very nice hotel, resort quiet and relaxing
from abbeyjack
I booked our holiday for a relaxing break away, and read tripadvisor before booking, to ensure the hotel was ok, so now im giving my opinion! I did request a high floor when i booked up and so glad i did! we ended up overlooking the pool on the 6th floor, and the rooms seemed to have just been refurbished to a high standard. we had great views overlooking the bay and the pool, towels and sheets were changed daily, and the maids ensured the room was kept immaculatley clean. The rooms have a safety deposit box which was 16 euro for 1 week, (3 euro returnable deposit) there was also a laundry service which would wash and iron clothes for you for a small charge. The hotel itself is in need of a bit of an update, the reception area could be more modern. The pool bar was great, immaculately clean, and reasonably priced. The buffet meals for breakfast and evening meals were nice, the meat dishes were fab, and menu changed daily. you could sit where you wanted, and we prefered going for meals early as this was less hectic. dishes were cleared promptly. waiters were very nice. Reception were good for information and they also provide their own trips, which seemed to be good value. Alcudia market is just the next bus stop away, worth a look, not necessary to do tour for this. about 2 euros. The resort itself was great, we are both 25, and looked for a realxing break away, which we got. The hotel is situated a short walk from the beach, and a little walk from the marina ( about 5-10mins ) a nice walk along the promenade to shops and tavernas. Pine walk is great, even on a night there are lovely stalls selling jewellery e.t.c. The sand sculptures were fab, there were about 3 when we went, excellent works of art. The beach is great, not far from the hotel at all, and very clean, with wooden walkways to the sea. The fish come right up to the edge, and love bread! The beach is safe for little ones, and even had a lifeguard. The beds on the beach are 10 euros for a double with shade (not bad, as you can come and go all day ) Puerto Pollensa shops have a wide range of hand made pottery, and leather shoes, the usual water beds and kids toys, but lovely to look around on a nightime, as they are open late on a night. The spar shops next to the hotel are open early in morning until late on a night, if you require water or anything, and staff are lovely. The Palms bar out of the back of the hotel does karaoke and live acts everynight and is quite loud until midnight, seems busy, and entertaining, or there are bars in the main square - trotters ( british bar ) e.t.c Overall a good hotel, and resort, would definately return, weather was nice, the odd shower ( rained and was dry again within half an hour! ) will take the little one next time as ideal for her. If you decide to book up, have a great time x
POLLENSA PARK REVIEW
from jacky&linda
Just back from a week at the Pollensa Park Hotel. We booked the hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we agree with most of the reviews the hotel is large and in need of updating but is kept very clean. The indoor public areas are ok but dated The pool is large and while we were there never more than a dozen people in at once. The pool area and gardens are good for the sun with plenty sunbeds The snackbar next to the pool was ok but with a very limited menue. I can only comment on our room which was on the ground floor at the front of the hotel, we had niether balcony or terrace( Booked in error. SO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU BOOK ) If you wanted any privacy, the shutters had to be kept closed making the room very dark. ( see pics ) The room was large enough ,clean but in need of updating, our room had a fridge but this is not the case in all rooms. the best rooms seemed to be the ones facing the pool not the sea. The food at the hotel was much better than we expected with plenty of variarty of good quality dishes. The only down side of dining was having to queue to get a table although you didn't have to queue for long. the staff in the dinning room were excelent. The hotels evening entertainment consisted of a game of Bingo then it varied from a Parrot Show to a very entertaining Elvis. No Comment on the daytime activities. At the time we stayed there were very few children staying ,and most of the other guests seemed to be over 60s.
Good Value Family Hotel

The hotel is a very large 3* hotel 5 mins walk from an excellent sandy beach (perfect for kids and no timeshare sellers) and long promenade leading to the port/marina, which is about a 15 mins stroll. The bar at the beach is quite expensive and food very average, the service is slow. The Pollensa Park could do with an update although everywhere is clean and staff attentive (wish I could say the same about our rep!). Make sure you get a room with a balcony overlooking the pool. All other rooms poorly located unless you like shade and listening to cr*p singers in the local bars! The food was excellent with a good choice - although the restaurant has zero ambience - due to buffet style serving, super keen staff who whoosh your plate away and many screaming kids (including mine!). The pools were excellent with a good bar. The entertainment was pretty basic - Nothern clubland at best. The BIngo was very popular for some reason! Do make the effort to visit Pollensa Old Town (very pleasant) - a taxi is 20Euro return - probably too far to walk along busy road and minimal parking when you get there. There are hardly any decent bars in Pollensa, mainly restaurants and brit style pubs (not many of the latter compared to Alcudia).
great hotel

