Feb 2011, 11brits

This was the worse hotel myself & partener & our 11yr old son have ever been too. When we arrive at 3am we told we were not booked in at there hotel,4hrs later they sorted our room after lots of debating from us. We payed for sea veiw was not one. We payed for sandy beach there was no sand just boulders. We where all inclusive, bad move as food was revolting plus you got same menu for breakfast, dinner & evening meal. My poor son lived on rice, bread & boiled burgers all week.We couldnt even drown our sorrows as the sprits were un drinkable.
We meet up with 9 other brits on our second day amounst 300 + Russions. We all hated the place, two of the british men nearly ended up fighting with one of bar staff as he bardge the younger of the men twice & swore at him in turkish, but eventully the older man got management to make the barman appologise to our friend.

This hotel is a nightmare in every...

Sep 2007, Mr K Forster

This hotel is a nightmare in every sense. Do not go there if you are British. The hotel caters for eastern European and Russian customers, the standards are not what we are used to here in the UK.
A five star hotel should at least have the facilities of other five star hotels that we have stayed in around the world.
This hotel is no more than a three star at best and that is stretching the imagination. The staffs plead ignorance and cannot speak English (unless they want to).
I managed to organise what I was told would be some better food for a group of about 40 Brits for a few nights and even the gold trail rep joined in but in reality the food was no different to the rest of the rubbish served at every mealtime, which was on a first come first served basis which meant if you were late there was nothing left.
The owner of the hotel told us he could not afford to give the British customers the quality of food that we would normally expect because the Russians would want the same and he would not make any money!!!!!
The cold drinks machines and the ice maker were all connected to the mains water supply, now every holiday that I have ever been on you are told do not drink the mains waters you will get a tummy upset, guess what? Everyone had a tummy upset.
I have just received a reply to my complaint from gold trail where they say tummy bugs must have been picked up from outside the hotel very strange as we did not eat or drink outside of the hotel as we didn’t have the energy to go anywhere because of our bad tummies!!!!
They refute any claims against the hotel but, read all of the reviews on all of the websites and decide for yourself.

This is a warning to all British...
1 / 10
Aug 2007, Mr I Cunningham

This is a warning to all British holiday makers - do not under any circumstances visit this hotel.
The least of your worries is that it does not live up to your expectations! You may end up with food poisoning or an injury or worse if you're very unlucky!
My partner and I booked a 5 star all inclusive holiday at this hotel and so this is what we thought we would get. Having previously worked for a major UK operator I am not naive in what to expect from resorts/hotels overseas and I’m aware that sometimes they are not quite what we are used to in the UK and therefore we may judge the rating as slightly different. Many hotels and resorts worldwide however live up to the rating they have been assigned.
This hotel is not worthy of a 5 star rating. In the UK it would be lucky to get a 3 star rating. The hotel we arrived at looked like a tower block. It was dirty in the reception area. The staff were very rude and not interested, in fact I think they disliked us.
I know how to talk to people in foreign countries and show them respect - it's not hard so it wasn't me who was the problem.
The room was dirty and had hairs in the bed and there was no view. The bathroom was dirty and the floor on arrival was saturated in water mixed with urine.
The pool area was dirty and many guests slipped over thus making it dangerous. The lift was smashed, had graffiti all over the inside and stank of urine.
It is geared up for Russian and Polish tourists and not the Brits.
When we complained to the manager he simply shrugged his little shoulders and walked off! What a wonderful world we live in - some people just couldn’t care less.
We stayed in this hotel for around 3 hours, yes hours. That was sufficient time to come to the conclusion that it was an accident waiting to happen - a death trap!
We left by taxi and had to fork out 75 ponds for a taxi and another 1000 pound for accommodation and food in Antalya after we found all the accommodation booked up. We ended up in the hotel next to the airport and so there was no beach.
Whatever you do, do not go to the concordius celes hotel!!!
If you want to throw your money away please back an outsider in a horse race, buy a few hundred lottery tickets, put it all on red or black or jut burn it! You will be better off and have more fun - I promise you!!!
I forgot to mention you have to pay extra for your sun beds on the beach and for your breakfast - what an absolute liberty!!!
Happy travelling!

Aug 2007, Mr M Shiels

I would agree with everything the others above have said and furthermore urge all British people to avoid this hotel.
My wife and three children all suffered from severe stomach upsets which was the final straw for me. After one week of a 2 week holiday I checked my family out and booked another hotel.
It started badly when we could not check in for 6 hours as our room was not ready, and after being told to go to the pool to relax, my daughter slipped on the nice shiny tiles around the pool and cut her foot open (which cost me £35 for it to be bandaged).
There were constant power cuts and as there is no back up generator you were often in complete darkness, which was very frightening for the children. On our floor there were also people were trapped in the lifts.
The food, as with the entertainment, was geared towards the Russian guests and was absolutely disgusting. The kids survived on bread and rice. The only meat I saw I could not recognise and we were later told it was rabbit!
There is nothing nearby and nothing to do. We spent most of the week in the bathroom being ill and after checking out spending the next week recovering.
Do not go - you have been warned!

