Ventura Park

Never again would I stay in this abomination of a place! The amount of money that has been “lost” on this holiday has made it the most expensive holiday that I have ever been on! And I went to Disney land Florida!! At first the holiday was grand, the apartment was big with a lot of space, a bit grubby and needed a good clean but then we had no idea how long the apartment had been empty for..... may have been a while as they seemed to need to squeeze money from their existing guests. If this failed to extract money from people for trivial, unlisted expenses then strange robberys seemed to take place! Robbery’s where no windows were broken and their was no sign of forced entry! The staff seemed unconcerned and the Spanish authorities seemed to be used to this happening in this particular complex! We were told to leave all bed clothes in the kitchen when we left the apartment, this then changed when it came to leave. It seems that now instead leaving the sheets for them I had to pay for a cleaning service! Their was no mansion of this until we had left spain! Even if you look on the site there is no mention of this, in-fact it says that you must order the service! We had used the blankets that were in the apartment (We were not told otherwise) and ended up having to pay for them as “we were not told we could use them”! To me this is ridiculous as the apartment was freezing at night as we had to have to shutters down for fear of being robbed AGAIN! So this blocked all sunlight into the apartment until at least 2 of us were awake. Not to mention that the apartment was in a wind tunnel which made sitting on the balcony cold. The pool was quite and boring, grubby and unkept. The staff at the “complex” were less that helpful, they misquoted me prices and were very slow at helping us with our query’s. We were not givin any option of a safe or the help of the reception keeping our valuables so we could barely leave the apartment for long! If they offered me compensation or a free break away …. I would never go back! And I would be happy with my money that was wrongfully have taken back ! Cant see that happening so I will have to see them in court ! My advice is to stay well clear ! They arnt worth the agro! If you are planning to go here, spend the extra on a hotel or apartments with a reception on the premiss hell go to Florida. It will end up the sa,e price. 12 days of our 13 day holiday was spent watching the kids as strangers would regularly wonder on the the complex and try to sell us watches by the pool! Despite the fact that you needed a key to enter. If you ask me Its more than coincidence ….

universal holiday company in salou is a real rip off. they are extremely rude and unhelpful . we arrived at the Ventura park apartments only to find out the office was on another street and closed in 20mins. i ran to get the key for our apartments and directions to it only to be told find it yourself. no help from the staff at all , no one to show us were to go , which apartment we were in etc. etc. a few things were wrong in the apartments, kettle didn't work, no hot water, shutter broken, curtain pole fell of . when i reported them to the office they didn't seem to bothered and said someone will be round to fix them sometime. after a week we were robbed but strangely enough there was no broken windows or no broken locks so the intruders must have had a key. we lost a good phone, money and some jewellery. we found out another family had been robbed too and the same thing no broken locks or windows. when we complained to the office they didn't want to know and just said report it to the police. to top it all off we left early in the morn so i had to pay a 200 euro deposit with my bank card. when i arrived home i had an email from the company stating they would not be refunding any money to me as we had used the sheets and pillows provided in the apartment and they had to wash them. i am still fighting to get my deposit back but don't hold out much hope. i want to warn other travellers not to use this firm as they are con artists. i loved salou itself but this holiday company has really spoiled my trip and conned me out of my money. all i can say is avoid avoid avoid .
