I thought the Oasis Dunas was a fantastic complex especially for families! I'm not sure I would recommend it to couples looking for peace and quiet as there are plenty of kids running about!
The pools are great, a bit cold I must say but once you get in you warm up!
The entertainment was great, especially for the kids. Mini discos, competitions and also concerts that kids get to take part in! They did a Grease show which was fabulous although they had about 20 Pink Ladies and 3 T-Birds!!
During the day they had water games for the kids and also for the adults.
I can't say I agree with the people who thought that this part of the island was a dump, far from it!! There is something for everyone! I strongly recommend you head to Music Square, fantastic places to eat and the staff are brilliant with the kids and go out of their way to make you feel welcome!
There was a small strip with British themed pubs as well which are great especially The Underground which shows all the sporting events (great for guys) and also all the soaps including Hollyoaks! It showed Big Brother every night and was heaving the eviction nights, it also had kids area as well, pool table, car games and air hockey I think you call it! Something for everyone!
Also in the morning if u head just along that strip a wee bit further you will come across the bar/cafe called The Penny Lane which is great!
My boyfriend loved the English breakfast and my 2 year old son couldn't get enough of the beans on toast!
The Oasis Park Zoo is great, do try and get to it if you can! The camel ride is an experience and if the kids are into animal shows they will love it, plenty of shows to watch eg sea-lions, parrots, reptiles and birds of prey.
The only downfall about the Zoo is that it's just over an hour away from the complex. Well worth it though so don't let that put you off! The water park is also great fun and right across the road from apartments so you can't complain.
Also do the day-trip to Lanzarote although don't do the ferry trip that takes an hour to the main part of the island if you get sea sick as it can get very choppy and not a nice way to start the trip. All the same though Lanzarote is great and we are now thinking of going there next year! We only went to beach once; don't get me wrong the beach is lovely just a bit too busy and a bit too easy for the wee one to get lost.
We hired a car for 2 days and had a look at the rest of island and came across a couple of lovely villages with no hotels/apartments only just a few cafes and a harbour, very peaceful. If you can afford it within your budget, you should defiantly hire a car.
The one and only negative thing I have to say about Fureteventura in general is that it does get quite windy and can get a bit chilly although in our last week the wind was dying down a bit so if your not keen on the wind, maybe wait until August to go!
Overall the holiday was fantastic and would defiantly go back!!!!

I had a very good time at the Oasis Dunas. I can’t see how people can complain with the resort!
The Rep's provided 10/10 service! Bent over backwards to please the guests!
Hotel had excellent entertainment and amenities for the guests. The pool was lovely and cold what you need when you’re too hot.
Can’t find anything to complain about. The culture over there is out of this world.
I really find it hard to believe that people think Corralejo is run down with no atmosphere!
Restaurants were excellent. Go to Music Square, it's class...the fire dancers are amazing to watch.
The Waiters are over friendly and genuine! Our last night, the restaurent sent a fortune of presents for me and the family! Can’t wait to go back next year!
10/10 even beats Hawaii!

Firstly, these apartments are two star, not three stars. We were confused by this when we booked.
Secondly the apartments within the complex vary quite a bit. The best apartments are the one-beds over-looking the pool.
We booked a two-bed and were initially given a dirty, dark apartment with no privacy whatsoever (it is important to note that all two-beds are on the ground floor - not usually a problem but it is in this complex - unless privacy doesn’t concern you).
The 'patio' was a couple of chairs by the side of the main path. The apartment main door/patio door opened directly onto the same path.
We complained and were given a one-bed apartment on the first floor which was better. However You may have read in a previous review about the thin walls - our first week was ok but the second week some noisy and unpleasant people arrived next door.
Also the room safe (essential), television, oven and just about everything else was extra.
The pool was freezing (we were there in June).
Very much a family complex - the kids were catered for extremely well. Everyone else should go elsewhere.
Corralejo is run-down and without any real character. We were not at all impressed by the restaurants - which by UK standards - comparing like for like - were expensive - even the drinks.
Our package holiday was very cheap and we got what we paid for. Having said that we did enjoy ourselves - it was cheap! - but it is unlikely we would go back.

My family have just returned from the Oasis Dunas on 13th June 2007 and I have to say if I had actually read some of the reviews prior to booking our holiday, I would never have booked.
Having said that, we went on holiday expecting the worst and the holiday was one of the best we have ever had! Our party was I, my husband and our two children (aged 3 and 5).
On the way to the hotel, we were warned by the rep about cockroaches but throughout the whole holiday, I think we only saw two and they were dead in the street. The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly, and the kid’s entertainment is excellent.
The food at the hotel is quite expensive and there is not much choice but there are loads of choices on the main strip that accommodate everyone’s taste and are very cheap. We ate out and tried different places every night.
If this is not your thing, there is an onsite supermarket at the complex which can be a little expensive plus about four Netto shops a short walk away which offers more choice at a cheaper price. The pool was a little on the cold side but once you are in, you get used to it. We only went to the beach twice in our week stay as the kids loved the pool so much at the complex. It was cleaned daily as was our room.
You can hire safes, fans and have sky TV put on at the Reception. We had a problem with one of the electrical plugs in our bedroom. An electrician arrived within half an hour of us reporting it to Reception and fixed the problem.
Both my children absolutely loved the kids mini disco in the evening and after this there is always a wide variety of entertainment for the adults.
All in all we had one of the best holidays we have ever had and would definitely go again but for longer, as a week wasn't enough to fit in everything we would have liked to do.
There is definitely something for everyone in Corralejo!