Having spent 2 weeks at this hotel I feel I must advise anybody preparing to stay here that they should be prepared for a very disappointing holiday.
My partner and I met various English couples during our stay and all were of the same opinion, we all wished we were somewhere/anywhere else.
On the day of our departure people were coming up to us and asking if they could go home in our place and we remain for their holiday period, needless to say we declined!!
I would liken it to a 1 star Lybian hotel with Russian guards. The food is atrocious and meal times were like a rugby scrum with the Russians being the opposing team.
We went out a few times to eat so that we had at least some decent food during our two weeks!
The pool area, though clean and well serviced, is not patrolled or supervised in any way and people coming down the water slide frequently collide with swimmers.
The entertainment is sadly lacking and all the hotel indoor games such as computer games, internet and pool cost extra.
The drinks situation is a joke, you can have local vodka, local gin and local whisky, everything else such as Bacardi, Brandy, rum etc costs extra. All these drinks were only available if you could catch a member of staff at the reception bar, not always possible.
We went on 2 trips out arranged through the Gold trail rep. The first started an hour late because the guide overslept, consequently it was the "shortened trip", the second trip was supposed to include a visit to a jewellery house but we went straight past it.
I have given this hotel a rating of 1 only because it is not possible to allocate a lower rating.

Jul 2007, Mrs A Atcha

Firstly this is a warning to all the British tourists on the hotel is no way a 4/5 star as you might have been told. If it was advertised as a 3 star and below then many British people would not be complaining.
The actual resort itself is ok the swimming pool is clean and enjoyable for all ages, the games room is shabby, the best thing for me in this resort is the spa it’s well worth the money and the service is good.
The staff at hotel reception are not really helpful as they don’t really understand English, the actual resort is dominated by the Russian tourists, this was not made clear when booking the holiday and I feel it should have as the resort is clearly not catered for the British public.
The worst thing is the food there is no indication of what you’re eating as no labels have been stuck on the dishes, so you don’t know what you’re eating, it’s all liver and kidney, food was disgusting.
To be honest dinner times were like a zoo! You could not get in edge ways. The only thing we actually appreciated was one day when they had mash potatoes!
The last few days of our trip was ruined even more by power cuts there properly still going on this was horrible, especially when it’s 47 degrees and you cant switch on the A.C.
The resort is located in the middle of nowhere to get to the nearest town is over an hour away. So you’re stuck in there unless you go out of the resort.
However the entertainment team made our trip more fun as they really went out of their ways, and funny.
The beach is not how it looks in the pictures its full of pebbles, you have to pay for towels, and you also have to pay £10 a week for a safe in your room I mean that is just madness!
Overall I think we and many other British people were glad to be going home, Turkey is a beautiful country and there is so much to see, I would go back again but to another resort and a different part of Turkey.
Celes Resort have a lot to improve if they want to attract more British people to the resort, its basic things like food! The attitude of "we will eat anything" aint gonna work in their favour.

This must be the worst hotel ever. We were all ill because of the food.
The pool was hardly cleaned. The place was full of Russians who were rude.
They cooked chicken heads on the bbq. Nothing to do in the evening as the entertainment was very bad.

Jun 2007, skinflint

We recently stayed at the celes beach resort for 2 weeks the pool was clean and the staff were friendly, it is not ideally situated with nothing but a few scruffy shops in the vicinity. Food was nice apart from the evening as the were no decent meat dishes
The weather was amazing which made our stay plus the animation team.
it is definitely not a 5 star as listed it's just about a 3 star and I would advise the Brits to avoid it. This hotel is mainly Russian also.
There are plenty of excellent hotels nearer to Alanya, not next to noisy dual carriage ways like this one.
Distance from airport was about hour and a half.

Good Points:
The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The pool was nice and food was good.
Bad Points:
The hotel is 40 minutes taxi ride from even the nearest bar, it is surrounded by other all inclusive hotels.
The gym, equipment was mostly broken as was internet and table tennis.
All inclusive beer is 1.5%. The hotel advertises as 5 stars, this is not the case by British standards.
Goldtrail offers tours from the hotel, we did most of these, and they were okay as we needed some entertainment but added a hefty sum to our final bill.
