Stayed here one week with my 82 year old mother and 17 year old son. We had studio apartment which was all we could get last minute. It was clean and there wasn't anything which we needed that wasn't there. Free air conditioning was a great boon as usually you have to pay for it or hire a fan. Safety deposit box was 17.70 Euros for week with 10E refundable deposit. Maids cleaned every day except Sunday and Wednesday. They will change any towels you leave on the floor. Most apartments have pool views.
Poolside bar served nice grub and I thought it was reasonably priced. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and there is someone there 24hours. You can hire almost anything and they say if its not on the list they will get it for you. Seems a great family complex and there were plenty of young children (with parents and grandparents. Some reviews have mentioned the noise, but to be honest I didn't really notice the sound of the kids in the pool and would prefer it to building work or drunks. Complex was quiet at night but there was usually something on like bingo although the main entertainment is across the road each night in the Jutlandia which is owned by the same group. We had breakfast there one day but although the menus are the same the chef isn't and we much prefered the Plazamar! The kids rep and entertainer really seemed to love her job and the kids all seemed to love her too. There are a couple of pool tables and one computer (another two across road at Jutlandia).
Beach and plenty of shops and restaurants 5-10 minutes away. Slight hill going down but my mum is over eighty and didn't find it a problem. Tony's on the corner is good value and serves good breakfasts (and dinners). I had read a lot of rave reviews about Crocodillos and it's certainly popular as you have to queue up for a table, but to be honest I felt it was a bit over rated. My mums chicken was tough and my lasagne was just bolognese sauce with one sheet of pasta and cheese on top. Mrs Murphy's kitchen (up top of town) was really nice and we had a great meal in Fat Sams the last night (wish we had tried it earlier). Watering Hole was ok but bit expensive and I thought some of the others were better value and nicer.
Would highly recommend trip to Marineland. Coach goes Wednesday and I think Fridays and is free. The entrance is 22E and about 16E for kids, however they will give you a voucher at the airport for 3E discount. We got a taxi there which was 11E. The sea lion and dolphin show was amazing and you can get a photo with them for 10E but you have to book this beforehand.
Overall we had a great holiday and if I had to make one complaint it would be that they don't provide enough umbrellas to hire (1.50E a day)at the pool, so if like me you can't lie without one, you need to be up early. Also, at the beach, two loungers and a parasol is 10.50E a day, so a lot of people buy their own parasol and just lie on a towel or mat. There are also a few trees on the beach which supply good shade.

Plazamar has 2 accommodation blocks - the main block that has been refurbished, and the block where reception is that hasn't been refurbished.
We stayed in room 5C in the old block - absolutely terrible - very very old fashioned room - FILTHY!! - Bath appalling - room service non-existent (twice in 7 days to change towels - no cleaning done though) - room was humming by the end of the week and our feet black if we walked bearfoot.
Staff all very friendly - but just did no work! Good location (10 min walk to Santa Ponsa)
Warning - lifeguard spends more time playing with kids than actually looking out for them in the pool - so keep an eye on your kids. One lifeguard accidentally hit a lady and her baby when throwing a ball - all out war ensued when both she and her husband ending up having a slanging match with lifeguard. Same thing happened a couple of days later with a different couple.
Hotel only worthy of 2 stars, not clean, and certainly not classy.
My advice, don't use First Choice or this hotel.

Hi. Had a lovey week in the plazamar apartments. Weather was fantastic. My husband and our 3 children thoroughly enjoyed it. Adele the entertainer was just fantastic with the children and so was Alex. There was great shows on every night for the adults and the kids just loved the games that were on all the time. Pool was lovely and really clean. Great places to eat were Tony's on the corner, Kellys, crocidilo's and Jackie's. We especially loved Tony's the waiters were so friendly. Rooms were ok, a little on the small side but the maid service was excellent. I would reccomend it for families with children. It was very close to the beach and shops, bars and resturants.

This is just a fantastic place to go for a holiday for a family, not really for a young persons holiday. We have just returned and are considering going back next year. The place is very clean, it is relaxed for families with lots of entertainment for the children of all ages. There is an apartment run Kids club for 3 to 10 year olds which is very safe and both of my kids asked to go there twice every day as they had such good fun. The entertainment for adults is really good fun and the evening childrens disco was just brilliant. There are only about 100 apartments and the entertainment area makes it really easy to keep an eye on the children whilst you can sit back having a drink - really relaxing. The evening entertainment is good with variety acts regularly booked plus the nightly bingo and quiz's twice a week. The studio apartments are big and we shared for 10 days as a family of four without any problems - my children being 8 and 4 years of age. The pool is clean and unlike all the other places I have stayed in the caretaker removes all the towels from sun beds for those who selfishly get up early and try to reserve them for the day whilst they lie back in bed or go to the beach. Therefore, if you want to lie by the pool you can as there are usually spare sunbeds but you need to stay there with the towels yourselves. Unfortunately there are only 11 parasols. It is quiet after 12mn. It is less than 5 minutes from the main Santa Ponsa area down a very popular and well lit street. Very friendly staff with excellent facilities, kept really well. Just to say Adele and Alex are fantastic with the kids and the adults as the entertainers -we have been to many family places before and they shine above all others.

Just back from staying in tha Plazamar, couldn't fault it,staff where excellent on arrival and very helpful through out the the 2 weeks that we where there.Rooms clean, decent size, great air con ( a must )overlooking the pool which was great with a goods size kiddies pool.Entertainment excellent kids loved it,Adele very good with the kids great fun..What was a good idea was that when you put your towels out you had to stay out no going back to your room otherwise the pool attendant would remove the towels ( proper order ).

We (2 children aged 5 and 3, my husband and me!) had a great time in the Plazamar apartments. Stayed for 1 week in a ground floor studio apartment. They were very clean and well looked after. The studio apartment was smallish but did us for a week!!
The pool was lovely and great size so that children could be watched at all times. We were here nearly every day!! Activities during the day and at night for adults and children, organised by Adele the entertainer who was great - full of energy. Kids loved her!
A 5 minute walk to the restaurants and the beach. Ideal for all - lots of choice - We ate in different places and all are very good. Toni's was great for breakfast!!!
Would definitely recommend this accommodation. It is away from the nightclubs and bars which are at the other end of the town. Perfect for families and those looking for a quiet holiday.
