8/10 holiday....5/10 hotel.
7 / 10
Aug 2009, flg

my friend and i booked this hotel last minute and wanted all inclusive as we were going on a beach break and wanted to spend time around the pool so we wanted unlimited drinks.
this was fine as it ran from 10am-11pm.
we arrived at 6am,the hotel looked fine on the outside yet we were then told by a lad at reception that we wernt on the system and had the wrong hotel, thankgod for the goldrail rep being there, who was able to tell him we were on her records, he then called his manager who came and sorted out a room, then to find they have double booked 2 and more rooms.
we were shown to our room.."i want to cry" were the words from my friend. the room was tiny, BASIC and SMALL. we had no room to put our suitcases and had to climb over a bed in order to get to the balcony. the balcony we had a view of grubby plants and the smell of sewage. we were not happy. with a restless nights sleep ahead(due to loud music and thin windows and doors so u were able to hear everythin) we werent at all happy.
the next morning in a better mood we went to explore.there were more than enough sunbeds so getting one wasnt a problem, the pool and bar area was nice, and if ur just going away for a break this is ideal.
the rooms are very small, shower leaks and floods the bathroom, there is lack of storage space and u darnt look under the bed. one mirror placed in the middle of the bed, not very ideal.
food on the other hand wasnt so good, lunch was probably the best where u occasionaly got chips, chicken in sauce was on the menu most nights, weird burgers, salty rice, plenty of salad yet abit on the fusy side. breakfast was okay, break, honey, orange juice, different cooked egg each day, fried, scrambled etc. hard beans, eggy break, pepperami in a sauce, and turkish meats etc.
so food wasnt the best. you are much better off going to the town to eat of which we did a few nights as there were plenty of lovely places to choose from yet as we were all in. we were on a budget and didnt expect the food to be quite so bad.
BESIDES this, the boat trip and jeep safari are wonderful days out!!
lunch is included and they are all day trips so your away from the hotel and food.
overall we had a lovely holiday and we did only want to go away for the sun of which we got plenty of,the hotel is just really really basic, i wouldnt take children here yet for a chill out its ideal at the right price.

Brilliant place! Brilliant Holiday!

Me and my girlfriend have just got back from the best holiday ever in the Tlos hotel, Ovacik, Turkey. Like everyone we spoke to when we were there we were all put off by the bad reviews. Having been there for one week and having the best time ever its fair to say that all the bad reviews are pathetic and everyone who we spoke to when we were there will also agree. The hotel is at the top of a hill though is easily accessible and in a nice place. less than a 2 min walk will get you to the main road where the local dolmus (bus) runs every few minutes which you can flag down and pay the equivelant of about 2 pound to get two people to the beach, closest town or nightlife. The rooms in the hotel have everything you could need on an all inclusive holiday. The beds are comfy, bathroom was clean and the maids are brilliant and have the room incredibly tidy everyday. The pool is great too with a deep end, sun lougers and right next to it is the bar where all local drinks are free from 10am to 11pm, in this time all soft drinks including coke etc are free too. The food is brilliant, if you like to eat as much as you like then you'll love this. Meals include a spread of salad which everyone loved, chips, mashed potato, rice, pasta and varieties of sausage, chicken, soups etc. very nice! The staff topped it all off, they were all brilliant people to enjoy a conversation with, get advice on where to go or on the night have a laugh with or even to do some traditional turkish dancing! night times are enough to prevent you from goin into town as staying by the hotel bar with the staff and others at the hotel is enough to ensure you have a great night. At the same time they dont put on any cheap entertainment thats awkward to watch, its all genuine and very fun. As well as a brilliant time at the hotel we were very impressed by all the surrounding towns, nightlife and beaches. We had the best holiday ever and Tlos hotel made it that extra bit all the more brilliant.

we went to the tlos hotel last summer and when we arrived our hotel that we were supposed to stay in was shut down so we were moved in into the tlos. it looked nice from the front but when we arrived in the room it was terrible. the room was clean but they had sqaushed three single beds into a tiney single room. outside there was a smal terrace but couldnt see anything frm the huge trees infront. we stayed through the night and the music from the bar went on all night. the next day we asked to get moved to a bigger room when we were moved the room was much bigger and we enjoyed our holiday better. the food in the hotel was the same every night(chicken). the food was the thing that let the hotel down.
the clenliness of the hotel was about 8/10.
the food was about 3/10
where it was situated 3/10
we had already been in turkey 3 times before and loved it but this time this hotel was the worst we are returning this year and not letting this hotel stop us going back to turkey. i would never go on holiday with goldtrail again.