We have just returned from the Pollensa Park and I have to say the other reviews were spot on. I went with my wife and our 5 year old daughter. Whilst the hotel is a little dated the service was first class from the reception to the restaurant. The food was excellent and always plenty of choice. The entertainment was great for kids and adults alike. The pool was a great focal point and much used. The hotel was always clean and the cleaners very houseproud. The hotel offers trips to various days and nights out (via a local company) all of which should be booked from them rather than the rep from the travel agent. The prices are much cheaper and they only use British tour guides with good local knowledge. For a cheaper day out try the local bus service to Alcudia or C'an Picafort these only cost a few euros and are worth a look.

Just back from a week half board at Pollensa Park. Normally our family go self catering. So this was a new experience for my 7 year old. And she loved it! Must say that us parents did as well!! Whole ambiance of hotel and resort far better than my previous Majorca experiences. Food: From the lunches we took at the restaurants during our stay I do not doubt that, unless you pay top dollar, you will not get beter quality food than at the hotel. They also do make an effort to provide dishes with a local flavour (as well as trad brit grub). My daughter loved the experience of self service especially the ability to re-vist the ice cream stall again and again! Attractions: Alice loved the pool area, mini club, and other hotel attractions: tennis, table tennis; mini disco; basket ball; volley ball etc. Entertainment: May be my age (40 something) but the evening entertainment was of a better standard than I expected , even the Rod Stewart tribute, and one night of authentic Spanish dancing was particularly entertaining. All in all a very enjoyable trip and I would heartily recommend this hotel. PS Re resort itself. The square area is the most authentic spanish experience. The beach area at the bottom of the road from the hotel is large and of course close. However, to experience the best of the resort you need to take the 15 min. stroll up to the Pine walk area. It really is idyllic. Day trip to Alcudia water park was worth it. As was a bus trip over to Formentor (beautiful beach) with a ferry back .
Liked the Pollensa Park Hotel

Have just returned from a week's holiday at the Pollensa Park Hotel. The hotel is excellent - very well furnished rooms and public areas. I have to agree with a previous reviewer that the initial view of the hotel is offputting but once inside it is a different story. The rooms are quite a good size and well furnished on the two highest floors (in which we stayed). We were told by another guest that the two highest floors had been refurbished but not the lower floors but cannot comment on that, as we did not see the rooms on the lower floors. Our room was exceptionally clean and cleaned and tidied every day. The pool is brilliant and there is plenty of room in the large gardens, with plenty of sunbeds. The staff clean and tidy the pool and gardens every day and will deliver food and drinks to you. The food for both breakfast and dinner was very good, with a good variety of foods for all tastes. The staff are very efficient, helpful and very well trained. Most of the staff in the dining room ask you if you have finished before they remove your plates; there are some who DONT ask you and just whip the plates away - a bit disconterting. The entertainment in the evening was OK. There were a couple of funny acts on but one night there was a rock group, who must have turned up the speakers and were far too loud. I don't know if the management noticed but quite a large number of guests moved from round the pool and sat inside to escape the noise. A rock group is not family entertainment!! Ok if you're in your teens or twenties. Spent most evenings in the town as the taxis are good value, the reception staff will call one for you and they are at the hotel within a few minutes. Puerto Pollensa is a lovely town, with a gorgeous beach. Would recommend the island tour booked through reception. It's a full day and well worth the money - you go by coach, boat and train. We were surprised at the number of parents who kept their babies and young children up late at night. There were quite a lot who were getting distressed because of tiredness and they were at the breakfast table next day, crying ,because they obviously hadn't had enough sleep. Must agree with the comment about the Karaoke bars. Even if you don't have young children who want to sleep early, it would still be nice sometimes to sit on your balcony without having to listen to a man singing and playing an electric organ in one bar, a singer just down the road and a karaoke bar next door, all competing with one another and their speaker systems at full blast! . A few times a week maybe - not every night. We stayed here a few years ago and it wasn't like this. Would definitely recommend the Pollensa Park as it is good value for money and a relaxing and spacious place to stay.
Good hotel, great location

