Very clean apartments and grounds, friendly helpful staff not that we needed anything.
quiet resort with low key entertainment.
great for famlies with young children.
short flight times and good weather.
dont use the either of the supermarkets as they are both owned by the same people and the prices are nearly twice the norm.
overall excellent

Have just returned from these apartments, been to Minorca 5 times now and found this accomodation ok. The hotel staff and management very efficient and very helpful, had cock croaches first night in the apartment huge ones! but when we reported this to reception we were moved immediatly) We had a kids den room BEWARE when booking with first choice as their description misleading. we though we were booking a two bedded apartment with kids den making it 3 rooms in total, but no we had a two bed apartment which included a kids den. 1 twin and 1 bunk bedded room (the playstation was an extra £90 dep returnable at the end of holiday) the sofa beds in lounge very small suitable for maybe kids upto teens, L shaped and an adult cannot stretch out on one! Also if anyone from the bedrooms wishes to use the loo during the night they walk past who ever is sleeping in the loung area! We had 4 adults and 1 child and found this quite un-bearable! (esp when they are your in laws!) But we managed in what was a fab apartment if they sleeping arrangements were more suitable. The beach fab, very safe and has lifeguards, ample shops and supermarkets in resort, quite in the evening very limited entertaiment, but if you have a car hire you have the world at your feet. cash point in resort and hotel also had exchange. internet cafe up the road! we would return to these apartments but just on a smaller group or have more than one apartment. Minorca is brilliant we love it.

Fantastic family friendly apartments...

Fantastic family friendly apartments and resort. We traveled with our 23 month old son and found santo thomas to be an excellent resort for families with young children.
The apartments were basic but excellent. The ballconies and teraces all had extra guarding and gates to ensure little ones could not fall off. The hotel facillities were excellent. Two swimming pools each with a kids pool, a childrens mini water park with a few slides and fountains and water jets, two well equiped bars and a great childrens playground next to the water park. The apartments are only a two minute walk from the beach. The apartments also have a pony club attached to them. They are definatly worth a visit. They will take children over 3yrs for rides.
The resort itself is only small with one road running through it. There is a good selection of resturants. Most are connected to the hotels. They are all very friendly and well set up for children. All round the resort there are small childrens parks to play on.
The beach itself is fantastic. Plenty of space. The water is very clear and shallow. Perfect for paddling or swimming.
Definatly worth hiring a car to get out of the resort for a day or two to see the rest of the island. We did not use the bus but they did seem to be very regular.
Night entertainment is good but not too lively. Most of it centres around a bar called las dunas in the centre of the resort. They have a kids disco early evening and then some form of entertainment around 9pm. The bar is also good for the day. It has a five a side football court, mini golf course and childrens indoor play area if the weather turns bad or you need a break.
The only bad point is the supermarkets. There are two in the resorts but they are both owned by the same person so they are very pricy compared to the rest of the island.

had great two weeks at mestral appartments. 8 of us in total. stayed in 3 bed appartment. very clean and very spacious. kids loved keeley at kids club and nico and his wife were very friendly. nicos special hot choc to die for!!!! nicos wife runs horse riding she was great with my little girls!!!!
Food was lovely but agree with others not enough variety. Lunch at nicos bar was great. Staff at las dunas were friendly as were staff of hotel.
Did walk from santo thomas to son bou! took us about an hour. If going on long walk make sure you take plenty of water.
Met some nice families there. Donna and frank, Pete and Clare to name a few.
cant wait to go back.
Already booked for sept 08.
cant wait to see everyone!!!!!

A lovely quiet and very clean resort. Excellent for families with younger children.
The food was really good although pretty much the same in every restaurant.
Would highly recomend hiring a car for a day or two to explore the beautiful island.

Just returned from 1 week’s holiday...

Just returned from 1 week’s holiday in the Mestral we knew that it was a quiet resort and the end of the season, but as it was the school half term we thought and we were told, that there would still be things to do and places to eat.
How wrong could we be! The supermarkets did not restock the shelves so there wasn't anything to buy to make a meal.
The bars and restaurants ran out of most of the dishes and closed up on Friday/Saturday we were there until Monday. Everybody we met was complaining about the lack of choice of where to go to eat or if they would be open at all. They ran out of ice creams, drinks, food.
We booked a trip for Saturday pick up at 8.30 then informed at 8.35 that we wouldn't be going until 9.30, the last stop of the day was a factory outlet guess what it! It was closed.
So we were back an hour early after leaving an hour late. The trip cost 140euros.
The food that we did have was very nice and I expect that during the summer everywhere is open but I would never go anywhere again at the end of the season.

