Good 3 star aparthoel...could be better
from tcs2007
Just back from a week's holiday in Menorca. Lovely island. Isla Paraiso is what its advertised to be. 3 star hotel. The apartments are functional and cleaned everyday. Nice views across to the sea from or apartmet. Had to pay extra for a safe! We had gone half board- breakfast: plenty of choice. Dinner: not bad..usual british fare with some fish dishes thrown in. No spanish food unfortunately. Wine was cheap. The bar staff were very inconsistent and one guy downright rude. Reception staff excellent. Entertainment was hilarious and too loud. Take That tribute bad was so bad that it was so funny. Overall not bad for the price paid.
Not as good as expected

I have just come back from a two week holiday in this resort. The accomodation is given a 4 Star rating, however I think a 3 star would be more appropriate. The rooms are relatively clean but requiring updating and a lick of paint. I booked this holiday 12 months in advance and was hoping to be allocated a 'room with a view', instead we had to struggle with three cases and a child down 3 flights of stairs to get to our apartment! Our outlook was a fairly busy niosy road, leading to sleep deprevation. I am just pleased our child is out of a pushchair as this would have been a nightmare. The so called animation team consisted of one dutch girl who was unable to deliver an adequate entertainment service. My daughter loves to join the 'Kids Clubs' when we go on holiday, however we had to pay 5 euros per session to enable her to participate on JMC's club as the hotel's own was unsafe and somewhat untidy and was aimed at Dutch/German children. There were several poolside accidents during our stay with one child ending up in plaster due to a broken leg. As there was no Lifeguard, some children were running and diving into the pool on slippy paths. I was disappointed with this holiday and would not return. I can however recomend a trip to the 'Wet and Wild' water park and an afternoon on a 'Lazy Days Cruise'.
Well worth the trip

We have just returned from an 11 night stay. We were in a two bedroomed apartment which was very clean and nicely furnished. We were a party of 5 with children aged 8, 6 and 3. The bedrooms were twin bedded with a sofa bed in the lounge. The towels and sheets were changed regularly and cleaned daily. There was a TV in the room which included Sky News but mainly German channels. ( My children did however still watched SpongeBob Square Pants in German) We chose half board and the quality and quantity of food was excellent. The waiters were attentive and polite. The menu changed daily with a range which kept the children happy too. The evening entertainment commenced with the Crazy Kids Club Disco at 8.30. My children loved this and had to be dragged away and put to bed during the main performances, ( which were also very good) The only drawback was that we were in the first block nearest the entertainment and the noise travelled into the apartment. The resort itself is fairly quiet and geared towards young families. The beach was spotless and could be accessed easily via steps at the side of the hotel. Whilst the resort had ramps to the beach etc, the hotel did not and you had to use stairs throughout the site, this may be a problem if you have very young children and buggies.
Loved the Isla Paraiso

Just returned from the Isla Paraiso in Menorca and it was fabulous. I went on my own with my daughter who is only 4 years old and the whole experience was great. The apartments were spacious, well furnished and very clean, in fact the maids came in every day and changed the sheets every other day. The reception staff were brilliant and organised car hire for me and all areas from pool to bar areas were clean and well staffed. I did not stay half board so cannot comment on the food but there are plenty of restaurants in the resort, although they are fairly expensive - expect to pay as much as England. There was a good entertainment programme with lots of bands and entertainers (very good) and my 4 year old absolutely loved watching them from the four tops, bee gees to african acrobats!! I would recommend this hotel - particularly for families although I had no problem being on my own, in fact everyone was even more friendly. I will consider going back again.
great family holiday

Hotel and location beautiful, very well kept. Apartment spotlessly clean, towels changed and apartments cleaned every day. Staff really helpful and friendly. Entertainment brilliant, we were there with our children aged 10 and 5. Shows included Beatles, Four Tops, spanish dancers, acrobatic show, kids loved shows never in bed before 11pm. Shows started at 9pm, at 8.30 every night there was a kids disco, kids enjoyed joining in although some words in music were in German. Pool kept lovely and clean, plenty of sunlougers. We stayed self catering but hotel restaurant was not expensive, neither were surrounding eateries. Try White Sands for a meal with a fantastic view overlooking bay, its the last restaurant on the way down to the beach. Most of the rooms on the first floor upwards had a view of the cove. Beach is lovely and quiet, sunloungers are there if you want to pay but we just layed on towels at watersedge. Wade out to waist height in water and drop old crusts in, watch the fish come and eat. They are beautiful, lots of people were there with snorkels. Seems very safe for children a real family resort, no late night bars, or rowdy behaviour, almost all people in our hotel were families with kids and some even had grandparents with them. Definately going back had a fabulous time.
Superb and Clean, what more do you want????

