Aug 2008, Ms I GALLACHER

can not fault this hotel, this is our second time at this hotel and would def go back 10 out of 10 for everything and every member of staff .
great choice of food every day. entertainment could improve a bit but was enjoyable. pool area is very clean and safe but be warned you may not get a sunbed after 10am but the beach is only a few hundred yards away and is perfect for swimming and sunbathing .
will be back to the pollensa park thats for sure .
for a good night out go to the admiral bar just at the start of the town square brilliant night the singers and bar staff are spot on, palms bar just alongside the hotel is also a good night out for all the family.

Aug 2008, Miss V ROBINSON

I first visited The Pollensa Park hotel at the age of 10 i fell in love with it instantly, there was so much to do during the day, kept me busy and kept my parents happy. All of the staff were so friendly and i didnt want to leave at the end of the 2 weeks!
I am now 20 and have been back every year, it is a fantastic hotel, with lovely staff and facilities to cater for everybody big or small young or old!
I am going back this year without the family and am very happy to spend a week in the town doing my own thing, yes there may not be loads of bars and clubs but there is enough to do in the evening that you dont necessarily need bars and clubs.
anybody that gets a chance even to visit for the day do it is amazing!

Jul 2008, Mr R Tyrer

My wife and I had stayed at different resorts on Mallorca over the years but have always returned many times to Puerto Pollensa. I think this is the best part of the island followed by closely by Sa Coma. For our latest trip to Puerto Pollensa in early July we stayed at the Pollensa Park hotel on a half board basis, this was booked though Cosmos/Monarch holidays. I had booked a week as a late deal but when we arrived were presently surprise at the hotel and we ended up on the top floor (room 811), overlooking Puerto Pollensa bay and the harbour in the near distance. I can honestly say that this was the best hotel we've stayed at in the resort and considering its only classed as a 3 star.
The restaurant was well run and although we did have to queue on occasion for breakfast and evening meal, the queues moved quickly and we maybe had to wait for 5 minutes or so. The food was exceptional and some evenings were theme nights with extra Mallorcan food set out near the buffet bar. One evening was different cheeses, another was local meats (suckling pig) and pies but my favourite theme night was when the famous seafood Paella was on the menu. There was always a good variety of food to suit all tastes for the evening dinner with 2 different types of fish included. Anyone who didn't enjoy the food I would consider to be very hard to please. The staff in the hotel were always courteous, pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and fresh, replacement towels were always left by the maid srvice if you placed the used ones in the bath, bed linen was changed twice during the week The air conditioning was a godsend and could be set to your own requirements, particularly good of a night when the outside temperature is still hot.
There were some very good acts on during the weeks entertainment but you have to be down early on the outside terrace to get a table and chairs.
The walk down to the harbour takes only 10 - 15 minutes and is needed to walk off the evening meal. There's plenty of restaurant /bars down there to have a relaxing drink and watch the world pass by. The restaurants in the square are very lively and during the week we were there, the local people were celebrating one of their Festivals. A stage had been set up in the square and we sat and listened to singers performing a tribute to Ol blue eyes Frank Sinatra. Its a pity we went from a Saturday to a Saturday because there was going to be a huge firework display on the Sunday as part of the Festival.
The local bus service is literally just around the corner on the main Promenade road and we took the bus to Pollensa town to climb the 365 steps at Calavari, there's a small chapel at the top and cafe for refreshments (no loos!) the fare is a couple of euros. Its also worth the 1 hour bus journey to Palma (about 11 euros each for return journey)and have a look at the Cathedral. My wife used to work for C&A before they shut the UK department stores in 2000 but the european ones are still open and there's one in Palma. All in all we really enjoyed our week at the Pollensa Park hotel and I would recommend it to anyone

Jun 2008, Mrs L Dearden

I have just returned from a fantastic weeks stay in the Pollensa Park Hotel. This hotel is only 3 star but the hotel is far superior to the star rating. Our room was cleaned every day, fresh towels provided whenever we requested them. The air conditioning worked and was not noisy
The food was excellent we never had to queue and was always spoilt for choice every evening.
The pool is huge we never used this facility as we prefer the beach but the pool looked clean and well maintained, amble sunbeds and umbrellas.
The staff was friendly and very helpful.
We had this hotel recommended to us and we were not disappointed at all, We would recommend anyone who is looking for a totally stress free relaxing holiday to stay at this hotel.

Jun 2008, Miss C W

I am an 18yr old girl and i found that this place had nothing to offer for my age group when going away on a off-peak season. we planned to go away and visit laods of bars and clubs and there was nothing. they only had bingo and kids discos on for entertainment and the odd rubbish comedian that was only funny to 6 year olds and one night of flamenca dancing. there wasnt any decent bars nearby and if they did, they didnt even stay open very late. there was one night when me and my partner were walking down the road at about 11 o clock at night and it was dead. everything was shut and no one was in sight. Im sure its a lovely place for young kids and the older generation but i wouldnt recommend young groups of friends going during the off-peak season.