There was nothing good about this holiday until we moved to the lovely bed and breakfast below this hotel. I am still in the process of complaining about this hotel and I will fight until I get compensation. I was disgraced over with how bad the standard of the hotel where. My grandma who cant even walk keeps her house tidier than this hole. The staff are ridiculous. They fill water up from the hose put it in bottles and give it to the tourists. We found this out when one of the mebers of staff ran over to a family who had a baby who was drinking the water and said don't drink this it is not safe.
The members of goldtrail are pathetic. All of you should give up because this isnt a holiday company its a farce and trust me pps when I say that there is so much more that will make you feel sick!!!!

We booked this holiday throughh Co-op Travelcare, we had never considered going to Turkey before, but was shown the hotel in the brochure, which looked fine and felt confident as we were booking with Co-op. We arrived at hotel 6.30am by 7am. we went back to reception to ask to move rooms. It was basement level, the wardrobe was half the depth of a coat hanger(max 6 hangers turned on an angle) one of the doors hung on by one hinge instead of four. There was a dbl bed,1xbedside table and a single bed squeezed into the room(only booked for 2), the dbl bed was up against the balcony door, which you could have only got access to if you climbed over the bed.Not that we would have used the balcony as branches from a tree hung into it. There was no other storage, so we didn,t bother to unpack(had to put cases on single bed as nowhere else they would fit. Sheets on beds didn't fit, and like the towels were coloured grey. We noticed something black and furry on top of the wardrobe, getting closer it was a plastic bottle covered in years worth of dust. Went for breakfast, the restaurant was shabby and cold food was left on the side(not in chiller) from 7.30 - 10 am. we had seen enough, there was no way we would eat here. We spoke to the Rep at the Welcome Meeting and asked to change hotels, where we would go B+B. Our room was changed to one on the 3rd floor same size, 2 x single + same storage. We were told by Rep when she returned at 5pm we couldn't move hotels, unlees we paid £3OO each, then try and claim it back. The bathroom flooded when you had a shower, only COLD showers in the mornings. We had our meals out, as there were plenty of good restaurants we found, we went on 3 very good trips and loved the area of Ovacik and Hisaronu. Would definitely go back again, but not with Goldtrail or to any of the hotels in the Litera Group-how this hotel could be sold as 3* is a joke(although the pool area was nice) LUCKILY WE ONLY BOOKED 7 NIGHTS - We checked-in 6.30am sat and our pick-up time was the next Fri at 2pm, we had to be out of our room at noon, after that we could not use our All-Inclusive (even to get a drink of water). After having many foreign holidays (some AI) as a family and as a couple, we have never even asked to change rooms, let alone hotel, so its not like we expect too much, but with this hotel we hit rock bottom. The Co-op should be ashamed of themselves, as the same complaints have been made by many of the guests from the start of the season.