October 20th through to the 27th. The Hotel and resort was partially closed, Thomas Cook made no mention of this in their brochure nor on the web site. We were swapped from the Arepar Apartments which we had booked, although the complex is one and the same. We had hired a car and made our own way to the Arepar, no mention yet again from Thomas Cook of any changes, had we not stopped at The Isla Paraiso to ask how to get into the Arepar, we would probably ended up back at the airport and a very early flight back home. Now the really good stuff, the complex is very clean, all the rooms are very good sizes, our two bedroom apartment was spotless throughout. All the staff were very friendly and genuinely seemed as if they cared. There are a lot of seps down to the beach, so the brochure got something right. There are two beaches, one very small one attached to the Sun Terra Club, and the other a much larger beach. Most of the restaurants were closed, so we made our way down to Fornells and found a very good restaurant which did true Spanish food. The local Bar Restaurant "Smithies" was adequate but it was like eating in a small eatery in England. The Hotel restaurant was only serving a self service menu, so we didn't try it. The swimming pools were fairly cold, but very very clean and not chlorinated. The holiday itself was superb, the weather was surprisingly warm for the time of year, temperatures in the high 20's, and NO RAIN. The hotel complex is one we would recommend to families and couples alike. We are currently waiting on a reply from Thomas Cook about various issues that marred what was a really great time at the well named Isla Paraiso.
Better than Greece last yesr and that was good!

We were not sure what to expect being our first visit to the island. The apartments were recommended to us by the assistant in the Thomas Cook shop and we took it at face value. What can I say, the place is fantastic, we booked a self catering trip but ended up using the Isla Paradiso buffet all but one of the days we were there. There was a great selection of quality food and the staff were kind, friendly and all spoke English. Other facilities were also very good, the apartment itself was very clean, tidy and well laid out, the facilities were more than sufficient and well maintained. We did not have a kettle when we arrived but after mentioning this to one of the reps, we were provided with one within the hour. Our location next to the clean, warm pool was ideal for the three children who seemed to live by the pool the entire time we were there. The 5 minute walk to the beach does involve a lot of steps so those with walking difficulties may struggle but if you take your time, its worth the walk. There is a small beach to the north of the main beach and this was where we spent our time. Take a mask and snorkel or buy one there from the many shops that cater for the warm sea water. The underwater fishes are great to watch and a crust of bread will make the water boil with activity! Being at the north east of the island and being a bay within a bay, the sea is very calm and sheltered, we took out a pedalo boat into the bay and enjoyed the views and the sparkling water, there are also small powered 'Xoom' craft that can be hired, these are both fun and allow you to explore further a field. We were there end of season so things were more quite than peak time but still, all the shops were open till late, there was plenty of verity and things to do for both adults and the kiddies. Not at all noisy and slightly cooler on a couple of days, some thunder in the evenings including a spectacular electrical storm on our last night there. Very highly recommended, all the people we spoke to while there agreed that they would come back to the Isla Paradiso and were more than satisfied with the overall resort and facilities.
Excellent for families

We travelled to the Isla Paraiso in August 2006 with two children (aged 9 and 5). The hotel is just as described in the brochure and on websites. The rooms are well sized and have all you need (except for kettle!) - especially the two bedroomed apartments that are very spacious for a family of four. The cleanliness levels are very high, not only in relation to your room, but to all public areas, pool and passageways. The staff (reception, bar, dining room, entertainment, maids) are all wonderful - nothing is too much trouble and they all make you, and your children, feel very welcome. Plenty of sunbeds and umberellas at the pool side. Excellent and varied menu at breakfast and dinner. The entertainment is just enough - and young children will really like the 'mini disco'. When getting around there are quite a few steps although we did not find this a problem and the short walk to the beach is very pleasant. Would recommend the apartments overlooking the pool. If you like it a bit quieter then ask for an apartment near to the children's paddling pool / park area - although the whole complex is quite quiet. The ground floor apartments are very good for those spending to the whole day by the pool, or for those who like thier 'own space' - ie able to put sun loungers right outside thier own apartment. All in all I would highly recommend the Isla Paraiso and would stay again. Hope you found this review helpful.
Great Hotel for families
from threetenors
This was my first package holiday for a number of years so I wanted somewhere where the children could be entertained while we relaxed. I was very pleasantly surprised. This hotel provided everything we needed. Mini club and Kids Club, evening entertainment, spacious, clean, air conditioned and well appointed apartments. The beds were changed twice a week and towels could be exchange daily when the maids cleaned the rooms. There was an excellent variety of food at both breakfast and Dinner and it was constantly refreshed. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and any problems were sorted out very quickly. I would thoroghly recommend this hotel to anybody especially with a family. And we always found that sunbeds and parasols were available.

This is a wonderful aparthotel, all the apartments are clean & well furnished, the staff are really helpful. The hotel is a short walk from the beach & close to some little shops. The only downfall is there are not enough sun loungers around the pools and the umbrellas need replacing, hopefully that will be done for summer 2005.
My family and friends (9 all together) booked this hotel after the great reviews in good faith 10mths before departure. A day before we travelled we were told that we were overbooked. After finding out the truth the Manager of the hotel doesn't like to have any unbooked... more
