Nov 2011, Uncle Woody

I have been to this hotel before in September 2007 and returned for 2 weeks again September 2011. Allot of cosmetic work has been done to this property, they have cleaned up the pools, put more plants around the grounds and we all felt that work and money had been invested... more

We stayed at the Oasis Dunas apartments last week July first week of August 2011. Having been a few times we decided to book the flights and the room privately from one of the owners rather than go direct with Thompsons etc which was a much better idea, we found it much... more

We wanted a budget holiday and simply put we got what we expected for our money and in some sense we were more than satisfied. We went half board purely for the reason that eating out is expensive. The food is OK and there were different dishes every night. Yes there was... more

Jul 2011, unhappy unas

We have just returned from this accommodation and to be honest I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they like noise. We had a ground floor room by the busy road and we didn't get any peace. The walls are paper thin. You can hear people in the next room having a... more

Very poor quality
Went ealier this year for some winter sun & relaxation, however all we found was an amartment complex void of any personality. The on site restaurant food was passable but the staff were awful. The 1st apartment they gave us had mould all over the bedroom wall & when we got moved it was next to a building site so were woken up at 7am every morning. The resort itself was geared towards families so if your in a couple or with friends don't bother unless you like 2nd rate bar singers & flat beer. The other islands are much nicer!
We will go again but not for a few years
Have just returned from oasis duna apts.Complex is good with two large saltwater pools.Unfortunately one was shut off for a week of our stay for painting which was dissapointing.Apts were clean and have most self-catering facilities. It does get very hot in the rooms though especially if you have a ground floor apt and can't leave the windows open. You may encounter Mr Roach spray him with an aerosol just long enough to stun him and throw him out.Dont tred on him unless you want a full family next time you are there! Plenty of places to eat,Pali chinese is good and staff very friendly also Rock cafe does an excellent L.A steak plus live music, which is a nice change from entertainment in oasis though they do try hard and the kids loved mini disco. We would go back to the oasis again but not for a few years as there is still alot of building work going on around the resort and some things are not yet up and running like the water park opposite though the reps said it should be opening soon. All in all the oasis is a large complex with plenty to offer all ages especially smaller children.
Dissappointment at the Oasis Duna
Undoubtedly the best aspect of the Oasis Duna is the superb swimming pools. Unfortunately things go down hill after that. Rooms are very basic - you can hire most things (at a cost) from reception. For example, the kitchen doesn't have a microwave but one can be hired. The hotel doesn't have air-conditioning and whilst you can hire a fan, it doesn't provide much relief. Every room has a TV but you have to pay for the use of it. Hopefully the Airtours staff will be strengthened next season with more experienced and confident members. The kids entertainment was particularly poor and was in desperate need of a fresh approach. Just the most basic courtesy didn't exist. No "hello" or "good morning" - nothing. Most of the hotel for most of the time was kept quite clean, but on a number of occassions there was litter, wet floors, and broken glass (and lots of it) in and around areas used for the kids mini-disco. On 4-Oct, the hotel management took a bizarre decision to drain the biggest of the three pools (also the shallowest, and therefore best for young children) to enable them to re-paint it. Bizarre because the hotel was still fully occupied and despite tape surrounding the pool, it presented a serious danger, particularly to children. Why didn't they carry out this maintainence during Nov-Feb when the hotel isn't as busy? If you've got young kids (in pushchairs) then you definately want a ground floor room otherwise you'll struggle up the steep and narrow stairs. Great place if you like watching football - live games shown regularly in the Boulevard bar. The Tucan restaurant is very nice. The buffet restaurant (can't remember the name) typically serves continental style food - not to everyone's taste. In summary, there are far better hotels for the same cost.
FAB
Arrived back on the 22nd sep, had a fab time at the oasis dunas, apartments clean and tidy fantastic pool. Corralejo was exxcellant loads of shops bars and restourants recommend picassos for the best english brekkie on the island spent most nites in festers fun pub real good laugh
LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!
I got back from Oasis Dunas at 3am this morning i stayed form 25th Aug till 8th Sep and i am pleased to say it was my best holiday i have ever had everything was just great. the entertainers were so friendly and funny i got on with them all and was sad to say goodbye. i do advise going because its a great all round hotel for kids and adults alike. i will be going back very soon !!!!!!
A Great Holiday at Oasis Dunas
