" Oasis Dunas, Furteventura "

We have recently returned from the Oasis Dunas and have to say had a great time. My husband, three children (11, 9 and 4) and myself stayed in a two bedroom ground floor apartment. The apartments were basic but clean and the maids cleaned made the beds, changed towels etc regularly. After reading reviews before departing to furteventura I have to say I was a little concerned but was plesently surprised upon arrival. The pools were cleaned daily, the evening entertainment was good and the kids loved it. The food on site was great with a large choice from the buffet, again perfect for the kids as they could pick and choose as they liked. Oasis Dunas was perfectly situated and was in easy walking distance of a wide selection of resturants, beaches, shops etc. We would definately consider going again.

" Great "

I was very apprehensive about comin to these apartments after reading some peoples reviews, but when we arrived it was fine , arrived late at night, the lightning was poor around the complex but found our room no problem.
Our room A318 was great very clean everything you would want overlooking the pool good balcony and furnishings. Maid in 5 times a week and towels and linen changed once in our 1 week of being there.
pools were excellent, our little girl 3year old loved the baby pool where she could play all day on her own as it was only up to her knees.
Entertainment was excellent the reps worked really hard and were very cheery happy people especially Sarah and Scott
To sum it up a very enjoyable holiday for the money we only pais £700 would go back

" Oasis Dunas, Corralejo "

I knew from the price that this hotel wasn't going to be fantastic but I was pleased with what we got. It only takes 35 minutes by coach to get to this hotel. Check-in was simple and quick. We had room A218 and it had a really good view of the pools. The room was quite big and had everything you need for self-catering, although a microwave would have been useful. You have to pay for the tv, so didn't use this (we took our portable dvd player and plugged it in). The rooms are good sized but in desperate need of re-decorating. You have your own water boiler so remember not to use all the water, so that your partner doesn't have any!! I think they should change the couches as they are made from fabric and smelled and this gave me the "heeby cheebys", as you don't know what naked person has sat on it!!! We didn't get maid service every day and we went without clean towels for 3 days. Our phone didn't work, reported it but it wasn't repaired. The pools are really big but cold and, again, in need of maintenance and upgrading. The pool bar and bars and restaurants are very overpriced. You should buy tins of lager etc from the on site supermarket and take to the pool. Not really sure about the entertainment team but there are activities to partake in, if you want to. This hotel will not let you keep your room on unless in extreme circumstances, whatever this means. The shared showers are a joke (part of the gym) the drains are blocked and they overflow into the main room. The smell was unbelievable, a sewer that stunk of poo.
You are a 10-20 minute walk from the bowling centre or from the main resort and harbour. There are plenty of really good restaurants and bars to chose from. 5th Avenue Restaurant stood out for me, but it is up a wee street on the left handside opposite Flicks (another recommended place). Lots of pubs and clubs to chose from. I do not recommend El Toro Bravo at the Atlantico Centre, the service was crap and uses plastic tables and chairs, this must be a no-no, considering all the other steak restaurants. Just remember to take plenty of money. You do get hassled to go into restaurants but if you say you have already eaten or no thanks they are very pleasant. This resort seems new and is really clean.
Oh, and by the way, the great weather is not guaranteed here, as I thought. We had very cloudy weather with almost gale force winds and rain but when the sun did come out, it was extremely hot!
Definitely recommend it to all ages.

" i arrived at oasis dunas apartments... "

i arrived at oasis dunas apartments at approx 1.15pm,and to my anger i was told my room was not ready so i decided to go to the the bar and wait for the half hour my wife was told,so i decided to give them the chance and went back to the reception at 2.00 pm when the room was finally ready.
we were give room b339 which was facing the main road but i didnt mind that,so once i open the door of the apartment i was faced with a firey heat so i said to the wife i must turn on the air condition so i went in search, and came across dirty walls, poor light switches, several things broken, still no air condidion there was none,so i said i must go and get something for it,went to reception and told no fans left,so i just grined and beared it,but on a postive i would like to say the bars were fine.
also i would go back to fuertventura corralejo lovely town withe nice restuarents and bars but i would not go back to the oasis dunas.

" Myself and my partner and our little... "

Myself and my partner and our little one who is 2 just returned from the Oasis Dunas
Happy Children makes Happy Parents and that is exactly what we had our 2 yr old loved the Entertainment Scott,Sarah,Mark all tremendous fun and very professional in what they do from start to finish , the shows were 2nd to none he loved shades the shark and dizzy the dolphin we are still hearing about them now (Groovy Baby) outside of the complex be careful where you dine (some places put reserved seats and tables at the front so you think its poppular then after a while they take the reserved stickers off eg Chablis) be careful stick to the harbour and the plaza for value. Recommend The Beach for the Dunes grab a taxi and a boogie board for the Waves, Will Definately go back Cheers Thomas Cook

" Cut to the chase...

Cut to the chase...

Apartments needs refurbishing (biggest problems being the electrics (some plugs hang off the walls), the fact that the sheets aren't changed (unless you're staying 2 weeks), and safety (they can be easily broken into)).

