I booked a holiday to Club Belinda, Side. The date of departure
Was 24 June 2008 and the stay was 14 nights.
I was extremely disappointed with the holiday for the following reasons:
1 The rating was changed from 4 to 3 (which was extremely generous)
and I was not given any chance to change our holiday. .
2. There was no mini-bar, which was stated as being in the room.
3. The entertainment was very, very poor, in the first week there were 3
Football matches; there was a partner competition where they asked
for a German couple, a Turkish couple, a Polish couple and a
Russian couple, but no English couple, and there was not a word of
English spoken during this game. Another night was comedy
sketches completely in German, another night it was German children
trying to dance and mime to songs from musical shows, and this
continued night after night. There were no quizzes or and there was
nothing at all for the English holiday makers.
4 The satellite TV had 1 channel in English which was BBC World Service.
5 The equipment in the Gym was broken.
6 The so- called international buffet was 100% German food.
7 There was no games room.
8 There was no snack bar.
9 There were no Aerobics or Aqua-aerobics.
10 The only drinks included in the All-Inclusive were Gin, Vodka, Cognac,
Wine and Lager (again to German tastes).
11 There was no information book in the hotel. I contacted Holiday Buddy
But after about 5 or 6 texts each way I told them not to text me any
more as it was costing me a fortune, they were worse than useless.
12 The only game in the swimming pool was a type of Water Polo, again
no English holiday makers were invited to enter and it was the same
with beach Volley-Ball.
13 The children could not use the playground during the day as the slides
etc. were too hot, it should have had a cover over it.
15 The only chairs available to sit on (except for meal times) were plastic
Garden furniture (the bar upstairs was never open).
16 This hotel was not for couples (of any age) as stated on the internet.
17 I took my first continental holiday in 1961 and this is the first time when I
have been full board or all inclusive (with your company or others)
where I have had to eat outside the hotel.
18 When we arrived at Antalya airport the Rep came onto the
bus, gave out “welcome Packs” and told us she was having a
welcome meeting the next day and promptly got of the bus and there
was no Rep to take us to the hotel. At the hotel reception
there was nobody who could speak fluent English. Your
Rep was scheduled for 2 half hour visits and two
welcoming meetings each week which, in my opinion, was totally
inadequate. She did not improve the situation at all.
19 Whilst we were at the hotel we were made to feel like second class
citizens by everybody except the bar staff.
20 This hotel is German owned, German run for German people and I do
not believe that we should have been sent there...

When we booked this hotel it was classed as a 4* by Thomson - this was extremely generous! Thomson have now down graded Hotel belinda to a 3* in our opinion it is, at best, a 2* hotel; It is shabby and run down . The main entertainment area comprised of plastic chairs, not that this bothered us but we never saw one iota of entertainment in 7 nights. This hotel is German owned, German run and for German and Russian tourists! There is no information about anything for English people, the staff dont even speak English. Forget any kind of involvement in anything!
Our European friends, the germans, are well known for reserving sunbeds; imagine a hotel full of them! It is impossible to get a sunbed unless you get up very very early! The sunbeds are either occupied by persons or their belongings! ( A lot of people reserve sunbeds at the beach and hotel and even go on day trips just so other people cant use them.
Every English person in this hotel complained. I would be very surprised if it is even in the brochure next year. Basically you are a guinea pig at hotel Belinda, they dont want English there and dont provide for English tourists - but need the money that they bring! The tour rep Pat was unhelpful, arrogant, arguementative and condescending. She is NOT the type of person that willl help you. I saw disabled people on high floors, struggling up stairs (there were no lifts). Families squashed into single rooms and single couples in Family sized rooms with 4 single beds. Nothing was thought through and organised! You were just put where you were put and told to get on with it!
The food at hotel belinda is cheap and nasty. On several occasions we had uncooked eggs, the tourists coined it 'egg roulette' - it was very hit and miss! It is very bland very cold and very german food! Mysellf and my partner are by no means members of the 'fish and cheap brigade', we enjoy experincing other cultures and experimenting with food but when you have baked beans served as bean casserole, and fish stews that are made up with more bones than fish you know something is a miss. Chicken is boiled so much that it just has no taste. The only half decent meal we had was shish kebabs, which were reasnoble , but these went within 2 seconds.
If your thinking of staying at hotel Belinda, do yourself a favour......and DONT.

We booked this hotel through Thomson as we've booked all of our holidays with them before. Thomson really need to get their internet site updated as the map for this hotel is ponting to the middle of Side, in fact its about 5-7miles away in a small town called Kumkoy, although still plenty of shops and bars there. There is a bus stop about a 2 minute walk away from the hotel gates to go to Side and is 1euro 50.
Food was ok and plenty of it, but dont got to Turkey and expect an english breakfast- hotel did get a toaster 4 days before we came home. Bar staff and waiters friendly and tried their best to speak english. Be aware the hotel is German run and as we stayed here in the middle of Euro 2008 football when Germany were playing their games there was no entertainment what soever- not that we could understand it anyway when it was on!!! They did play waterpolo during the day which was eay enough to follow. You will find the majority of guests are German and Russian. Russians very rude and will just about pick you up and move you out of the way to get to the food before you- believe me, i experianced this 1st hand, the pretend they dont understand english- they do!!
We did go to the welcome meeting and the rep Pat was available to see at certain times although we didnt need her.
Pool and beach great, beach bar available for snakes and drinks, plenty of sunbeds in the sun and shade.
Thomson also say there is a games room and billiard table- there isnt!!
Surrounding area is desserted and the roads are more like dust tracks. There are 2 hotels being built next to this one but we didnt see or hear any building work going on- maybe it was too hot to work!
Would maybe stay here again in a fews years time- when more Brits have invaded the place!! Not the best holiday but not the worst.

We a family of two adults and one child aged 8 stayed here at the end of August 2007. We enjoyed our stay at this Hotel but would not return as we want to visit other places in Turkey. We and another family of three were the only English people at this Hotel apart from another six came two days before we were due to come home. The entertainment at this Hotel both day and night was catered for the Germans and despite requests for the announcements round the pool to be made in English they were not so we were not sure what was going when and where it was to take place and when we did find out where it was we could'nt understand it anyway as it was in german we think and then in russian. Overall nice accommodation in quiet location but not really accommodating to English people.
