Marina Studios & Apartments

The Marina Apartments in our opinion were poor value for money. The quality and size of rooms differ enormously and we got one of the poorer ones which had a damp feel about it.
The owners were very friendly but we were disappointed no bar or lounge area where we could socialise with other guests. The beach as the resort suggests was wonderful.
The right choice of resort the wrong choice of accommodation.

The Marina apartments are situated near the beach but for direct access you have to walk through the large camping site, otherwise you need to walk round it.
Our apartment was on the ground floor and was small, but it was well equipped. We thought this accommodation was vastly overpriced as it had no facilities lounge, swimming pool etc. Air conditioning was expensive and we were given clean"damp" towels twice which was a real turn off.
Golden Beach is a lot busier than when we came here 5 years ago

We have just returned from a fortnights stay at the Marina studios, what can I say - the best holiday I have ever had. The resort was stunning and the Marina studios were so clean - Magda and Lally work so hard and they really made us feel welcome.
We travel abroad about 3 times a year mostly to Greece and this is one place we will definitely be returning to.

I was extremely disappointed with The Marina studios especially considering the price we paid.
Our room was very small situated on the ground floor and with limited daylight. There were no addition facilities here like a lounge, bar or swimming pool. Additionally between this accommodation and the beach was a camp site which could get noisy.
Very poor value and not recommended. I would return to the resort of Golden Beach again but would not stay at the Marina again. I fail to see how it got it star rating in my opinion only worth 1*.

The island of Thassos is full of contradictions, compact and full of life, yet still isolated, with mountain ranges and beautiful beaches. A quiet island without even an airport, it certainly is one of the most ‘Greek’ of the Greek islands.
Staying in the resort of Golden Beach we had few bars and restaurants to our taste however, with barely any customers. (This was almost the end of the season)
However what seemed a short walk away (but a very long stagger) was the resort of Skala Potamis with a larger selection of restaurants and bars and a few more customers.
Unfortunately the name ‘Golden’ is not what I would have called the beach in our resort, (due to the enormous amount of wasps and litter) however a drive to the quiet and isolated Tippiki beach a few miles away fulfilled our requirements.
I would certainly recommend a trip to Thassos, the ferry journey alone is worth the trip. However you would need to be quick as I’m sure the ‘greekness’ of this island will be replaced with lager louts and plenty of fried breakfasts and chips fairly soon.
