Oasis Dunas Aparthotel Reviews
" Wow what a wonderful holiday we had.... "
Submitted By: Mrs K AshdownOutside down the main street were all the bars and restaurants and again all nice, especially The Castle Restaurant, which is run by English people and somewhere we chose to return to many nights.
The Island we found was beautiful, and everyone so friendly, we came home on the Sat and was in the travel agents the monday morning booking for next years to return!!
We met lots of lovely people and had plenty of sun loungers to return to the same spot every day. The skin care rep was brilliant, pointing out that although it didnt feel hot because of the breeze it was actually 116 most days!! So the breeze was much appreciated!! All in all a great resort and Island.

Cant wait for next time!!!

Submitted By: Mr C BurnhamThree lovely pools and a spacious sun bathing area. One fault we did find was there didn't appear to be any toilet facilities during the day around the pool area. We had to go back to the apartment for calls of nature. Having said that there may have been someting we just didnt look hard enough for them! The sun cream woman became a pain every day trying to sell her wares (does anyone have any experience of them and are they as good as she says?)
Needed the breeze to keep the heat of the sun off and all members of our trip came back bronzed even though we were there only a week. Lots of nice bars and places to eat (we didnt try the hotel) in Corralejo. Talk of the town pub was fun and friendly although we felt the stand in performer (Sabi) for the regular guy was too far up her own behind to be fun.
All in all positive comments for the apartments and town and will certainly visit again.

Submitted By: Miss M CurnissePrevious reviews talk about being broken in to, I recommend hiring the safe which is E30 E10 being a deposit. Second night noticed a shadow outside our window, which looked like someone standing outside. When I made a noise they left so kept window locked at night after that so had to hire a fan. No air con so would have needed fan anyway. All in all ok resort if you fancy a cheap break. You get what you pay for rooms are basic but clean. While we were there the electric cut off for about four hours which was a pain as water also cut off!!! This only happened once otherwise no other problems.

Submitted By: Mr M OrdishThe town of Corraljo is really nice, there are a few building sites that may put poeple off a bit but we didnt mind, as this shows progress in the area.
We hired a car and it was really cheap, about 75 euros for 3 days.
And I nailed her on the beach which was fun too

Submitted By: Mr N Morleymust have walked past them! how frightening was that. They stole money and a mobile, we suspected an inside job, the hotel did not care and it was an ordeal at the police station / guardia all in all we love fuerteventura the island is great.

Submitted By: Ms E CampbellAnyway, that aside and once we'd recovered from the shock we did go on to have a very pleasant holiday. The pool at the complex was very clean but we weren't impressed with the food at the snack bar.
The kids club was great and very well run by two lovely girls. My son loved going there for a couple of hours most days.
The water park opposite the complex was amazing but ridiculously overpriced, maybe that's why it was nearly empty. We had great fun though.
If you do stay at Oasis Dunas, do what we did and sleep with two chairs pushed up against your door, or if that's a bit ott, make sure your room is not right at the back of the complex, near the main road and away from any staff...

Submitted By: Mr D.F RowellThe site itself was kept very clean, the pool was cleaned daily & the flora & fauna was a credit to the gardeners. Maid service was promised 5 times a week but we only received 3 visits from the maids.
The restaurant was a different story, although kept extremely clean the food left a little to be desired. Cooked breakfast was marred by greasy Spanish bacon & sausages & a rather tasteless scrambled egg. Evening meals had little meat choices & was never served hot & very few healthy vegetables were apparent although a variety of salad food was plentiful. The sweet consisted mainly of jelly or very sweet blancmange.
The apart-hotel was a short walk from the town of Corralejo which has a preponderance of gift shops & restaurants with food available from all continents. The old port area is very attractive especially at night & many bars had live entertainment.
The island of Fuerteventura is not very attractive consisting mainly of wild sand dunes
& the capital of Puerto del Rosaro is a dump. Windsurfing seems to be the favourite pastime on the island due to an ever present strong wind, which can become a littlt tiring after a while.
All in all this holiday would suit young people on a self catering basis, looking for surfing activities & lively night time bar based entertainment. I personally will not be returning although I enjoyed the experience.

Submitted By: Ms E BruceWe recommend the catamerang (wrong spelling) expensive but worth it 91E for 3 hours but we really enjoyed it, jet ski ride each, beautiful food as much as you wanted, also beer, sangria, juice the fish was amazing feeding them so many in the sea BIG ONES you could go snorkling also. You found out about the trip by going down to the harbour at one of the huts English women run it.
Also recommend the pancake man down the main street to the townnear the top on the right facing down a bit pricy 3euros for lemon and sugar lovely(about £2.30) and worth it.
Taxies are cheap not many people realise it, and also recommend and BAKA animal park just up the road past the water park (reps will not tell you about this!)
Excellent kiddies disco, snakeman is funny too, entertainment is ok in the hotel and if you are a Thomas Cook customer you place your child into thier care for 2 hours a day however I didnot do that.
Would go again.
If you do hope you enjoy it!!!

Submitted By: Mr M PhillipsStaff at reception and bars friendly and most helpful. We have been going to Fuerteventura for about ten years and most of the accommodation in all the aparthotels is of the same standard - all good value for the price we pay.
We would not hesitate to return to Oasis Dunas.
Plenty of good places to eat and drink in the town which is about 10 mins walk from Oasis Dunas

The pool area is clean and plenty of sunloungers to go round. Their is also a lifeguard on duty everyday until 5pm. Yes, as people have mentioned the pool is very cold, but once you are in it is fine, just jump in! Poolside Toilets can be found round the back of the pool bar which saves a trip back to the apartment.
The Thomas Cook entertainment team were first class and although around all day you were never presurised to take part in activities. Every evening at 8pm was a kids disco which was enjoyed by most kids, this is followed by some form of family entertainment until approx 11pm.
Kids club again fantasic my 4year old loved attending most days and the staff working there are very helpful and friendly.
As for the resort, a friendly resort where you were not constantly pestered by touts etc, the constant breeze does help keep you cool as temperatures are presently approx 120F each day and you do have to be careful.
I would definately recomend the island, resort and apartments.