Stayed at Oasis Dunas from 18th to 25th August 2004. (C - Block) Overall a very good holiday. The facilities were basic but very clean. All the hotel staff were very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Apartment - Clean and comfortable, with large balcony. Pool - Cleaned every day, plenty of sunloungers to go round. Very few towels put out in the morning !! Facilities - Good all-round varied entertainment. Kids club good and well run, but my children did not want to go after the first day. Entertainment at the stage each evening, sometimes cheesy but OK to fall back on. During the day there are a number of activities run by teh entertainment staff including table tennis, water polo, tennis, bowls and tennis. If you want to participate there is always something going on, but if you wish to stay in teh background then you are just left alone. Supermarkets - On site supermarket expensive but convenient. Netto in the town was the best overall bet (5-10 mins walk). For example. My children only ate Heinz Spagetti, which was 2 Euros 80 Cents (£2 per can). But at Netto this only cost 1 Euro 20 Cents (80 pence). Worth the trip just for this alone. On-Site Restaurant - All You Can Eat Buffet is rather expensive and poor value. Evening Meal 10 Euros, which does not include drinks (Extra 7 Euros). You can eat cheaper in most places in town. For example, Most Chinese Restaurants on the main street offer 'All You Can Eat Buffets' for 7 Euros (£4.50). We did not try them as we had two small children with us. Markets - Local market is on Monday and Friday but be prepared to barter. Lots of typical gifts, such as watches, African wood carvings and leather goods. The value was questionable however as we bought a watch cheaper at the bottom of town, near the harbour. Worth a visit for the experience alone.
A mixed bag
Just returned from the Oasis Dunas, we stayed from the 28th July until the 11th Aug. We had a mixed bag of a holiday, some excellent and some not so good, firstly on the journey to the complex we were warned by the rep that cockroaches could sometimes be a problem on the island and sure enough the first thing that greeted us on entering our apartment was a cockroach, we subsequently had them 13 out of 14 days. We developed a ritual between the family upon returning to our apartment as to who would check which room for our new friends (bit of a pain). Due to this we couldnt leave any windows open at night even though it was stifling hot (no a/c), make sure to hire fans.I must add that we stayed on the ground floor while the wife's sister was on the first floor and only encountered 1 during the same time. On the plus side, we stayed in a two bedroom apt and it was quite spacious, apts are cleaned regularly and plenty of towels are left, the pools are fantastic and there are plenty of loungers to go round. The entertainment in the complex isn't great, very little for teenagers to do although the little ones enjoyed the mini disco. Not far from the complex are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, we found the steakhouse La Terraza and the Showboat 2 to be excellent, great food and friendly staff, the American restaurant and Subway are good for lunch. Overall the restaurants are very good and eating out is very reasonable. A must do in Fuerteventura is to visit some of the fantastic beaches, La Olivia beach is like the caribbean, seeing is believing. Overall the Oasis Dunas are quite good and Corralejo has plenty to offer, it will be better again when the water park opens right across the road from the Oasis Dunas. A good holiday but a mixed bag
What a holiday!!
We just arrived home from Oasis Dunas this morning and loved every single minute of it. Yeah, the apartments are basic but they more than serve the purpose and the rest of the complex more than makes up for it. The pools are amazing and everywhere was cleaned regularly and thoroughly. The fabulous Entertainment Team kept us all smiling day and night and that's not always easy with my kids!! We will be back!!
A very basic apartment!
Arrived in Fuerteventura on Wednesday, 21st July. Transfer from airport to the apartment, Oasis Duna was smooth. We was disappointed to find that we are to see to our own luggages transfer to our room, and with a baby, we were not impressed. They gave us a first floor apartment which means to climb the stairs with the baby and buggy!! (very fit we are now but the dangerous-side was a no-no.) We tried to see someone straight away but they were not interested and told us to come back when they are less busy (charming!! they had 5 customers at the desk at the time!). After the disappointing start, we found that you have to pay for the safe box, fan, etc..). No, our holiday got better, we have had a good time. Lovely walk downtown, beware of the electric goods stores, they are a chain, all own by one person!! Restaurants - spoil for choice!! Best is the steak house and try out the Slow Boat. And a big hi to Carlos who works for the 'first sushi restaurant'. Apartments are cleaned every other day - clean towels and bed making. Basic kitchen, TV is there but need to hire a wire... Overall, a very basic apartment. Air-conditing is a must!!! Way too hot to sleep at night, but is not an option! So hire a fan, you will need one!!!!!!! We found that the shop, pub and restaurant staff very friendly but not the reception staff. Bear in mind, taxi takes their time!! Have 15-20 mins spare. We will go back to Fuerteventura again but not to the Oasis Dunas!
super complex
just returned from fuerteventura had a blast my 2 kids loved the apartments the pool is massive and there is plenty of sun loungers to go around the apartments are basic but thats what we expected they are cleaned very thoroughly 5 times a week and my family will definately return there next year as the waterpark is only 2 minutes walk away