Food is horrible; dine out (incidently I reccomend a food court in the town called Plaza, which has an excellent Indian, Italian, Mexican, Steak house and Slow Boat).

There are 3 large pools, which are sal****er, which I personally didn't mind too much about. What I did mind however was that they were never cleaned - I noticed floating fag buts, flies, wasps, plasters etc, not to mention alot of sun cream accumulating in areas.

One positive I can draw from Oasis Dunas is the Thomas Cook reps. Really entertaining for the kids, and night time entertainment was generally very good. Mark (don't know second name) in particular was very amusing.

" Just returned from a fab week at the... "

Just returned from a fab week at the Oasis Dunas. After reading some reviews was a bit apprehensive, but was a last minute deal and could not have wished for any better.
The apartments were great, they were basic, but were clean. The maids cleaned the room at least 4 times a week and were very good, towels were never in short supply!

The reception staff were very very helpful and welcoming. The supermarket at the complex was quite pricey but there is a netto near by which is slightly cheaper.

The food on the half board basis was excellent, with a 7 year old there was plenty for her to chose from. The food was hot and not too repetitive ( I saw lots of people going for 2nds - so couldn't have been bad !). The waiters and waitresses were lovely.

The entertainment was excellent and full marks go to Mark and Scott who entertained the children with childrens disco's and games, to waterpolo quizzes etc in the day ! Adult entertainment varied from bingo to shows ! Well done Mark and Scott for keeping the children and adults entertained you guys must be exhausted !

The excursions were the only down fall, I personally found them very expensive also be aware of the 'tanning advisor' she will try to sell you some sun cream etc but they are nearly 43 euros for one bottle !

The town was excellent for tourists, try to go to the beach near the sand dunes, the beach in Corrajelo was not the cleanest ! Lots of cigarette ends, and rubbish.

" This is the third time that I have... "

This is the third time that I have been to these appartments in the last 5 years and again we had a fabulous holiday. The appartments are basic but are clean and the maids come in 5 days of the week which is good. My daughter who is now 6 loves going there as they have a kids club and each time we have been the girls who run this are all lovely and friendly and make sure all the children have a great time.
The entertainments reps, Mark, Scott and Sarah (Stevie disappeared after the end of the first week and was never spoken about afterwards!!!) were all fantastic and you cannot fault them for effort. A special thank you to Sarah for putting up with my daughter being constantly at her side whenever she was on site. Having said that I found the two Thomas Cook reps Holly and Gill very unhelpful, Holly looked like a deer caught in the headlights and couldnt make eye contact with anyone whilst Gill was disinterested and came over a bit too cocky for my liking!
The pools were alright but didnt seem to be cleaned every day, the middle one had to be shut for a day as it was 'unhealthy' and one day my husband had to get the net to clean the pool himself cos there were lots of bits floating in it. Sitting by the pool was fine as long as you are prepared to get up at 5.30 to get a sunlounger (it's not like this if you go outside the summer holidays), you just get a bit fed up with the suncare advisor trying to sell her products and everyone only listens to her as she lets you know the temperature.
The pool bar and sports bar are both value for money and all staff are very friendly especially if you buy them a drink as once you do you will probably end up with free shots every time they serve you till you go home.
Went to Oliva Beach near the Riu hotels which only costs between 4-5 euros to get to in the taxi and is absolutely beautiful - just make sure you dont go too far out otherwise the tide may pull you out!!
Went to the waterpark but thought it was too expensive. Went with another family with a 4 year old who was told she was too tall to play in the kids pool! and was then not tall enough to go on some of the other stuff so why did we have to pay for her to go in when she couldnt do anything. if anyone is going in for the wave pool be warned they only turn it on each day at 3pm for 15 minutes and that's your lot!!
There are lots of restauants to go in the main part of Corralejo, we ate at the plaza steak house quite alot which seemed good value for money but i know from previous visits there are lots of lovely restaurants down by the harbour all serving good food at reasonable prices. The paella in anyone of them will definitely be worth a try.
I would highly recommend Oasis Dunas and the resort of Corralejo for any families.

" we recently returned back from our... "

we recently returned back from our holiday at the oasis duna apartments in fuerteventura and found the hotel to be absolutely lovely, the pool areas are the best ive seen yet, having four pools (sal****er) in lovely grounds. Receptions staff are friendly and helpfull and if you have a problem they sort it straight away. Rooms are basic but clean, went self catering so didnt sample the cooking apart from at the pool bar which was ok but dont recommend the pizzas. Thomas cook entertainment staff are excellent especially mark and stevie sara and scott who entertained all day with pool competitions etc and night time entertainment. Would definately recommend for families with children, went with my wife only and we had a great time even though we didnt have children with us.

" We returned on 10th after a 2 week... "

We returned on 10th after a 2 week break with our 2 young kids and to be honest, were ready to return on the Wednesday! The Dunas is very nice on the outside but could be doing with a bit of paint here and there. The apartments were ok, i've been in worse, but again could be doing with a bit of maintenance. We were at the back of the complex, next to the mobile phone mast and main road, but to be honest, this was quite peaceful - especially the night all the power went out! The reps didnt bother you too much and the 2 nights we went to the onsite entertainment they had to be commended on what they did with their limitations - they tried their hardest and once you had a few it was actually entertaining!

