This was Our ftirst visit to the Corona Del Mar,but it will not be Our last. We were on a one Month Stay. The Hotel in my opinion is in the best part of Benidorm, with a good quite Beach, and a wonderful new Promonade that is flat and safe. Elderly or Handicaped should have... more

My 10 year old son and I spent a week in this hotel at half term. The hotel is set back from the main road close to a busy junction. This was not a problem as the location is excellent - one block back from Poniente Beach, bus stops in close proximity, approximately 10... more

We go to Benidorm every year and this year stayed at the Corona Del Mar. The whole hotel was very clean. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard by friendly maids who all seemed to speak some English which we were impressed with. The towels were changed daily and... more

Had one week in this 4 star hotel, very clean, fab reception, food not 4 star and menu very basic, beautiful pool area, loads of spare loungers and not over crowded. The hotel is well positioned for everything. The beach, bars, busses, taxis, the hotel is very reasonable... more

The room we had was at the back of the Hotel over looking the Cemetery. The sun never gets to the back of the Hotel and it is in the shade constantly. When you are on holiday it's nice to have a better view than a cemetery and a bit of sun! We decided to pay the... more

We went to this hotel in October 2005 and it was a great hotel. Except... When we got there it was round about 9:30pm. We got our room number and our card and went to our room & we asked for a key for the safe but they said we would have one later that night. Once we got... more

nightmare
we arrived at the hotel late at night to be told that our booking was not on the system. we were therefore advised to take dinner while they looked into the matter further. The resturant was cafeterria style with a limited selection of food..most of which was very bland and tasteless. It reminded me somewhat of school dinners if i am being honest. After finishing our meal we were advised by the reception that our booking was not on the system as the supplier we had booked our holiday though had gone out of business and since they had not received any money from the supplier we would not be entitled to stay at the hotel. Far from being sympathic to the predicment we were in the hotel staff found the sitution quite amusing and told us that we would have to pay more money if we wanted to stay at their hotel, at one stage they even told us to call the supplier to get the money for them. We were not permitted to use their telephone and when we asked them to write a letter for insurance purposes they refused to provide the full information about the situation. I have travlled extensivly throughtout the world and i can honestly say that this has been the worst level of customer service i have experienced on any of my travels. The level of service was abismal.
Fantastic holiday at The Corona Del Mar in Spain
My sister and our 4 daughters had a lovely week in Benidorm staying at the Corona Del Mar. It was perfect for us - the rooms a good size for 3, and so clean! We were there from 17-24 December 2005, and it was the perfect place to relax before Christmas. The hotel was very quiet - not a lot going on in the evenings, but the atmosphere was great. We had full board, and we looked forward to meal times. The menu was quite varied, and plenty of food for all. All the staff were very polite and friendly. We used the indoor swimming pool several times - it felt like our own private pool. The location of this hotel was great as it is right by the beach, and a nice stroll takes you to the shopping centre. The weather was beautiful for December, we even spent some time on the beach. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break by the sea, at a reasonable price!
Could have been better!
Just got back from Benidorm. I was staying at Hotel corona Del Mar. There was 10 of us and the hotel wasnt very good. As soon as we got to are rooms there was a problem they mixed the rooms up! so that was a bit of a promblem but we was looking forward to dinner which wasa downer because every night they have most of the same food not really a selection! breakfast was nice though cereal full english and toast etc. In the night there was nothing on though so we went out into new town. I have to say of a day it was very quite its mostly Old couples (nothing wrong with that) the good thing about this hotel is that it is right next to the beach and we did have a room looking over at it which was nice! The staff are Ok but not the best around! they acted like they didnt want us there and not very good english! but over all the hotel was good but not for a gang of girls! we are returning to benidorm next year but staying in a hotel in new town! closer to the pubs and clubs!
Marble Palace
This hotel was lovely. Very clean, nice food, lovely swimming pools (both indoor and out), plenty of lifts. This was one of the smartest hotels we have stayed in so far. We would stay there if we wanted to go back to Benidorm.
30 ways of cooking Frankfurter sausages at lunch!!!
We booked this hotel due to the reviews in this site and others as we found out that the food reports were all good news. I was also impressed with the recently won awards. We arrived on 19th Feb 2005 to this nice and smart but very bog standard hotel, the staff were OK but not overly pleasant or friendly to be advised our room was ready (520) at the rear of the hotel with no sun at all overlooking a graveyard. We had arrived at lunch time and so went to lunch, I was not at all impressed with the very poor selection of food neither was my wife, the quality was very good but to only have max 2 veg with every meal and not a great selection we were dissapointed. We did eat out most days as we could not cope with the 30 different ways of using Frankfurther sausages with every meal by covering them in different sauces or the shreaded turkey or veal in place of beef!!!. I have to be honest though and say that Breakfast was very good with a good range on offer including full english and we were also impressed with the cost of Wine with the meals (5 euros a bottle!!!). I would not stop in this hotel again as there are so many on offer and this does not excel in any place, the location on a busy road is also a minus point with an average 30 mins walk into the new town bar areas. I would recomend a hire car as I always do and the cost of secure parking at the hotel was only 5 euros a day.
Great hotel
Just spent a great week in Benidorm with my partner. We stayed in the Corona del Mar, in a sea-facing (balcony) room, at extra charge. We had a super time there, apart from the poor selection of food! Both breakfast and dinners were not the best! a disappointing selection for what was a 4 star hotel! The hotel seemed to cater mainly for British senior citizens, I would say 95% + were retired UK couples (nothing wrong with that, I may add). One last thing, was the 'mini-bar' I always stock up on arrival with my own chilled drinks etc. There was a sign in the bedroom clearly stating " If you wanted to use the fridge for your own use, there would be a charge" (about 18 euros per week) I think that is unfair. All in all, a good, clean, central four star hotel, I'd use again, but not on a half board basis!!
a great break
This is a lovely hotel, very clean large rooms, lovely indoor pool always empty, reception staff very helpful. great position in Benidorm ,just a short walk to the pretty old town. Food was good on the whole. Quite a lot of old people at the time of year, just a few families, never seemed busy. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a quiet winter break. Weather was excellent in December.
good hotel but not 4*
visited end november almost all guests british on package deals - some spanish at weekend staff helpful most of the time but bar/waiting staff under pressure most evenings when 'entertainment' available. entertainment mostly singing duo whos' command of english taken from phrase book. drinks well priced for ostensibly 4* hotel but more like 3*. location good - near beach but lots of traffic and sometimes difficult to cross road. food average but breakfast good. rooms good but noisy from 7am from traffic on busy road. booked with bedbookers on a good deal so would definitely would go again for same price. hotel geared towards british oldies!! car parking facilty great but expensive and staff took ages to let you in/out c. morris northamptonshire
Great Hotel
My wife, 10 month old son & I stayed for a week at The Corona Del Mar in July 2003 & it really made our holiday, the place was clean, tidy & kept to a really good standard. The staff were friendly & welcoming, really made a fuss of the baby & couldn't do enough for us. The pool was great, I enjoyed the slide (BIG KID). The food & wine was excellent. Good location, just over the road to the beach. A real 4* hotel at last, highly recommended. The McAuleys.
Too Spanish
My family andI stayed here in 2000 and it was a nightmare. The hotel is top notch, but 99% of the guests are Spanish and that means that everything is geared towards them. The entertainment is Spanish, and the pool water slide is switched off between 1 and 4 in the afternoon for siesta time! It didn't seem to matter if some of the guests were not from Spain, we were definitely not catered for at all.
