good point is that it was close to the beach but that was about it! would never return here - if u have booked i would be very afraid!
Average 3 star aparthotel
Stayed at santa Maria from 2nd September to 11th September After reading the reviews on trip advisor I booked up but unfortunately it was not as good as expected. The 1 bedroom apt was fine for 2 people but would have been mega cramped for a family of 4. We had no air con & no fan so it was like living in an oven for 10 days. Apart from that we had a good view of the pool & harbour but at night the entertainment was dire. good points were the beach was only a 2 minute walk & the staff were very friendly. We were half board & the food was ok. there was always something there we liked. Close to all the bars & restaurants Unfortunately the pool area was pretty cramped, plenty of sunbeds but no space by 10am. usual problem of people reserving up to 6 beds at a time & no one appearing til much later on. Place was overrun by spanish kids until about 8 at ight. would not come back here. theres too much building work going on as well
Great 3 star spacious apartment
Excellent 3 star hotel. Fans in bedroom. Loads of towels. Staff friendly & efficient. Any requests dealt with straight away. No problems getting sunbeds - nice pool bar with excellent food & service. No problems with bugs in hotel but saw quite a lot around the town. Cleaners 5 times a week. Defo going back - usually stay in 4 star plus but why pay more for the same if not better
great place
stayed for a week in august, great place, well located for water park and a free bus to zoo etc, beach only short walk away and veronicas only 6 euro in taxi. apartments clean and well equiped, (not all apartments fitted with a fan so can be hot at night) pool excellent with a reasonably priced bar for food & drink, not much in the way of entertainment at the hotel but plenty to do locally. staff are friendly & helpful, they let us keep our room till we flew on the night for an extra charge(23 euro). they dont warn you about the 60euro(or £40) deposit for the room which we had to pay cash cause card machine wasnt working but you get it back on last day. went with goldtrail didnt see a rep all week. on the whole we had an excellent time & would certainly go back to this hotel. the minor roadworks are nothing to worry about no noise in the hotel and they dont work late.
great hotel
just ahad 10 days in the aprt hotel santa maria ,i cannot praise the staff and hotel enough, also location costa adeja is excellent for families and cheap i.e beer 1 euro ,steak meal £5.00. great beeches,i will never go back to majorca again !!
Brilliant!!!
Just come home from spending 1 week in the Santa Maria. (wish I was still there!!!) The hotel was spotless!!! It was my first time taking my daughter abroad (she was 1 whilst we were away) and if I say so myself I chose a great set of apartments to stay in. When we arrived everything went smoothly we checked in and were given our key to a ground floor apartment which I wasn't expecting, but was hoping this would happen as I had a pushchair with me! I was also expecting to have to remind them that I needed a cot but they were totally prepared and everything was ready just to sleep!! (it was 12am!!) A kettle and toaster were in the rooms too which was great because I had to make powdered milk up every night and boiling a pan of water would have taken ages!!! The reception staff were very helpful and could speak very good english!!! and we could guarentee that Louis the rep was there everyday about 12:15 for us to talk to if we needed (which was very helpfull considering all the airport problems at the moment.) (Tenerife airport was also very good and there were no delays on our flight!!) The pool was nice and clean the staff were out every morning at 7:30am cleaning the pool and poolside areas. Fantastic Location as long as you don't mind walking a few hills! Really close to the beach and there were hundreds of restaurants for you to choose from!! (even a Macdonalds if you can't resist the temptation). There were still roadworks going on (but hey they have to be done to improve our holiday destinations don't they) and they were not working at night so no one kept me awake. You couldn't hear them in the daytime either from the poolside or the beach! I went to Tenerife 4 years ago with my boyfriend and you can really see the difference that all the work has made it looks as if the area has really stepped up a class!! I will definately be returning its such a relaxing country and there are places I still want to visit (The Jungle Park and Loro Park) already been to Aqua Land and that is loads of fun!!! I would definately stay at Santa Maria again.
