Just arrived home a few days ago from 2 weeks at the Ayhan Hotel Gumbet and Hmmmmm where will i start??? We were welcomed on arrival which was 6 in the evening after 12 hour delay. Showed to our rooms which were very basic. And when i say basic i mean BASIC! We were told we would have a tv, tea making facilies and a frige which we didn't. The rooms were extremely clean and clean towels provided every other day. Bascially everything about the hotel was just ok. the staff were friendly although they did not speak good english. Its a family run hotel so basically all the staff are related. The pool was okay bit on the small side and its very shaded, so we used the beach everyday which is literally five minutes away. That was one of the good things, although the hotel was on a very steep hill on the way back!! Hotel had a BQ night stay well clear as they said it was 25 lira per couple on the first week we got charged 72 lira then the second week it jumped to 106 lira for 4 of us so they make up the prices as they go along its just a raki night for the manager Memet to get drunk with all his pals. And when you go to pay for drinks ect they have never any change and they just keep adding it up with there prices and a few extra thngs that you dont get. As for the thomas cook rep for the hotel WOT REP???? Saw him one morning having breakfast had to intoduce our selves that was the last we saw him no welcome meeting. As for turkish breakfast
3 bits of cucumber, 3 bits of tomato, butter, honey, strawberry jam and a triangle of cheese lived on bread and jam for the two weeks.
Only thing hotel is good for is if you just want somwhere to put your head down at night and use as a base.

Just arrived home today from 2 weeks at the Ayhan Hotel Gumbet and Hmmmmm where will i start??? We were welcomed on arrival which was 5 in the morning......Showed to our rooms which were very basic. And when i say basic i mean BASIC! We were told we would have a tv and a frige which we didn't. The rooms were extremely clean and clean towels provided every day apart from the odd day. Bascially everything about the hotel was just ok. the staff were friendly although they did not speak good english. Its a family run hotel so basically all the staff are related. The food was ok. Very limited menu if u don't like turkish food which i don't so lived on chips...!! The pool is like a puddle and its very shaded, so we used the beach everyday which is literally two minutes away. That was one of the good things, how close it was to bar street although was a very steep hill on the way back!! The food is very cheap in the hotel and there is a small shop across the road that sells crisps etc which you are allowed to bring into the hotel to eat...! However being so close to the main roads and bar street it is very noisy at night with cars and drunk people. One of the people my sister and i met at the hotel said that it was going to be an 18-30's hotel which you will realise when you arrive as there was alot of young people at the hotel. So if you're looking for a relaxing quiet hotel this really isn't the one for you!!! A few of my skirts and tops went missing so make sure you keep everything locked away! My perfume was also being sprayed like air freshener by the cleaners although they were lovely girls!! Oh and last but not least there was a cockroach in our bathroom the size of a dog!!! However as much as i am moaning on i did have a good time and i didnt want to come home! Me and my sister just spent most of our time out of the hotel which most of the hotel users do as well....... So if your paying next to nothin for this holiday then i think you'll be pleased.....You do get what you pay for.......We did.......!! :D

What a great cheap holiday!
We were welcomed has soon as we arrived, which was early hours in the morning and taken to the room, rooms were very clean but basic that is my main concern wasn't expecting it to have a jacuzzi.
It is a small family run hotel but you feel straight away a part of the family, they invited us to there barbecue which was on the first week but we decided not to go as we like to do our own thing.
But the second week we did go and it was my best night there, they laid on great food and entertainment, belly dancing, Turkish music Etc.
The food in the hotel was fantastic Ali would cook all sorts of Turkish food we found it very cheap and affordable as when we went into Bodrum it was very expensive 2 Jd and coke in 1 bar £25 and meals were around £60 to £80 for 2.
Recommend the Secret Garden in Bodrum, it is a wonderful restaurant for a special evening, wonderful service and very pretty garden. It is behind some back streets which look as if there is nothing there - that why its a secret.
Downsides are the hotel hasn't got much of a pool and the rooms were located quite near road so some noise, but despite that if you are looking for friendly staff, fantastic food and great Turkish hospitality then this is the place to go.
We will really miss memits' family and staff.

We often use this hotel while coming to Turkey by a car. After we enter to Turkey from the Ipsala Gate, We go to Kesan. It is not far away. it takes 20 minutes.
we stay at Ayhan Hotel our travels to Turkey. Thus, After the day we enter to Turkey. We can easily contuniue our trip whereever we go. The hotel is pretty quite. It has very good staffs and stuffs :) The price is really reasonable. It has a/c, hot water, breakfast. these are our basic needs and the hotel provide us this features in that reasonable price.