I went on holiday with my boyfriend in February. The weather was fantastic for the entire week, however it got a bit cloudy and windy at around 5 o'clock everyday, therefore the days were cut short.
The accommodation was pleasant but families may struggle in the compact apartments. They were cleaned often and we were provided with fresh towels and bed sheets on a regular basis.
The pool area was clean and had an ample amount of sunloungers. The water was extremely cold. This would have been refreshing in the summer, but was a touch too cold at this time of year.
The food at the snack bar was awful! The town itself had plenty of bars and a good variety of restaurants. The Poco Loco Steak House was a favourite of ours.
The Rock Cafe on the high street had different live bands playing every night which we found entertaining. Music Square has a selection of restaurants and bars and entertainment from local ragamuffins such as fire juggling and bongo-playing and a great rendition of Mambo Number 5 from a local singer!
There were various excursions available to us but as we are students these were too expensive for us.
Overall we had a splendid week in the sun and would recommend it to couples and families alike.

Just got back from Oasis Dunas, was there for a week with my boyfriend.
Firstly, I agree about lack of leg room on the plane and I too refuse to pay an extra £20 for more space which you should get any way.
The apartments were fine, cleaned frequently, nice pools etc - no complaints there.
The poolside bar was a bit shocking, food wasn’t all that nice, and it was quite expensive.
This place is more for families; it has everything you would need if you had kids but for a couple, screaming kids running around and the entertainment etc is hardly ideal.
Corralejo itself was a bit of a dump to be honest! We would go into town for our evening meal and a couple of drinks, but always back to the apartments quite early as the town is a bit scabby and run down and not a very nice place to be at all.
Plus it was freezing at night and yes, you do get harassed off people trying to get you into places, which does get on your nerves after a while.
We were quite glad to be staying at Oasis Dunas once we had been into the town. It was a relief to get back to the apartments and away from that grubby town!

I went on this holiday with my Husband and two children aged 7 and 3 and our friends and their two children aged 6 & 1. We went very open minded, after reading some of the reviews, I was a little concerned.
I had no need to be worried though, the complex is very clean and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. Cleaners came 5 days a week and changed towels most days.
The entertainment was really good for the kids and the children’s club was fantastic. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We used the poolside bar for the odd snack and the food was really good. The onsite supermarket had a good selection, good if you have forgotten something but a little expensive. Other supermarkets like Netto close by though.
The pools are lovely, kids had a fantastic time and turned into water babes, they are cold when you first go in but after a few seconds they are ok. They were also cleaned daily. The weather was lovely, did go a little cold in the evening most nights, so take some cardigans.
We visited the water park which is opposite the Oasis Dunas. It was good, the children were limited to what they could go on, this was the only disappointment as it was expensive and we were not told of restrictions prior to going in.
The park closes at 5pm, so they stopped us going on the rides at 16.45pm. Kids again enjoyed it but I would not rush back.
I will however definitely be going back to the Oasis Dunas and would recommend it to anyone.

What a wonderful time we've had! I looked up the reviews for this hotel after I had booked it and was a little bit worried, no need.
The hotel was lovely and the pools were fab, (didn't see the children much!)
We didn't use the restaurant as I heard from other guests that it wasn't up to much, but we did have meals from the poolside bar (chicken nuggets & chips etc) and they were lovely.
We also had pizza, spag bol & lasagne from the outside bar in the courtyard where the evening entertainment was & all were fine.
The entertainment team were fantastic although the hotel could do with booking some more professional acts as in the week we were there we only saw 2 acts the rest were done by the team.
The hotel is in a great position to reach the main street for the hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants and the lovely beach & harbour.
Now the negatives, nothing major, although the rooms were clean the balcony never got a mop all week so if you went on it after your bath bare foot, you needed them washing again before you put your shoes on.
Also the sunbeds never got stacked so the poolside never got a good scrub and there are no parasols, although you can hire them as you can hire everything else from reception, (nothing is free). Other than that it was great!