The town of Correlejo is a bit Blackpooly and they are out to fleece the tourists at every turn. Personally I thought it was expensive, but I havn't been to Europe for a while so that may be normal nowadays. The staff in the Netto supermarkets are very rude and a lot of shop staff are the same, barely looking the road you are on. However, seeing how some tourists speak to them, I guess they are tarring everyone with the same brush. Restuarants are very much the same - don't get me started on Kids meals - pizza, chicken nuggets or burgers are the staple on the menu! The Waikiki on the beach was the best we found - service not great, but food excellent.

Sand dunes are worth a visit to get away from the crowds (just watch out for the nudists!), as is the waterpark and the zoo, however, go off your own back to the zoo if possible. We were run round the park by the rep and barely had time to see an animal, never mind watch them! Really regret not hiring a car and seeing some of the authentic island - craved a bit of culture! We were misled in that we were a late booking and asked for somewhere which wasnt Brits abroad and unfortunately this is what it is. We usually go places where there is lots to see and do so was a bit frustrated and bored after a while, also definitely go elsewhere if you want authenticitiy and tradition, otherwise if you want to lie by the pool and sun yourself then this is a great place - just be up very early to reserve the sunloungers (REALLY annoying!!!!), otherwise you will be watching a towel sunning itself until 2pm while you are sitting on the sweaty plastic furniture!! The climate was the best bit - the wind keeps the temperature bearable and you come home with a nice tan.

" we arrived at the oasis dunas on the... "

we arrived at the oasis dunas on the 12th, middle of the night, lighting was'nt very good . Myself, my daughter whos 12 and my son who was 17. Room was basic but very clean. Complex was lovely and the swimming pools was brill except the salt water. Entertainment was fab, stevie. Sara and Scott was friendly, fun and great to get a long with. The resort was great, The Castle and Penny Lane was great to eat at. the beaches were fab. the cheapest supermarket was Eurospar which was about 20 minute walk near the harbour but it was worth the walk. Plently of night life just before harbour and a great night club there which was called flicks. Overall it was a fab holiday and we would recommend it to anyone. The Island is a lovely place to visit. The sand dunes were fantastic. Waterpark worth a visit plenty to do.

" arrived at oasis dunas on the... "

arrived at oasis dunas on the afternoon of the 9th first impressions was wow looks great pool area stunning rooms very basic but clean.about an hour after moving in a chest of drawers in living area toppled onto my 4 year old son but lucky enough no damage to him or furniture 5 minutes later mate in next apartment screams his chest toppled onto him to.and a leg on coffee table was hanging off .but all in all maids were fantastic and apart from some ants no more complaints. entertainment was good if you were willing to take part mark and stevie were great sarah was a bit stuck up for a lot of peoples liking.as i said pools were great but if you didnt have a towel on a sunbed by 8.30 then you were unlikely to get 1 until about 3.30 ish there were rules about not reserving sunbeds but nobody paid attention.the nettos down the road were cheaper than the shop on site but it did come in handy for water and the currency exchange in the reception was a rip off go down the road to any one of the banks or shops and you will get a much better deal .if you like chinese go to the china town restaraunt and have the buffet approx 8 euros for an adult half price for a child for as much as you can eat was lovely food and staff were great after your meal you get hot flannels a shot and a gift we went twice and would willingly go again well wot more can i say dont know if i would go again but thats not the oasis dunas fault just didnt think was enough for the children to do.

" Were just back from 2 weeks at the... "

Were just back from 2 weeks at the Oasis Dunas, before we went we read up on these reports and some made us very nervous, but when we arrived their we were very pleased the rooms were very clean,we were in Block A with our balcony facing onto the road we heard no noise from it at all,our room was cleaned every day exept for fridays and sundays,we were really pleased with the rooms overall.

The pools are lovely they are salt water and cold when you first get in but once in they are fine, our son loved the pool and was in it most of the day ,the pool side bar is nice well my partner liked it i wasnt so keen but i am fussy, the only really annoying think is the woman trying to seel her sun cream everyday we did buy it on our 3rd day but she sold us the wrong 1 and we ended up burnt,i would advise anyone not to listen to her as their was about 4-5 familys complaining about her, selling us the wrong factor. The pool side entertainment during the day is great we did join in alot the reps were great.

The eveing entertainment was great too the kids disco at 8 our little 1 loved joining in after that it was bingo and adult stuff which was good the eveing shows had alot of effort put into them the reps did a great job,we went to the hotel entertainment every night, everyone we meet their were lovely all in all we had a great holiday.

Our little 1 loved the kids club/ creche again the reps were really good.

#We would definetly go back again next year.

We ate out a few times the best place bein the Indian Taj in the plaza it was lovely and the Stake House which is on the street if you go right at Poco Loco.