Just returned, last night, from two weeks in Llebeig Apartments in Sant Tomas, a very good holiday, couple of reservations but in order:
1. The flight and times were good, slight delay going but not too bad. The flight crew were good.
2. The resort whilst initially seemed to be bare of support functions proved to be good. Disagree previous comments regarding Malibu but perhaps we went there on a bad night. Best Restaurants were Don Tomas and Costa Sol in that order, the latter a little cheaper but good standard the Don Tomas really was good.
Agree previous comments regarding the supermarkets, the lack of competition is evident in the prices but surprisingly enough the one store stocks not necessarily the same as the other - Cranberry juice as an example. The store at the further extreme- opposite Lord Nelson are far more polite than the other - enough said.
Absolutely beautiful beaches don't be hung up on the nearest to the apartments, go beyond the Vistamar and the beach is superb, nothing better than a walk there in the morning. Congratulations on the walks there on the brick promenades/path behind the dunes they support, really are an excellent link and the whole area is kept clean and tidy - goes for the whole resort, we compared with a two day explore of the island and it was really near the top.
3. The apartments and the surroundings are good, well maintained and cleaned and well appointed, however, here is the one criticism of the holiday - not enough loungers and crowded around the pool! There are only a dozen or so adjustable ones of the 100 or so there but the apartments have a capacity of close to 300! Hence the morning rush and despite everyone saying the loungers could not be reserved, inevitably everyone did! Consequently towels appeared at 0730 in the morning, when you consider that a family of five will "reserve" five loungers there is the problem. This though is a symptom not the disease! As a consequence we spent most of our time on the beach no great hardship, however, be warned the hire of loungers and umbrella is an extortionate 18 Euros!! We bought an umbrella and airbed total cost 13 Euros, the sums are evident.
Pity though it did detract from an otherwise excellent holiday. Reception were told but just shrugged and blamed the towels on the loungers.

Just come back from 2 weeks at the Mestral Lleibeig apartments. Had a great time and wished we were still there. We had a 2 bed apartment which was clean and basic with air conditioning which we needed. The only problem were flies and ants but we had been warned so came prepared. Our 2 children 10 and 8 had a great time and we felt comfortable letting them go off and play with their friends on the complex. The pools were good but people insisted on reserving their loungers. If you weren't there by 9 you would maybe not get a lounger.
Not much variety with the menus in any of the restaurants apart from the Chinese which was very good. Don't plan on cooking much in your apartment as there isn't much on offer in the supermarkets (unless you hire a car and go into a bigger town). Staff at Las Dunas were great and the children were really taken with Pablo who was very personable.
Everywhere is clean and tidy and you feel safe walking about at night. There are no late night discos or bars so you are not disturbed by people coming back late at night.
If you are looking for a quiet holiday just relaxing by the pool and not bothered about evening entertainment then this is ideal.

We had a very enjoyable week at the Maestral Llebeig apartments. The rooms were large, well equipped and clean. The balcony was large with plenty of room for table and chairs and we had a nice view of the sea.
Santa Tomas is a very quiet resort, just what we needed. The beach is lovely golden sand, and it is has much to offer young families with small playgrounds dotted around the resort. The whole complex was well cared for and we'd be happy to return there.

Just had a great two weeks in the Maestral Llebeig Apartments in the quiet resort of Santo Tomas in Menorca. The apartments are kept very clean and smart by a team of friendly helpful staff, we had a light bulb go and it was fixed same day. Pool was cleaned every day. The apartment we stayed in was 2 bedroom, and was very spacious, and very well equipped with full cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster etc.
Resort is flat and litter free. Not much eating out choice but as we had a car for 5 days this was not too much of a problem. From the menus most of the restaurants seemed to be owned by the same hotel chain. This is a shame as it did not give the variety that most people look out for on holiday but the meals we had in resort were ok if not exciting with tinned vegetables.
Best for service was the Malibu. As for eating out of resort, try out Fornells as we had a great meal for 2 with wine/water bread and 3 courses for about 30 euros via the menu of the day at only 7.21 euros which gave a very big choice including the tasty Sole in a nice sauce.
We also had two good meals in Ciutadella down on the harbour side with a very nice Swordfish steak.
Hired a Renault Clio for only 112 euros with full insurance, via the office at the rear of the bakery. We found with the use of the car some very nice beaches and the one we liked the best was called Cala Pregonda up by Cap De Cavalleria near Fornells, well worth the walk. Also try Cala Turqueta on the south west coast.
There are some good walks around Santo Tomas, we in fact walked all the way to Cala Galdana and returned by bus via Ferreries. Hard work but worth it to have a beautiful beach all to yourself.
The walk to Son Bou is very easy and only takes about a hour each way - try walking through the sand dunes on a path that has just been set up and you could see as we did Bee Eaters and Marsh Harriers plus butterflies etc. A good walk from the resort is up to the Caves de Coloms near Es Migiorn Gran.
You could fit a country church inside the cave, it's that large, well worth looking at and the walk back through the trees was made better by the sound of the birds singing and all the many butterflies flitting about.
Start of this walk is along the Binigaus beach which is the best local beach and is used by many local people at the weekends and that tells you its good.