Thought I’d write a review having just arrived back from Oasis Dunas.
I was concerned reading some other previous reviews but I had nothing to worry about.
I travelled with my partner & our 14yr old son.
The holiday complex is big but luckily we was not that far from reception! Check-in was quick and we arrived to find a clean and spacious apartment. The walls are VERY thin but this wasn’t an issue as our neighbours were quiet!
As it was quite cool there was not a problem as there is no air conditioning. A previous occupant had been a smoker as the room had that awful stale smoke smell, but we got an oil burner and solved this.
We arrived quite late on Sat so decided to get some bits from the onsite shop and have a drink in the onsite bar... as you can imagine both were very expensive.
The entertainment is aimed at the younger children but there is table tennis, tennis & other courts which was enough to keep us entertained.
The pools are very big and only one is heated, new sun loungers arrived when we where there.
Corralejo itself still retains some of its old charm unlike some of the resorts on the island. My son fished on the harbour with some of the local kids on most days. The harbour beach is nice and clean but some of the other beaches are strewn with cigarette ends (smokers you should be ashamed!)
We hired a car and travelled round the island including the wreck of the American Star, Jandia, Caleta de Fuste & Bantecuria.
We took part in quad biking and hired a trike... be warned ladies Mike who does the tours is a bit slimy so wear high tops! The water park even though it looks small is great fun although you would be hard pressed to spend all day there.
There is also a terror hotel which my son loved & we visited the zoo and had a camel ride which was an experience.
Lots of variety for places to eat although it can be surprisingly expensive here compared to other parts of Spain although a great place to eat and very cheaply with great tasting food is American burger.
There are people on the street trying to get you into various places which can be very annoying one such place in the racing post with a very annoying little woman who spent most of her time shouting in our faces.
Overall I would give this holiday 10 out of 10, yes there was small problems but for the price, the weather & the sheer amount of things to do this is an excellent holiday.

Having just returned from our holiday, thought I would put my opinions across.
We thought the apartments were lovely and clean, spacious and practical.
The pools were well kept even though they were salt water pools. The onsite shop was expensive compared to Netto which was on the main street, but ideal for last minute items.
The bars were expensive too as was the restaurant, even though we never made use of them.
The services were excellent, towels changed 3 times a week and bedding changed weekly, there was an onsite laundrette which for 3 Euros a wash is good.
There is also a crèche to leave the kids with, which we thought was good even though we never used as my son is 14 but ideal for younger children.
The evening entertainment was your usual cheesy shows put on by the reps but practical for the kids.
The reception staff were all lovely apart from one woman, who seemed to be on a power trip whenever we asked for anything, anyone who has stayed there will know who I mean!
The rooms have no air conditioning but fans are available for rent 16 Euros a week from reception, as is the TV which for 30 Euros a week we declined on both.
There were bikes you could hire for 8 Euros a day which is cheaper than the main hire places in the area.
Overall we found Oasis Dunas a great family hotel, if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay though without kids, then this is not the place for you!

Got back from Fuerteventura a couple of weeks ago and had a really good time, I came on here before we went and thought now I’m back would post a review...so here goes!
Flights were ok, shocking leg room as usual but being 6 foot 4 it’s always going to be a squeeze and I’m not paying £20 per person to upgrade!! Good films and good bit of food both ways.
When you first land it’s quite a shock because you see just rocks, hills and the odd shanty village. I thought to myself, where the hell have we come to, but bare with it as it does eventually perk up!
We arrived at the oasis Dunas at the same time as about 3 other coach loads so it was a bit of a nightmare checking in, last thing you want it more waiting about after a long day but this wasn’t the hotels fault.
We was given our room and it was spot on, cleaned every day, fresh towel, safe in room etc. No worries there.
The pool area is fantastic with lots of sun beds and they serve good food at the pool bar!
However, I and the girlfriend went away for a bit of a chill out week and the only gripe I had was loads of screaming kids running about all over!
Again, not the hotels fault or anybody else’s and perhaps it me because I have no kids of my own (yet) but I think they should have an adults only pool/ section so they can get a bit of peace!
Some parents were telling their kids to play over near other people so they could get some peace (which I thought was wrong)!! It was great complex for families but not so good for couples to go away for a relaxing holiday.
The complex has a sports bar that shows anything you want! Watch out for the miserable barmaid though (you know which one I’ll mean!!) who seemed to charge what she wanted for a large beer and an archers and lemonade!!
The resort itself is nice and there is some fantastic places to eat! I recommend the Plaza area as the best place, Italian and Chinese were awesome! Go and see the pancake man as well near the trampolines!
Weather was nice although a bit breezy does drop cool with the wind at night sometimes!
Hope this is useful!

Just arrived back, and we as a family feel the need to let other families know about this resort, there is no shade for the children, so buy umbrella. The temp were 103 deg c and the wrong type of trees grown, no shade.
It’s a salt water pool, so take goggles, and even the water park is all salt water.
Apartments are very basic; they are cleaned but very basic. The supermarket at resort very expensive.
The entrance to all the pools are very slippy, you have been warned. The pools are in need of painting, very grubby.
Everything you need to hire inc the TV Channels for the kids. This is an island with no info-structure so they are looking to make as much from you as possible.