I have just (literally) got back from a holiday here, and so I thought I'd share my experience with other people who are perhaps planning to holiday here. The hotel itself looks very dated from the outside. I was very shocked when the transfer coach pulled up outside and confirmed that yes, this was our hotel. However once inside reception, it was tastefully decorated and air-conditioned. The reception staff were fantastic, as they all speak extremely good English, especialled the young woman who works there. Our room was on the third floor over-looking the street with bars and shops. The rooms could do with some modernising, but it had everything you needed from a hotel room. The balcony was also spacious and as with the rest of the room, spotlessly clean. The shower in our room was fantastic. Usually you get a shower that drips a bit, usually with freezing cold water. The showers here were powerful and always the right temperature. The towels were changed EVERY day, and the linen and rooms were cleaned and tidied. We ate at the hotel most nights, and found the food to be of good standard and this seemed to be the general opinion of everyone. There was always a selection for everyone. The breakfasts are adequately stocked as well, with everything ranging from yoghurts to croissants or a full English. I tried all whilst I was there, and found they were all of very good standard. The pool was cleaned daily, and there were always activities on for adults and children alike. It was also big, which meant it more than accomodated the people staying there. The evening entertainment wasn't really up to much. We saw the Rod Stewart tribute which was a great night, but other than that there was either a disco or some untalented bunch singing or dancing or telling jokes. I think this is where the hotel suffers as the programme needs to be more varied, bingo for 15 minutes, then a big gap, then a show for half an hour, then it finished at 10:30-11pm! That could definitely be worked on. The town of Puerto Pollensa was a 10 minute walk away, but buses and taxis were cheap and easy to use, but beware of the buses as they stop running at 8pm. The town was pleasant and still untouched by the loud bars and tacky shops that seem to be associated with holiday resorts. There were many local craft, perfume and jewellry shops, restaurants and convenience stores. Visit this hotel if you want a nice and pleasant week in a resort where everyone is friendly, welcoming and the atmosphere is fanastic. Stay away if you are looking for a holiday filled with drinking until 5am!
it was ok

I have to agree and say that it is very very noisy if you have a side room. The rooms are ok and clean (great shower) however the carpets in the rest of the hotel needed a good hoover! The buffet selection was not to bad, but the restaurant was very very hot - not sure if the air con had broken down. The staff were very freindly and helpful. This seems to be a great hotel for familes - it wasn't really our 'cup of tea' The hotel is in a good location and Puerto Pollensa is a lovely place - the restuarants were fab and theres some lovely market stalls that are open every evening selling funky jewellery. The beach is only a five minute walk and is lovely and clean and the sea is glorious.
Noisy!

Lovely Food and the pool was very child friendly, which was excellent with the little ones. The rooms were dated, but very clean with quiet air conditioning. Nice position, relatively close to the centre of town, with the beach opposite. HOWEVER, we were positioned round to the back of the hotel, away from the sea views, which we could have accepted if it hadn't been for the THREE very noisy pubs and bars. The children found it extremely difficult to sleep, as drunken Karaoki seemed to be occuring every night of our stay. I would recommend this hotel to adults who aren't expecting to be in bed until 12:30am every night, as it definately was not quiet until at least then. Yes the bars finished at midnight on the dot, but then we had the rabble next door swearing and coming into their rooms extremely noisily.
Great hotel, lovely location.

I have just returned from a week at the Pollensa Park Hotel and had a lovely stay. The hotel was spotlessly clean (but yes, probably could do with a little modernisation) and the rooms were lovely. The TV lounge, pool and poolside bar were great, and the food was fantastic. The hotel is popular with the older generations, which, as two 19 year olds, we were slightly concerned about. However there were people of all ages and if the entertainment is not quite to your taste, there is alot to do elsewhere. My only word of warning would be the slightly over-friendly, shall we say, 'mature' waiters who seemed to think that they were 20 and not 50, and tended to be a bit creepy!! Aside from that, the other staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and all spoke fluent English. If you are about to go to the Pollensa Park, I assure you that you will have a great time!

Recently returned from a week at the Pollensa Park Hotel, had paid extra at time of booking for a front facing room with a fridge and safe. On arrival we were given a side facing room and told all the fridges had been removed from the rooms. To obtain a fridge you had to... more