My holiday at the pollensa park hotel...
10 / 10
Jun 2008, Miss S Manship

My holiday at the pollensa park hotel was very good!
I would definatley reccomend it to anyone: The staff are extremly friendly, the views are amazing and you are only a short walk to the beach and shops.
And as for those people who only gave the hotel 5/10 or under must be mad!
The food is lovely and there is hardly ever a que at the dining room. You cannot hear the air-con at all and there is no noise form the road.
Regarding to a previous comment: you don't need a t.v in spain! there is plenty of other things to do!
My room was on the 7th floor on the end wih a double balcony, over-looking the pool and beach.
The holiday was fantastic but the only thing is that if you finish your eveing meal by 6:30 you have to wait a hour and a half for entertainment.

Everything the last review said is...
8 / 10
Jun 2008, Ms B Whaley

Everything the last review said is true, but remember this is only a 3 star hotel and it is quite a good one.
A few points:-
Email the hotel and ask them for a quiet high room, we did that and was given room 833 on the 8th floor over looking the pool. Great room with a 3rd bed in so plenty of room.
Take lots of insect spray, wipes and a plug in as lots of people were getting biten. The town is only a 10 mins walk away and we walked in every night. If you turn left at the 1919 cafe you will find the square where there are lots of cafe etc and the market on a Wednesday.
Do not buy any chips from the man who cooks outside in his little hut - he is a rude arrogant idiot and treated the English badly. Go to the English fish and chip place.
I wouldn't recommend booking with Thomas Cook, our tickets didn't come and we had to collect them from the airport!
It takes about 1hr 15mins to get the hotel from the airport so not too bad.
Men have to wear long trouses for dinner and some of the women make an effort to dress nice and some don't. Yes dinner is a bit mad we went out twice in a week.
There is a hairdryer in the room but you need to take your own beach towels. There is also no fridge, TV and tea making facilities - but hey like I said it's a 3 star hotel.
The hotel entertainment is a bit hit and miss. Tribute bands, singers etc some are ok and some are not.
We booked to go and see the Pirates show DO NOT pay extra for the quater deck it isn't worth it. The food is a bit rank, you might want to eat before you go. The show itself is really really good and worth seeing.
I would go again on a bed and breakfast basis only and then eat out at all the lovely places.
Hope the above helps.

Pollensa Park is a really nice hotel....
7 / 10
Jun 2008, Mrs H Murphy

Pollensa Park is a really nice hotel. We had a room on the seventh floor with a sea view. I can honestly say we have never had a nicer view from a hotel room. Lounge area, pool area and hotel generally is a very good standard. Bathroom needed re-tiling, especially the floor but I've seen worse. Pool is huge with plenty of sunbeds although we didn't use them. However, we did use the sunbeds in the gardens for a couple of days. Lovely, well-kept grounds, very relaxing to sit out under the trees on a hot day. Not that we had many hot days during the two weeks we were there.
Now, down to the nitty-gritty. We would not go back to the hotel - the reason being the dining room. The food was fine, plenty of choice and generally good quality. But it was the most stressful place I have ever eaten in. Queues nearly every night to get in. Then you were shown to a table - the table are crammed together and some placed right up to the door. The room is far too small when the hotel is full. I have never known such a noisy dining room, there are trollies being wheeled about all over the place, staff and guests all trying to avoid bumping into each other. One of your previous reviewers called it a canteen and that is exactly what it felt like. I even used the term myself whilst we were on holiday. The staff are racing around clearing used items almost the second you have finished eating from them which is very unsettling. I couldn't wait to get out of the place. I hasten to add it is not the staff's fault. The problem is the room is just too small for the number of people. Another thing which is offputting is the practice of scaping, literally scraping, one half empty food container into another in front of you while you are queuing for your meal. This is then put back on the counter for the guests- it made me feel sick.
The resort itself is lovely, we would definitely go back to the resort. Most days we went to Daina's along the promenade for a midday snack, very reasonable and lovely quality food.
It's worth taking the local transport -it's so cheap and you can get about rather than stay in the resort every day. I can recommend the bus trip to Soller, 10.00 am every day, except Sundays, around 25 euro return. It's a two hour journey but for thrills it's better than any fairground ride. Dozens of hairpin and hair-raising bends and fantastic scenery. Soller is a pretty little town and then there is the wooden train down to the harbour. A lovely day out . Also the trip to Formentor on the bus, at just over a euro, fantastic value, lovely aquamarine sea when you get there. Fantastic views on the journey.

Our third time at this Hotel...
2 / 10
Jun 2008, Mr William Hall

Our third time at this Hotel previously no problem.
Allocated room on the ground floor in the dreaded 100's with no balcony, dark gloomy and small.
Phone didn't work all week despite being reported twice.
Air conditioning was very noisy and blew out fluff and lumps of dirt.
Staff tended to rush you out as soon as you had swallowed the last of your food.
Saw one nights so called entertainment still dishing out the same old rubbish they were doing 10 years ago.
Will NOT be going back again.
Thomas Cook to be avoided at all costs, told us it would cost us another 150 Euros for a balcony room if their was one available.
The reply consisted of two words.

Just back from Pollensa Park Hotel...
10 / 10
May 2008, Mr B Macfarlane

Just back from Pollensa Park Hotel and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays ever, in the most due to the accomodation. The hotel was clean and well maintained with a variety of activities to keep everyone (young and old) entertained. Prior to going on holiday we had been concerned about previous 'anti' comments but I can asure you these must be one-off's as all the staff we met couldn't do enough for you, we will definately be returning next year.