Oct 2008, Mr Andy Gilbert

I went to the Hotel Tlos with my girlfriend, we were both 19. After looking at some horrible reviews from everyone I went their expecting the worse, but really, it wasn't too bad. It had it's good points and in all fairness it's bad points.
The staff were really pleasant and funny. Really helpful and there was loads of funny banter between themselves and the guest. They got involved in lots of things, they even had a football match, staff vs guests, it was great fun and the staff won!
The pool area was great, good music being played, lovely pool and everyone around was friendly and made good friends there. There was a little shop by the pool where you can buy ice creams and crisps, etc. Nice little shop. The bar area was nice and relaxing, all drinks served, alcoholic drinks - lagers, wines, vodka, to cola and orange. You could even order tea and coffee but it was rare because of the heat! Good service.
The food was nice, we went all inclusive, nice food no problems with it, however it did become the same. We even ate out once or twice because the menu got a bit repetitive. But if your not fussy like I am then don't worry too much about it.
The rooms were small and very basic, to be honest, I didn't like my room. That was the bad point for me. It was clean but really small, and the shower was terrible. There was an air conditioning machine (I guess it was) on the window and it was making annoying buzzing sounds all the time. But when you look at it, you don't go on holiday to stay in your room.
Overall, Turkey is a great country, I would definately go back. Great people. Great weather. They have a laidbacked, chilled out lifestyle and the people who worked in bars, etc are really funny and were chatty. The hotel was clean, friendly and really welcoming but was small.
If you've got a family or there is a load of mates, I do NOT recommend this hotel. If there is 2 or 3, 4 maximum, I recommend this hotel. This hotel is ideal for couples, or families with 1 child perhaps.
Turkey - fantastic country and fantastic people. If your looking for some sun and a good laugh, GO!

Sep 2008,  Dj Mcvee

my comments are simply this like all the other people commenting we experienced the same due in no great part to our booking agents the COOP TRAVEL CARE who must have known about these comments and the state of the hotel and the behaviour of the tour rep stephanie and did nothing to warn their customers of the state of this hotel.etc.
My wife and i are disabled people and the food and accomodation were substandard(you wouldn't give the food to a pig it was commonly referred to as slops) because of the severe stress and probably the poor quality of the food i endured a hypoglycemic attack and was hospitalised. Stephanie whom i met when returning from the hospital reminded me of a female "Basil Fawlty" in other words it's not my fault and if you don't like it tough.
We have taken photographs of this hotel rooms etc which bear no relation to gold trails publicity and we also have the necessary documentation from the hospital detailing where, why, and how i came to be there.
in conclusion i would say caveat emptor let the the buyer beware this hotel does not meet basic health and hygeine requirements and gold trail are culpably guilty of misrepresenting it.

A friend booked a week at the Tlos...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Mrs T Hunter

A friend booked a week at the Tlos Hotel for 5 of us. I had no idea of the name of the hotel until I put the tag on my luggage on the way to the airport. Good job really cos if I had read the reviews (as I normally do) I have to say I would not have been looking forward to it. Anyway, arrived at around 4am and was shown to our rooms (3 in 1, 2 in ours). Ours wasnt bad, but our friends managed to get the room on the ground floor alongside the manhole used hourly to clear the blocked drains. Needless to say they quickly requested a move the following morning.
The rep was useless and the hotel Manager was a muppet. An older gent we talked to spent most of his time taking photos after seeing the water bottles being filled by the hose pipe! The only good point of the holiday was losing 4 pounds in weight after living largely on cucumber and tomatoe! We did eat out in Hisaranou twice and would recommend the chinese and indian restaurants there.
Anyway, I dont have enough room to tell you everything but would like to point out that if you are considering going to this hotel, make sure you go in high season cos to be honest the only good thing about my first visit to Turkey was the weather! Oh and dont bother with hangover cures, they just add to the weight of your case and will never be used if you stay in the hotel at night. You cant have a drink until you have finished one and if you drink bacardi, make sure you take plenty of money - its a tenner for a double!!

I have just returned from Tlos, and thanks to the reviews my family and i were really stressed out BUT FOR WHAT!!!!! there is nothing wrong with the hotel, just a very relaxing holiday the music is catered for all ages im in my 30s my parents in there 60s and my Nan who is 81 enjoyed everything that the staff offered......the food is good better than some holidays, more choice at breakfast rather than just cold meat and cheese, there is a nice toaster boiled eggs, scrambled eggs even a cooked breakfast you can pay for, the hotel offers a free bus to the lagoon which is fantastic, but they love you staying by the pool they ask where you have been because they do care that you are having a good time....... The rooms are very clean and the maids are fantastic, yes at a certain side of the hotel there is a smell but not all the time...............IF YOU WANT FIVE STAR THEN PAY 5 STAR PRICES
